Idaytesj29: ^^^ ![]() It defies logic that whole villages (hundreds or thousands strong) in Nigeria get together time and again and everyone in the village joins in the decision to murder soldiers. This is the slothful thinking that is used to justify and rationalize the slaughter of innocent Nigerians who know nothing about the criminal behaviour of others - and these innocents pay the price in the end. The proper and sensible thing to do when soldiers (or anyone really) is unlawfully killed by persons at large is to carry out an investigation, arrest, prosecute etc. That's the way it works in places that know what they are doing. That's the way it works in places that have rules. Not invading your own country with your own soldiers and burning Nigerian villages to the ground. The blood of innocent villagers who have been killed in these punitive expeditions calls from the ground and no propaganda can stand against that blood that is asking for justice. The truth is what it is. |

vince96w2: ^^^ ![]() Interesting. In your prior post you justified military attack on Nigerian villages without considering the lives of the innocent. In this post however, you have a thousand and one excuses for why the war against terrorists remains unwon. When it comes to sacking Nigerian villages and burning them to the ground, there is maximum efficiency by the Nigerian army. But when it comes to weeding out saboteurs and fifth columnists within their own ranks, all we hear are stories and excuses like the ones you have above. It makes no sense. |

Fujiyama: What is the crime of the murdered soldiers? They want to settle communal crisis and that was not nobel enough but death is the commendation right? After the incident, did the village head and the villagers not shield the criminals? Did they offer the authorities assistance in locating the assailants? If they can kill soldiers like that, who knows how many innocent people had been killed in that same village. Cos it take a lot of balls to kill a soldier, to kill that many, speaks to the criminal enterprise going on there. Next time, they will think twice before killing people, soldiers or civilians. |

Idaytesj29: ^^^ ![]() You are dodging the issue. Nobody is supporting the killing of soldiers on lawful, official duty. Get that straight. It is the army's response to the killings that is the problem. If reasonable people do not support the unlawful killing of soldiers, why should they support the unlawful killing of innocent villagers? ![]() Idaytesj29: ^^^ ![]() So...the village head and some villagers "shielded" the criminals. And the solution is to burn the village to the ground and kill every living thing in sight? Is that the solution? Some of you just want to justify wrongdoing. But the facts are what they are. It was not the whole village that murdered those soldiers and that is the truth, whether anyone likes it or not. Idaytesj29: ^^^ ![]() You speak as if soldiers are not ordinary humans who bleed red like the rest of us. The issue is that a crime was committed and the law should have been allowed to take its course. That's what civilized countries do. Not burning an entire village to the ground. Idaytesj29: ^^^ ![]() Who is "they"? You obviously want to give a dog a bad name in order to hang it. The good thing about Nigeria is that what goes round comes round. There is more than enough misery for anybody - and those who celebrate oppression today will be its victims tomorrow. That's just the way it is. You would do well to do some research on the late army chief, Victor Malu and his experience (as a civilian) with Nigerian soldiers whom he once commanded at the highest level. |
