the point here is that whatever happens, going forward, Tinubu has done the right thing and it cannot be reversed.

Already there is subsidy whether they call it subsidy or not, to reduce fuel prices, you have to return to subsidized Naira, to return to subsidized Naira there will be no money for the government (dont forget when Tinubu came to power 97% of our income was deployed to repaying loans hence why Buhari printed money like a drunken sailor)

.....so we will just have to bear the pain.

Mark this post and save it. whoever suceeds Tinubu whether in 2027 0r 2031 will not return to the subsidy regime of either fuel or dollar...because they cannot afford to. he will be criticized but sensible people know Tinubu has done the hard work for them.

Why are we always quick to point fingers?

Obasanjo should remember that the issues with fuel subsidy didn't start today. Tinubu is trying to navigate through a maze of challenges left behind by previous administrations.

Instead of casting blame, let’s support the efforts to find a sustainable solution. We need to look at the bigger picture and give room for progress, no matter how slow it may seem.

What’s important is that we keep pushing for better policies and hold the government accountable, not just criticize from the sidelines.
Criticism is part of democracy. Even Tinubu did the same as opposition

The people who ruined Nigeria:

Gowon
Buhari
Babangida
Abacha
Abdulsalam
Obasanjo
Yar'Adua
Goodluck
Tinubu

7 out of the 9 are still alive today

One of them is blaming everyone but himself, even though he was president twice.

Obasanjo should focus on his own legacy instead of critiquing Tinubu. The man is trying to make tough decisions for the country. Let's give him the chance to steer the ship without all these distractions.

Please, what chance did he and his party give to Jonathan between 2012 and 2014 to steer this same ship?!!

Obasanjo needs to understand that progress comes with challenges. Tinubu's decision to remove the subsidy was a bold step towards long-term economic growth. I am simply telling you the reality. You cannot spend what you do not have. If you are borrowing g to survive and collecting g urgent 20k from friends and family, eventually you will get to a point where friends and family don’t answer you and you have to adjust your life style or taking a demeaning job or do the unthinkable to survive.

That’s the reality of Nigeria. Wes re now faced with adjusting our lifestyle. Like it or not IMF or no IMF. There is no money to fund schools roads etc as well as fund forex Electricity and fuel subsidies. How we got here is immaterial, this is where we are!

Do you people understand what it means when they say we were spending 97% of all government revenue to pay our loans? Imagine if you had borrowed so much or lived a false life to the point that when you get your salary, 97% of it is used to pay your loans!! It means despite having a job you probably can’t even afford to eat!! Tinubu’s in 1 year has reduced that to 64%. That is why government workers can even receive salaries talk less increase in wages, that is why we can still embark on projects.

I really do t think you people u derstand that government finances had come to a stand still as at May 29. Nobody was answering our requests for urgent 20k anymore!!!

Why can't government remove subsidy completely for two months and use the money saved to fix our refineries?

What are these people not telling us...or is it rocket science? If fuel is refined locally won't it be cheaper? And the pressure on the naira will also reduce.

What is truly the problem?
Re: Fuel Subsidy Is Back – Obasanjo Faults President Tinubu’s Claim On Removal by Bluntemperor: 5:36pm On Aug 06
Trendtips:
I'm skeptical about the return of fuel subsidies. In my opinion, it's best to remove them entirely. However, the government should have implemented a gradual phase-out plan, combining structural development with social welfare measures. This approach would have mitigated the harsh impact on citizens. Unfortunately, the abrupt removal has left people feeling helpless, affecting both the vulnerable and the resilient alike

Good talk,bro!
But we are now facing the Situations and what remains is for Tinubu to tell Nigerians- through Corrupt and NNPC lame- dock- when are we going to have the Refineries fixed and reduced the Price?
NNPC,had postpone the recovery of this Fuel-more than three times - when the Refineries will work and now is late December, according to them!
•We need Functional Refineries, accordingly. This is why NNPC is not allowing Dangote to release their Fuel because of bad-belly - Politics, thereby Punishing Nigerians,on lower Prices, because once Dangote- set, then,Nigerians will see that, its an indictments on the NNPC.
The NNPC is just a glorified Corrupt riden Institution.
