I am not the one changing topics here, you asked me about IMF, I agreed. I asked you to give me the figures. Actual figures that back your assertion that there is mnoney to pay subsidies without floating the naira and all you have been doing is to show your parents should have used a condom and when they did give birth to you they should not have wasted their money or the governments resources saying they are sending you to school.
ignoramus talking about supplementary budget in an effort to sound enlightened to his ignorant audioence not realising he is arguing against himself. The only reason govt had money for a supplementary budget is 1) because they removed subsidies and he floated the Naira both actions resulting in more naira for the govt....the exact things you say they should not have done!!!

Obasanjo should remember that the issues with fuel subsidy didn't start today. Tinubu is trying to navigate through a maze of challenges left behind by previous administrations.

Instead of casting blame, let’s support the efforts to find a sustainable solution. We need to look at the bigger picture and give room for progress, no matter how slow it may seem.

What’s important is that we keep pushing for better policies and hold the government accountable, not just criticize from the sidelines.

Obasanjo was talking trash.

What efforts did he put in place when he was there?

He too was increasing pump price every 6 months as the price was going up in the international market.

I'm not surprised to read this from a man who thinks he's the best in the world.

Tinubu was only trying to get subsidy off our back forever.

Walk with me.

Crude oil price is rising in dollars
Naira is losing value to the dollars
We spend dollars to import the fuel
Yet the naira price of fuel is stable at the pumps.

How is this price stability possible considering the gradual devaluation of the naira and the rising price of crude oil?

Please, stop defending the indefensible. It doesn't make any sense at all.
Did you understand what Obj said?
He was a 2Term civilian president and once a military head of state. So he knows what you don't know. Tinubu is the cause of the hardship we are facing now, by his thoughtless decision and statement on fuel subsidy removal, when he hasn't even sat on the chair even for a minute.
Obj, is saying, the haste to remove, caused inflation that has brought it back again.
Can't you understand that the fuel subsidy is back again, despite Tinubu's denial that it has been removed and can't be restored again. Obj knows what he is saying please.

Pls explain to me what you think Tinubu will enjoy from denying that subsidy is back.

Instead of him to say he is paying subsidy whears he is not paying and he will be diverting the money to his pocket

When u increase energy price also increase electricity tariff and tax, then your internal production will crumble. Prices will increase because of production cost and some companies will leave. Then u depend on imports and ur currency and economy will fall.

Jonathan sacrificed trillions on fuel to maintain d price at #97. Everything work and our economy became d best in Africa.
Tinubu generate steady funds from crude sales but decided to generate excess profit on Nigerians.
He's d architect of Nigeria economy doom. All d profit is spent lavishly . Robbing poor Nigerians and Sharing d proceed with governors and his cabals

And how are the refineries supposed to "work", when the price of their output is lower than the cost of their inputs? With what funds are they to be repaired, and then maintained? Where is the money to cover their losses supposed to come from? Is it with the very same FG revenue that's being guzzled by the oil subsidies you want kept in place?

It's funny how those who lack an understanding of basic financial concepts of profit and loss are the quickest to offer their imagined insights into economic problems ...

What are you talking about? You just wrote rubbish trying to claim knowledge of the financial concept, where you not in this country when 90bn was giving to people to go for tourists in Saudi Arabia, you are asking me where the money will come from, what input are you talking about? Our crude oil for local consumption is now a major issue when it nows becomes a use for the masses, but you are very comfortable with the few stealing and living far from it. We can't continue importing fuel for a few to benefit.

You and your thieves can take your fake financial concept to hell, we need the refineries to work simple

The way you people want to talk those analysing Tinubu mistep and advising him is very hilarious. You will talk of Tinubu's failure and point to problem with other previous administrations
Is it not Tinubu that maliciously campaigned against the good economic initiative of previous administrations and take Nigeria to where he is talking of removing subsidy like a gangster and one who have the magic wand to remove what he mobilised people against before? During Obasanjo regime. Okonjo Eweala as finance minister canvassed for creation of excess crude account to cushion the raining days, Tinubu and dem Amaech said taa, over their dead body, they said constitution doesn't recognise eccess crude account, they got court injection, shared the money and squandered it. Jonathan administration came with Okonjo Eweala calling for creation of sovereign wealth fund, Tinubu got his apc cabal together campaigned and mobilised ignorant Nigerians against every good initiative of the government. They opposed subsidy removal saying subsidy doesn't exist. They idiotically ran the country economic aground with the hope of grabbing power at all cost. Now they have the power and wants to convince the people to accept what they once described as lies, what set of insane people. Tinubu and apc have lost credibility with people, the people have seen them for what they are- liars and desperate power grabbers. Their govt lacked credibility rooted in trust and it will be difficult for him to rule. His arrogance, dearing people to protest as long as they like when he removes the subsidy has come back to hunt him. People are protesting now, he is there shitting in pant and you are here reprimanding Obasanjo for saying the truth. If I may ask you, do you think Tinubu is not paying subsidy anymore with current exchange rate and prevailing crude price?

Tinubu is trying to get subsidy he once mobilised people against off our back? The same subsidy Tinubu and his apc cabals vowed didn't exist? Some of you are so ridiculous with your arguments for Tinubu. Una case dey pathetic, una sycophancy is hopelessly incurable. Tinubu is one the mumu who took Nigeria to this precipice of economic woes

Obasanjo needs to understand that progress comes with challenges. Tinubu's decision to remove the subsidy was a bold step towards long-term economic growth. We can't keep holding onto short-term fixes that stifle our potential. Change is hard, but necessary for a brighter Nigeria. Let’s support our president as he navigates these tough waters.

What is same people. Tinubu, Atiku and Obi all said they will removed subsidy same day of resumption if won. Sowore said he will first of all fix the refinery. Back then, I said I will agree with Sowore's choice, cos things were already on the high side. Truly the subsidy was an organized crime, according to Obi but the wisest decision would have been Mr President allowing NNPC to wholly refined crude from abroad, pending when the refinery start fully operational. Atiku and Obi would not have done anything differently in terms of removal of subsidy and the immediate consequences.

The last paragraph of your statement is a big yes for me. Your parents didn't waste money on your education. Yes ! Subsidise crude supply to Dangote and other local refineries for domestic consumption and employ technology to track movements of refined pms and diesel out of the refineries to respective destinations so as to prevent smuggling to the neighbouring countries besides tight border security. It all requires political will...not really difficult to achieve with boost in oil production from the current 1.6m b/dy.
