This is the definition of the lives that matters because many people were killed in the east in the mask of "Operation python dance and Operation crocodile dance" and nothing has been done about it.

Mynd44:

When you attacked armed security officers, you are not an "innocent peaceful protester"

You become a willing participant in an armed conflict.

Officers have the same right to live and security as protesters, if you as protesters want to attack them, they have the right to self-defence.

From the account up their (if true) nothing will happen. The officer will only be redeployed.

Same thing happens with American police officers and citizens. If you attack them, they will respond

and yet the army wants to go and condole with family of a person that was not an "innocent peaceful protester".

Saddened by the unfortunate incident, the Chief of Army Staff Lt Gen Taoreed Abiodun Lagbaja has sent a high-powered delegation led by the General Officer Commanding 1 Division Maj Gen Lander Saraso to visit and condole with the family of the deceased.

does it make sense?

When you find yourself in the middle of a rowdy meeting, keeping silent and observing the goings-on can work wonders.
Not participating in this protest has done wonders for Igbo.
Now, we can see clearly ALL angles to the problem.
Staying out of this protest may prove to be Igbo best political move in decades.
Who knew that a Nigerian soldier can be arrested or even questioned for gunning down a protesting youth? A practice that is the norm in the East?
Well now you know!
We still dey Looku and Laafu.

Rubbish talk!
Igbo were actually observing their IPOB and Simon Ekpa directives, which incidentally fell on the same date of the Sit- At Home,in the East.
In Lagos and other Western part, the Igbo boys actually supported the Protest and even on Nairaland Forum- Social Media, just like they claimed they won elections, they were actually in forefront of the game,so telling Nigerians what we know is not making sense!

Until we start taking human lives seriously as citizens in this country, our security men would not.

What happened to going with rubber bullets and protests gear.

If the protester was using a fire arm. Your argument would have held true.

Stone to BULLET. Alaye think am. We should stop normalizing some levels of unprofessionalism from our security men.

Nothing would happen, if nobody holds the officer accountable for manslaughter. It would be buried. But if someone does. I can guarantee that, he would go for it.

This is exactly what Atiku warned about yet you criticize him, you should all be happy about this news...evil people. You families will be victims too one day

Chinkoalhaji34:
Bayo is just saying what many are thinking.

Atiku really needs to wake up and realize that this constant self-deprecation isn’t helping his image. If he keeps on this path, he’ll just become a shadow of himself.

emkz:
Earlier, Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 and 2023 elections issued a diatribe against the military which he shared on his verified Twitter handle and Facebook and published here:

https://www.nairaland.com/8177447/atiku-service-chiefs-dont-use

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Information and Strategy, issued a right of reply which

Bayo Onanuga
Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy

emkz:
I read Atiku's submission and extracted the following:

(1) Atiku never condemned insurrectionists who waved the Russian flag.

(2) Atiku never dissociated himself from those who asked for regime change and asked Tinubu to resign and hand over to Atiku.

(3) Atiku was speaking tongue-in-cheek against the violent protesters. The fact is that the majority were rioting in Kano, Kaduna and Jigawa.

(4) Atiku issued a subtle threat against the military and said they'd be brought to book. Atiku Abubakar, no sensible commander in chief openly censures his troops. If the troops mess up, he takes the fall. Atiku also called on UN and ICC to closely monitor the situation in Nigeria and hold the leadership and security accountable. Time and time again, Atiku proves why he is unfit to lead any country. You don't undermine your own country like that.

(5) Atiku has not commiserated with the families of the dead and has not even visited to pretend to show concern.

(6) Atiku has not joined the rioters to show solidarity.

Someone made a comment about Atiku on his statement reproduced as follows:

Former Vice President Atiku, I highlighted Paul Ibe from professorPABX's submission because you'd recall on your birthday November last year and in May this year, I suggested to you as follows:

I had to reproduce this to remind you that what I said earlier about some of these people are now seen by others. These people need to guide you properly. Your media appearances and some of your tweets have only shown you as desperate.

You had no business threatening our armed forces. That was taking buffoonery too far.

olaiya2007:
He didn't condemn the violent protest, looting & destruction of properties but quick to condemn the military

trutharena:
ATIKU, the only thing diminishing is your credibility, my guy!

Philipponzaghi:
Atiku don dey show himself again. Instead of calming the storm, he dey fan am. Na him be the real instigator wey no fit see beyond his nose. This one no be leadership, na wahala he dey promote!

helinues:
Abi

Elder statesman don dey turn to elder stalesman

Salewa97:
Atiku is just playing to the gallery again. It's baffling how a former VP can prioritize rioters over the rule of law. Instead of showing leadership, he’s only fueling chaos. Time to grow up, Atiku!

Seunex2:
Atiku wants to become president through backdoor but he has forgotten he is playing a game with person that is more smarter than he is

EponObi:
cheesy Nice tackle, Onanuga. You write this one well.

Dependable 4! Gennaro Gattuso, during his peak, no do pass this one. cheesy cheesy

The political Rodri of our time. Gbefun, march am, squeeze am; no let am breathe grin

ObosiLandlord:
Atiku is just a disgrace

The same man who refused to criticize Islamic fanatic who killed a christian girl in sokoto has now found his voice

Thank God for the internet, it is now easier to identify evil minded people and children of the devil by their thoughts and comments. So, you guys have the mind to criticize someone because he warned the security forces not to use lethal force (live bullets) on protesters.

You all want the security forces to be killing the protesters including your families because you support Tinubu, You don't want a military regime but behave far worse than a military regime yet claim to be in Democracy.

Politics doesn't mean you should not use your brain to think like a normal human being.

You are all murderers for supporting murder...your rewards awaits you.
