I laughed when I read this, because it’s quite lame. Your post portrays women as simpletons and men as deceptive and insensitive. Is that really the case? Of course there may be exceptions, but that’s just what they are – exceptions.

First of all, I take it that you don’t know the meaning of the phrase “creatures of easy virtue”, otherwise you would be smart enough not to use it in generalization, especially in a public forum. Your use of it here is in very poor taste.

You say that 99.9% of women don’t know the difference between lust and love? Do you honestly think that women are that dumb? Or are you saying that men are such good fakes as to make lust look like love scuh that it’s impossible to tell the difference? NO ONE IS THAT GOOD A FAKE, and no one can feign love for any meaningful length of time. Most people (the exception being the minority that have never experienced unconditional love) can tell the difference between someone who genuinely loves them and one who’s just lusting after them. If anyone chooses lust, it’s because that’s what they want. Women are not as dumb as you portray here, unless of course you’re referring to the women in your circle of influence.

In verse 1 of your post, you portray males as deceptive sex-crazed creatures who would go to any length (even to the extent of promising marriage) in order to get a woman into bed. I suppose this includes you? If men are generally that way, then the whole world will be in turmoil. Thankfully most men aren’t that way. Of course there are the deceptive men (and women) who will do or say anything to get what they want (what’s new??) but the generalization is needless.

Verse 4 of your post, I found very funny. How many men do indeed get married because they want a “trophy” wife?? Are men really that senseless?? Why go through all the trouble of cheating, lying, exploiting and even stealing just to acquire a “trophy” wife that, according to you, will “get rusty with age”? That’s the dumbest thing I ever heard. I assume this is just your opinion and is not what generally obtains.

And in your verse 6, I assume that when you say “too much sex” you actually mean promiscuity? If that’s the case, then this is applicable to everyone, as sexually transmitted diseases have no gender preferences!

Finally, please don’t give this type of advice to your daughters (or sons), as it’s quite unnecessary. Just showering them with unconditional love and helping them develop a solid moral foundation, a healthy self esteem and self confidence will enable them exercise good judgment in most situations. Casting men (or women) in an ugly light will only instill fear and/or suspicision into them and seriously hamper their ability to form healthy male-female relationships.
Re: An Open Letter To Nigerian Girls And Ladies by dapsycool(m): 8:03pm On Sep 21, 2007
Madam windywendy, you kinda wrong, Actually most men would do anything to get sex, that's why some bosses would demand sex b4 promoting a female worker, that's why a 45yr old lecturer would want sex with a 18yr student to award marks, that's why most married man play away matches(if u r married don't trust your husband 100%), That's why American armies rape the iraqi females they are meant to protect, that's why u hear of Father's raping their female daughter,That's why ABACHA died, Most men tell ladies what they wanna hear just to get to the promise land, this is REALITY, get used to IT!!!
Re: An Open Letter To Nigerian Girls And Ladies by windywendy(f): 8:47pm On Sep 21, 2007
Of course I agree that such things happen, but my problem arises when people say "most". It is not most men who are unfaithful in their marriages, it is not most lecturers who'll want sex with female students before awarding marks, it is not most men in the army that r a p e and it certainly is not most men that r a p e their daughters -- if this were the case then the population of men in prison on such charges will certainly be more than the population outside of it. So your idea of reality is definitely wrong. You get used to the reality that most men are not like that. If that's the way you are, speak for yourself, but definitely don't generalize or try to give us the idea that most men are irresponsible.
Re: An Open Letter To Nigerian Girls And Ladies by dapsycool(m): 9:08pm On Sep 21, 2007
Windy i stick with my opinion, the instances i gave u are just few in millions, more sexual sins are commited than armed robbery, 419 e.t.c, "MOST" woman sleep with several men b4 they actually get married, we have "MORE" non-virgins, than virgins (females above 20 and unmarried), Having a gf without having sex with her is an abnormality these days, Have u heard of Contract-date b4, strictly for f**ks. Believe me an average guy's priority in a relationship especially we youths is to get down below

IN SOME CASES ,KIDS OR OLD PEOPLE THAT HAVE PROBLEM CONTROLLING THEIR

It sounds like he wants Nigerian women to only view sex as something for men to enjoy. In other words, for Nigerian women to pretty much go along with their husband when he wants it and if he strays it's okay because after all too much sex is too bad. This is definitely very sexist. I agree.

