Vicjustice:From his post, he sounded like the embassy explicitly told him he had been banned. But I know the embassy does not do that. A friend also thought that he had been banned cos the ECO said the birth certificate he presented with his application was fake. He reapplied and was given... This was 2008 though... Even at that, I'm not giving the guy false hope. I only wanted to know if he was certain that he had been banned. Sometimes people just assume. |

Vicjustice: Plz state some reasons why d eco won't overturn his decision. In my case, I heard my bank statement isn't necessary, that they only need dat of my sponsor. A frnd of mine, unemployed like me, was granted visa, and he only stated dat he will be returning because he wil be doing his masters soon |

Vicjustice: Hi, Question, Can i use Nigeria Bank Master card ? Are they going to charge the credit card if i provide it ? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by DisGuy: 11:42am On Aug 22, 2013 |
^^ won't hurt trying a Nigerian mastercard.. depending on the hotel ,some will charge you straight away whilst some will charge you 24hrs to your due date- -read the terms and conditions- it will be stated clearly or you can always give them a ring |

foce: Pls huz my younger brother, just received 10years ban the ECO's reason was that he did not mentioned that he has been refused visa 3times in 2006 with the old passport, our taught was that since it was more than 5years ago that they must have destroyed his previews applications. right now I want to know if there is any form of appeal to reduce the ban or something Your brother might be able to overturn this ban if you can answer these questions: 1. Did he include the old passport in the application? 2. Was the old passport stamped at each of the 3 period he was refused? If your answer is yes, then this will be termed an “innocent mistake” which is permissible by the guidance for the ECOs in the treatment of such application. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Vicjustice: 11:48am On Aug 22, 2013 |
wola44:Unfortunately, Nigerian credit cards are not accepted in most western country businesses, many thanks to the fraudulent activities of Nigerian syndicates. Once before, my brother booked a flight to Ireland from Nigeria, the flight confirmation came up, and the itinerary was issued, but days passed by, and then, one week, two weeks and still counting, but his account wasn't charged. With concern, I advised him to contact Airfrance customer care who later informed him that their system automatically cancels or voids any ticket that is purchased in Nigeria without cash. So, be aware that same thing could happen with hotel reservation. 1 Like |

solomonwis:He did not include the old passport The old passports has the refusal stamps thou, He didn't know that they still have his 2006 data and you know the biometrics is not in use then so he though since its over 7years that they must have destroyed it,coupled with the introduction of the new nigerian passport. It was only a mistake |

I thought you had your question answered already You chances are high I'd say; you have previously applied and never had a problem keeping to the terms of your visas was the main sponsor retired during the previous applications? One of the things that bothers me is that in my mum's form, we stated there that she is supported by spouse who earns pension of 350k and rents of over 4m annually. Do you think we would have any problem with the visa renewal? in your previous applications what were her circumstances? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Raphel2011: 8:35pm On Aug 22, 2013 |
Thanks for the swift reply. The sponsor was retired in the last application (5 years ago). My mum retired 8 years ago, so her circumstance wass basically the same as it is now. The main thing that bothers me is the amount he has in the account as of the time we applied. I'm looking forward to your reply. Thanks a lot Dis Guy: I thought you had your question answered already |

Yagga!!!!! I was called today by UKBA around 2PM (A cool, kind of Nigerian male voice). I've been worried sick why my application is taking too long. Unfortunately, d officer claimed "they" have been trying to get across to me for some time now (damn!!!, airtel sucks). It really was a big relief. Hopefully, wld pick up my visa next week. (Checking d date and time of dis post) I Should be MMIA right now excited for my first ever visit to the UK. N.B- if yur app is taking too long, keep your fone lines active and check your emails sometimes. |

