When you Google the 3 largest tribes in Africa, you get Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo. Each of them over 40 million strong, more than the population of most countries of the world, Ghana is just 28 million people. To find all three tribes in one country was a recipe for disaster

You can't have two captains in one ship, let alone three. And so the story of Nigeria with these three tribes has been one of suspicion, betrayal, tribalism, killings, civil wars and eternal political fighting. This won't end any time soon.

The three largest tribes in Africa, together in one country? Two would have been very difficult, three was going to be a certain disaster.

You said this won’t end anytime soon, that means even you don’t foresee a solution. Instead of wasting too much time on Nigeria situation. Pay more attention to your national identity (Igbo). Nigeria is not designed to work, Nigeria is designed to exist. It’s continued existence is as important as European Union

This is why the British and our founding fathers in their wisdom chose a constitution which allowed some autonomy for each of the regions.
Unfortunately, some people for some reasons that are still not clear decided to abolish it by force.

The problem of Nigeria is not the size of the population, but the content of character of each of the ethnic groups that makes up the country. Believe it or not, Nigerians are not good people.

America, Indonesia, China and India are more populous than Nigeria and they are living just fine. Perhaps you are saying that the black man is too sick to coexist with one another.

Where did the nonsense autonomy get us to a civil war?

It's intentional. If the colonialists couldn't disrupt Africans through artificial amalgams like Nigeria, there's no way they can sustain the confusion called Africa today. Homogenous countries generally have focus and direction. They also seek the best for their nations. A Tinubu, for instance wouldn't become president of an Oduduwa country, where an Osinbajo existed. Neither can a Buhari for Arrewa where a Kwakwanso existed. The only way the colonialist could keep Africa perpetually poor and confused is through these internal frictions. And they know Africans (blacks) don't have the smartness and will to reverse it.

Let's look at Central Africa for instance, why wasn;t the Hutus given one country? Why should they be in Rwanda and Burundi? Why should Tutsis also be in Rwanda and Burundi? Two people populous enough to form two countries were halved and placed in two different countries? The Europeans knew that there would be little effort at progress for such countries.

You think so? Why don’t Lagos state start war today? The regions were too powerful that was why the East was able to call the bluff of the center and the center emboldened by the two other region responded in idiocy. If it were 30 states at least 2 states from the north and west could have said no to war

ITS JUST FUNNY GOING BACK AND FORTH. THE OP SUPPORTS OBI TO BE PRESIDENT OF NIGERIA AND ALSO SUPPORTS BIAFRA AT THE SAME TIME. SEE CONFUSION.

Gowon abolished the regions for good when he created 12 states. Thats even not the point, the point is Nigeria should have been three countries from the beginning

The regions were too powerful and that is why the East could challenge the center, right?
The regions were already stripped of their power before Ojukwu declared his secession. As a matter of fact, Ojukwu was part of the junta which made Nigeria a unitary state.
Why should Lagos start a war? For what purpose?

Ironsi abolished federalism as envisaged by the British and Nigerians themselves. Stop trying to rewrite history. It won't work.

US is a migrants country. They are people who came from Europe to seek a better future, so to a large extent, they had a common goal. That's why they are successful unlike Nigeria, where the Yoruba interest (crude oil and gas from SE and SS), Northern interest (crude oil from SE and SS) and Eastern interest ( a different country) \, Southern minority interest (a large share from their crude oil) collide.

Ironsi did not. Gowon did. Even if he did, why have you not reversed what one man did after 60 years? Because you love it or you're too intellectually lazy to try.

Don't mind them. The are confuse and greedy people once it doesn't favour them the start talking TRASH. Same person that supports Peter Obi to be President of a united Nigeria are the same person that is in support of a separated Nigeria.

Had Obi been president they won't come up with talks like this. SLEFISH, GREEDY LOTS.

What is federalism?

Secondly, what specific date or month did Ironsi unify the civil service?

Thirdly, what month was Ironsi killed

Lastly, when were the 12 states created?

There's a clouse in that arrangement that if the union didn't work after 100yrs, there shall be a referendum to decide if all the tribes wants to continue.

This is what MNK is fighting for but some criminal politicians won't consent to it.