FIRST LET ME DISCRIBE MYSELF AS AN INTERNATIONAL IGBO BOY I'M STILL IN MY 20s. I TRAVELLED ABROAD WHEN I WAS 17YRS AND SINCE THEN I HAVE LIVED MY TEEN AGE ABROAD AND DO COME HOME WITH DIFFERENT GOODIES. I HAVE HAD SEVERAL DATING WITH PEOPLE OF ALL TRIBES AND STILL HOOKED WITH FOREIGN GIRLS.

FIRST I MET A CONGO GIRL IN ABIDJAN AND WE DATED FOR 6 MONTHS BEFORE SHE TRAVELLED AND AFTER HER I GOT MANY OTHER RELATION WITH LEBANON GIRL, MOROCO, TUNISIA AND BURKINAFASO AND IVORY COAST GIRLS.
I'VE HAD FEW MONTHS WITH SENEGAL GIRL AND MALI NOT FORGETING OUMOU SANGARE MY GIRL FOR GUINEA CONAKRY.
I AM A CHRISTIAN AND I HAVE HAD RELATION WITH ONLY TWO CHRISTIAN GIRLS AS FROM MY 19YRS SOME LOVELY DATING WITH IJAW GIRLS, TIV GIRLS IN BENUE AND TARABA STATE WHEN I WENT FOR HOLIDAY TO MY SISTER THAT LIVES IN BENUE STATE. MY GIRL FROM CONGO IS ALSO A CHRISTIAN. OTHER GIRLS ARE MUSLIMS AND THEY LOVED ME SO MUCH THAT THEY CRY FOR MARRIAGE. I'M A DECENT AND COOL BOY. I LOVE LIFE AND CHRISTIANITY.
FINALLY I MET A YORUBA GIRL WHOS FAMILY IS FROM BENIN REPUBLIC AND HER MOTHER IS FROM OYO STATE. FINALLY LET ME SAY THE BOTH FAMILIES OF HER FATHER AND MOTHER NATIONALIZED IN TOGO. THE FAMILY IS A PROMINENT ISLAMIC PEOPLE AND THEY ALL TRAVEL TO MECCA FOR PILGRIMAGE EVERY YEAR. HER MOTHER IS ALHJIA AND WILL BE TRAVELLING AGAIN THIS SEASON. I FALL IN LOVE WITH THE BLACK QUEEN IN A COMMUNICATION OFFICE WHERE SHE WORKS FOR UNESCO. SHE COMPLETELY STOPPED ME FROM KEEPING OTHER RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER FOREIGN GIRLS AND WE HAVE TRAVELLED TO NIGERIA TWICE.

FINALLY SHE GOT PREGNANT AND GAVE WONDERFUL BIRTH TO MY BOY WHO'S NOW 3 YEARS. DURING WHEN SHE WAS PREGNANT AND I DECIDED THAT I WILL TAKE HER TO MY PARENTS AT HOME. THE ISLAMIC FANATICS SAID THAT THE IGBOS EATS HUMAN FLESH THAT THEY WILL NOT ALLOW HER TO GO WITH ME. THE PREGNANT WAS A BATTLE OF RELIGIOUS FAITH AND I WON IT WITH MY SOFT LOVE ON THEIR DAUGHTER HEART THAT NEVER CEASE TO LOVE ME. LAST YEAR I TOOK SOME KOLA NUTS AND SOME CASH TO HER FAMILY TO DEMAND FOR HER HANDS IN MARRIAGE BUT THEY SURPRISINGLY REFUSED THE KOLA THAT I SHOULD BECOME A MUSLIM BEFORE THEY GIVE OUT MY QUEEN. THEY NEVER KNEW THAT ALHJIA MY BIG MUM ILWAY LOVES ME SO MUCH AND ALWAYS WANT ME FOR HER DAUGHTER. I LOVE MY MOTHER INLAW FOR SHE NEVER LET HER FEELINGS TO BE NOTICED BY THOSE IMAMS AND ALL THE FAMILY ALHAJIS IN EUROPE AND SAUDI ARABIA.
SHE DO SPEAK TO ME IN SECRET THAT MY QUEEN WILL BE FOR ME FOR EVER. THE GRAND FATHER, A DECENT YORUBA MAN WHO LIVES HIS LIFE IN TOGO LOVES IGBO PEOPLE SO MUCH THAT HE IS INVITING ME TO COME AROUND TOGO FOR A MEETING. HE TOLD MY QUEEN SECRETLY THAT SHE SHOULD CARRY ANOTHER PREGNANCY FOR ME THAT WILL SHOW OTHER HARD LINE ISLAMIC FANATICS TO SURRENDER TO THE LOVE OF THEIR DAUGHTER TO ME.