uchechuwku: Yagga!!!!! What was their reason for calling? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by uchechuwku: 10:58pm On Aug 22, 2013 |
solomonwis:He said "they" have been trying to get through to my sponsor for an acknowledgement email from a "body" that showed up on one of d docs. Apparently, they've tried, but not successful, so I shld get my sponsor for him to get an email across to them. I was just saying "yes, okay, okay, yes,". After d call, I was like "wetin nah, his number is all over d IV letter nah even with seal sef, why yu no call him ursef nah" Sponsor cum vex, write dem back (CC'ied me) say na official matter nah, give dem fone numbers, emails, fax numbers, etc etc say make dem no dey send am message (no be so him write am oooo). D tin is he had to drive all d way to d office and d person in charge said dey never got any email or calls requesting for details frm UKBA. That dey can't email UKBA cos someone said they should, that it isan official issue. I just dey middle now ooo (holding my head) |

shalon: Hello guys,I want to share my experience .i was refused renewal based on the following refusal note given to me You wish to visit for 10days and I am aware that you were previously granted a visit visa. With that application you stated that you intend to spend 7 days and provided hotel reservation but end up spending 1 month. You provided no evidence or any details as to why you stayed longer or how you maintained your self during the extended visit. Furthermore checks by our office revealed that you made hotel reservation using false credit card details(which was a pure lie cos I used my Gtb bank card to reserve it and I subsequently cancelled the reservation cos I could nt travel at the stated period. In view of the above,I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor.I therefore refused your application .Your right of appeal is limited to the ground blab blab . I have to say that I am a widely travelled individual with good business here.Been to us,canada, schegen many times, even have a valid 1 year schegen and us visa.. It all happened in late December and I never bothered to write or reapply cos I see them as being unnecessarily racist and just want to be exploiting money from applicants though I didn't apply for two years cos I don't see the justification for paying 73 k as visa fee while us is just 26k and Germany is 12800 for a year visa. Please I want to know if my case over the false credit card attract 10 years ban because I never used a false credit card cos all I did was to reserve room not to make payment.please advise. |

Hi Justwise, I recently got a Job in the UK and will be coming home to apply for a tier 2 visa as i am on a visit visa. I have all the required documentation, only thing that concerns me is claiming points for English language. I do already have IELTS, problem is its expired (was taken for medical licensing exams). I was wondering if i can claim points with my University degree or O level English language results. Is it better i retake the IELTS? Thanks. |

shalon: shalon: Hello guys,I want to share my experience .i was refused renewal based on the following refusal note given to meIt's not because you stayed longer than 10 days that you're having this problem, it's because other things have gone wrong, and they have now brought your previous stay into question: it is not a breach of visa conditions to stay for 5 months even if you declared that you'd be staying for 7 days, but you may be subjected to explain why you stayed that long and how you manage yourself during the stay. If the information that you have given is accurate, then you are a victim of circumstance, but you're to blame partially, this will serve as a caution to others who like to book a hotel and then cancel it in order to keep their money: this rampant act may soon force hoteliers to apply restrictions to people booking hotels from Nigeria. You made a huge mistake by not requesting for administrative review during the window period, it will be near impossible for you to fight it now... I'm of the opinion that you've been banned for 10 years for this error which the visa officer considers the use of fraud and deception. Worse still, if your passport bears visa of these countries that you mentioned the UK embassy could contact the embassies concerned to advise them that you're a fraudster and that would mean a wider problem |

was also surprised he used that language even and still considers it a good place to visit many things i dont understand about our people--you go through so much hassle to visit a place then come back and mouth off- "ahh what is in that place sef, they just want our money" stay principled people! if you dont like a country why worry so much about what they do, there are many other options |

Thanks Guys for your contributions.Maybe I should just say this, this forum is all about sharing ideas.First of all,I didn't cancelled the hotel cos of money,I did because I couldnt travel as the reserved period, secondly I was never aware that I could ask for an administrative review and since the period which I intend to travel has passed,I never felt it was necessary to reapply cos I wasn't desperate.I applied cos I wanted to travel in December not after that.Lastly It is possible for me to ask my lawyer to email clarifying the aspect of a false credit card.I don't intend to travel to the UK now or in the nearest future.I need constructive advice. |
