Useless people thinking they can bribe their way to imaginary heaven. The money could have been used to provide vocational education and training to indigent young people within their immediate community. These would have added value to life and contribute to local and national development. Learn from history. In centuries past, slave merchants who were cashing in on fellow human beings (black Africans), donated hugely to the Roman Catholic Church and the Church of England. The donations were used to build churches. Some of them were buried within the nave and precincts of church buildings. Today, some of the churches have become dysfunctional, sold, and repurposed as bars, flats, and worst still mosques or gay bars. The effigies and gravestones of donours trashed and binned. Nothing lasts forever. Invest in humanity not in unverifiable divinity. |