AFTER ALL SAID AND DONE MY QUEEN IS 5 MONTHS PREGNANT NOW AND I'M EXPECTING A NEW BABY SOME TIME XMAS OR JANUARY 2008. I THANK JESUS FOR MAKING ME WON THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND IT MAKES ME REMEMBER WHAT JESUS CHRIST THOUGHT US TO LOVE OUR ENEMY. MY FIRST BOY IS A CHRISTIAN AND THE COMING ONE WILL BE A CHRISTIAN TOO. PRAISE GOD THAT HIS LOVE ENDURES FOREVER. JESUS IS LORD AND HIS WAYS ARE PERFECT!!!!!!

MY QUEEN IS DREAMING OF A CHRISTIAN MARRIAGE THAT ALL THE ALHAJIS WILL BE INVITED TO WITNESS A HOLYGHOST UNION WITH THEIR DAUGHTER.
GOD BLESS NIGERIA AND HIS WONDERFUL PEOPLE. LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER FOR THE GREATEST IS LOVE.

I like what you wrote, especially numbers 4, 5, and 6. It's what I'll call INTROSPECTION FOR WOMEN . Perhaps that should be the title for your next book.

After all's said and done, one question remains:

Would this same girls listen? I mean really listen?

I think this whole scenario reminds me of the classic movie: Sound of Music. Why you might ask, but if you've watched the movie just like so many people, you will remember these words from one of the early songs in the movie.

"Many a things you know you like to tell her (them)
Many a things she (they) ought to understand
But how do you make her (them) stay
And listen to all you say, "

Well i really hope they DO listen.

And for those of you that say the poster doesnt know what he's saying, i think you're all culprits of what he said. The fact remains that there's truth in what he said.

@ Nikole
are you a Nigerian? I doubt it.

I read all the latest replies two hours ago. And everybody has a price.
You don't have to agree with me. But if you are well informed on the lives of those living in Nigeria since 1980 to date, you would have been more enlightened.

The post is not about personalities.
It is about our ways of life.
Our erroneous and ambiguous misconceptions and perceptions.

Women are not sex objects.
But most of them display themselves as sex objects in their nature and haute couture.

I am not a sexist.

The way you display your wares is the way men will see you.

Men respect women who respect themselves.

How do you display your character?
How do you portray yourself?

Results:Each year, Nigerian women obtain approximately 610,000 abortions, a rate of 25 abortions per 1,000 women aged 15-44. The rate is much lower in the poor, rural regions of northern Nigeria than in the more economically developed southern regions. An estimated 40% of abortions are performed by physicians in established health facilities, while the rest are performed by nonphysician providers. Of all hospitals and clinics that provide abortions, 87%are privately owned, and abortions are provided by nonspecialist general practitioners at 73%. Three-quarters of physician providers use manual vacuum aspiration to perform abortions, and 51% of providers who treat abortion complications use this method. Physician respondents believe that the main methods used by nurses, midwives and other nonphysicians to induce abortions are dilation and curettage, hormonal or synthetic drugs and insertion of solid or sharp objects.

Conclusions: Although highly restricted, abortions take place in large numbers in Nigeria, under both safe and unsafe conditions. Policies to improve access to contraceptive services would reduce unplanned pregnancy and abortion and, along with greater access to safe abortion, would help preserve the health and lives of Nigerian women.

If a well researched study 10 years ago confirmed that each year, Nigerian women obtain approximately 610,000 abortions, then how many abortions are Nigerian women having now?

1,000, 000 - 4,000, 000 Abortions?

1. I have stayed in the North, West, South and East of Nigeria since 1980 to date.

I have been involved in Family Life education with National Association of Nigerian Nurses and Midwifes on national levels from urban subjects to rural subjects on early marriage, harmful traditional practices and taboos, family planning methods, FGM, VVF,  etc.

Do you know what FGM VVF mean?

Do you know the cases of FGM and VVF in Nigeria?

2. I have been involved in missionary work with the largest Christian missions, namely, the Roman Catholic Church, Deeper Christian Life Bible Church and the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

3. I have done a study on the Consequences of Rape on Women in Nigeria.

4. I was once a counselor on HIV/AIDS in the office of the General Overseer of the RCCG.

5. I have been involved in social community mobilization and sensitization with extensive surveys nationwide in Nigeria.

To reply those who wanted to discuss me:

I am not claiming to be a saint.
But God knows that 99.9% of Nigerian girls and women have mistaken lust for love.

One of my favourite people on Nairaland said someone must have jilted me.

I cannot be jilted.

Ask the younger and older women who know me.
From the 19 to the 70 years old granny and they will tell you that I don't have time for relationships.

The relationships I have had were out of compassion for the younger women and older woman.
And there are only three younger women and one older woman.

I have been favoured with American, German and Nigerian female companions.
And I appreciate them.

The Nigerian women are very beautiful and wonderful.
Very notable Nigerian ladies.

The American is a senior Officer in the US Army.
She has been in the US Army for 24 years.
And I am very proud of her.

The German was a beautiful tall blonde who was an abstract artist, vegetarian and lover of literature like me. She remains the most ideal woman I have ever known.

The fact is my entire life is based on God, Charity and Literature.
The rest is history. Finis.

Please, go over the research study on abortions in Nigerian 10 years ago and think of the situation now?

Remember that there was no Google in 1997.
Do you understand what I mean by the reference to Google?

orikinla no mind them.
The truth is a bitter pill to swallow.
I knew med students who made extra money performing abortions.
I saw girls come with with complications from incomplete or septic abortions.
Someone has to speak the bitter truth.

Our women can be shameless.
Some will sell their womanhood even to monkey for a few dollars and Euros.
Running after ugly, smelly, pot bellied white men that couldn't get decent girls here in America.
Our women have a reputation of being cheap, very very cheap.
They'll sleep with lecturers for grades, with employers for promotion, with dirty oil expatriates for cheap money.
Go to Warri,Lagos and PH and see for yourselves.
Married ones are not exempt.
sometimes mother and daughter do tricks together.
I have seen our girls at Sheraton in Lagos (while returning on vacation) pursuing and fighting over white men and I felt sick to my stomach.

The reputation that our women are ashewo and our men are 419ers did not start from Jupiter.
That is the general impression about Nigerians and we ought to tell the truth to ourselves and do whatever we can to educate our girls about closing their legs tight.
We must reclaim our God given dignity.

Anyone who has stayed long in Nigeria knows the truth.

Even we have to stop our younger and older women from going to preach the gospel from house to house when over 65% had physical relationships with the brothers they were meant to bring to our Lord.

Did I say 99.9%?

Only 1% of our Nigerian women are chaste and pure?

They are not even up to 1%.

When to be a virgin or to be chaste has become an oddity.

Nigerian girls and ladies laugh at those who are still virgins and chaste.

They even lure them to lose their virginity to balance their equation.

Nigerian wives?
Mum is the word here.
Let us keep our secrets secret.

99.9% of Nigerian girls see themselves as sex objects.
And they also market themselves as sex objects.

Now let us open the can of worms.
The top 10 banks in Nigeria employ Nigerian women they see as sex objects and send them hawking for rich men to  lure them to their banks.

The Nigerian ladies are even happy to be employed as sex objects by these notorious banks. And the executive directors and managers pretend to be pious Christians and Muslims.

From the G bank to the Z bank.
And from the D bank to the P bank.

Do you know how many thousands of Nigerian girls they have sent hawking in the guise of marketing since 1995 to date?
And spoilt the girls for the men who later married them.

Scenario 1:

They were two and dressed for real marketing.
They came in a new official car with their driver.
The Z bank made sure they were well groomed and prepared.

As she stepped in my friend's office in Lagos, she was shocked to see me.

"What are you doing here?"
"This is my contact office," I replied.
I have known for years.

Later my friend told me that she wanted a relationship as she was coming to make passionate appeals to him to open an account.
She knew my friend was happily married.
And she was actually engaged to a good looking guy.
If only he knew what she had been doing in the employment of this top 10 Nigerian bank?

So, Nigerian girls and ladies should stop being sex objects.

On too much sex for the nymphomaniacs:

Excessive sex also cause fatigue and it is particularly harmful to the kidneys, as it can cause a disease known as “kidney deficiency”. Its symptoms are hair loss, frequent miscarriage and period pain in women, lower back pain, toothache, ringing in the ears, diabetes, heart palpitation, fear of cold, dizziness, short breath, cold feet, frequent urination, impotence in men and infertility in women, and cold sensations in the genitals.
