justwise: The car’s competitiveness is an issue but Hamilton has clearly gambled on the capitalising on new engine regulations in 2014, when a 1.6-litre V6 turbo will be introduced. Mercedes, as one of the sport’s manufacturer teams, are expected to throw everything at that season. Brawn yesterday said there was no reason that the team could not be competitive in 2013, arguing that the recruitment of a glut of experienced F1 engineers over the last 12-18 months would begin to show in 2013. “I think we can [be competitive],” he said. “Next year is very important and it has got to be another strong progression. We have been a patchy this year. We have won a race but we have not been consistent enough. “The changes we have made at in the last two years will be measured in 2013. Geoff Willis, Aldo Costa, Mike Elliott, our new head of aero. I’m very excited about Mike. He’s a really strong guy. That has to show through in 2013 and I am pretty optimistic and confident that it will.” In 2014 Ferrari, Renault (Lotus) and Mercedes would have a huge advantage over the rest Did I mention that he also have inside knowledge of next years car info which he could easily take across |

omar22: Very interesting |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by montelik(m): 8:54pm On Sep 28, 2012 |
Well glad that is over with very quickly. For me this is a lateral move, where he gains nothing. I don't believe for a second Mercedes are all of a sudden going to blow Ferrari, RB, Mclaren, Lotus even Sauber away next season. Best case scenario, Lewis will most likely end up with a car as good as any he had at Mclaren, but not better. Mercedes have even worse relaibility problems than Mclaren have had. I can forsee more pit-stop drama, frustrating communications over the team radio concerning his car e.t.c. But at least he will make much more money. But from a WDC perspective I don't see how he has aided he chances. In fact its more likely he has harmed them. |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 3:31am On Sep 29, 2012 |
^^ He probably feels since he can't win a WDC with this present car why stay for less money as well Either way now we know this championship is more or less between Alonso and Vettel I'd be suprised if anyone outside those two win it |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by justwise(m): 6:30am On Sep 29, 2012 |
A-40: You can't say that for certain yet, LH may want to leave MClaren with a win, the point gap is nothing yet, 3 races can clear that up |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 10:24am On Sep 29, 2012 |
justwise: [/b]Lol with that car and those errorists at McLaren? I really doubt that Button is also still in the running and you just feel one has to step down for the other for the team to stand a chance plus Hammy is too much of an emotional driver and an emotional driver is prone to mistakes. If you where a betting man would you bet on Hamilton? |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by justwise(m): 11:34am On Sep 29, 2012 |
A-40: Yes i will put money on LH any day, he could be an emotional driver but he is also a bloody good driver. |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by Nobody: 12:21pm On Sep 29, 2012 |
well since Mc Laren has to pay about 6Million for engines next year, we can understand why they want to cut cost at every end (drivers included). but we all know that anyone who has a talented driver such as Ham on their team, has nothing to worry about BUT THE CAR. sadly some people are being fooled by the young new drivers out there that are shining (perez/Grosjean etc) |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 1:26am On Sep 30, 2012 |
justwise:I mean a real bet like betting with your friend or a colleague and not going to Ladbrokes or Betfred. Any opportunist can put their money on the long shot |

Where is that ninja that still wants to bet on Hamilton? Where u @ put em up put em up!! 50$ 50€ 50£ 100$ 100€ 100£ |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by babyboy3(m): 9:48am On Oct 09, 2012 |
A-40: Hamilton's fate was sealed when he said he is joining another team and the main fact that Lewis has vast amount of knowledge of McLaren MP4-28 thats coming out next year is worrying for MW and the team. Lewis winning the and WDC and leaving would be like Fernando walking out on Benatton after winning back to back titles with them. It wont happen most especially with mcLaren that has a very long history of screwing up drivers. |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 8:12pm On Oct 09, 2012 |

Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 10:38am On Oct 13, 2012 |
RBR one-two with Webber on pole! Lewis 3rd Alonso 4th and Kimi 5th Massa 6th Grosjean 7th Hollywood would struggle to come up with this kind of script. I'm expecting absolute mayhem tomorrow!! |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by montelik(m): 1:07pm On Oct 13, 2012 |
Vettel form in final races is always ridiculous. Unless Ferrari pull something out of no where, this looks increasingly like Vettel in total control. Everyone behind Grosjean at p7 better be sharp once the lights go out tomorrow. |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 2:15pm On Oct 13, 2012 |
Kimi also thinks he has got a chance with his new exhaust. The ironic thing is both Kimi and Alonso are neck and neck on the grid. Alonso must be a bit paranoid about that. As for Grosjean lol everyone from 5th place to 9th needs to say some serious prayers Also we know how slow Webber can be getting out of the blocks the key thing would be Vettel overtaking him if he is able to do that at the start then Hamilton and Alonso are in deep merda |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 7:52am On Oct 14, 2012 |
Ahhh just like I expected Vettel attacks and passes Webber at the first corner Alonso also went past Ham so its Vettel,Webber,Alonso,Ham,Massa,Kimi |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 7:57am On Oct 14, 2012 |
Ham is having a disastrous race though. Passed by Massa already and Kimi. Vettel is tearing away but Webber struggling to hold off Alonso |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 8:12am On Oct 14, 2012 |
That was close Bastian don't phuck it up! Hamilton now in 6th Vettel Webber Alonso Massa Raikonnen Massa driving for his life. Lol and the Rari's are just telling him off! He dare not pass Alonso suprisingly he actually looks like he can? What did Felipe smoke these last two races? |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 8:40am On Oct 14, 2012 |

A-40: Vettel didnt win in 2010, Alonso did Outstanding drive by Seb. Clearly those first few turns said there are no team orders yet at RBR, but clearly there are at Ferrari. 'Felippe, Fernando is slower than you, so back off please." At least now Felippe no longer has ringing in his ears - "Fernando is faster than you." |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 12:48pm On Oct 14, 2012 |
baby-boy:I was actually talking about this season. Singapore,Suzuka,Yeongam baby-boy:Lol Alonso usually thrives where he is number 1 any little competition and the moaning, groaning and sulking starts. Its frustrating that it took a potential release from Ferrari to bring this out of Massa who has never been a bad driver! This Ferrari is a lot faster than most Alonso fanboys would admit You do feel that Mark Webber and Felipe Massa would play a huge role in deciding who becomes champion between Vettel and Alonso Nightmare for McLaren tho. Hamilton with a rear suspension failure dragged him down almost out of the points zone and Kobayashi crashed Rosberg n Button out of the race at the very start |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by justwise(m): 3:41pm On Oct 14, 2012 |
A-40: Don't get cocky yet, the race is still open, any driver can have a bad day in office, couple of wks ago Alonso was having a healthy lead now its completely wiped out, that can happen to Vettel as well no matter how good his car is at the moment. Webber definitely obeyed team order from start, you don't need to be a rocket scientics to see that. |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by A40(m): 4:18pm On Oct 14, 2012 |
justwise: [/b]Its not about being cocky afterall the McLaren's have the fastest car out there. At least for the last two races. They aren't just managing their resources well enough! The way everyone keeps going about the Red Bulls like the other guys are driving Keke Napep. I agree anybody can have a bad day but Vettel has had his! Remember Monza? Anyway let's cut the speech and Martin Luther chat! You think Ham has a chance then put your money where your mouth is justwise: [/b]Team orders my blockus! Who does not know that Webber is naturally slow off the blocks? Alonso woulda overtaken him too afterall he passed a quicker Hamilton |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by justwise(m): 4:36pm On Oct 14, 2012 |
A-40: Webber and Massa are puppies to Vettel and Alonso, they are there to fulfill all righteousness, Webber just gave way for Vettle from start, no challenge at all, LW had a bad day yes and that can be any driver's position any racing day, with the number of races remaining you can not write off LW |
Re: Formula One Gee-Spot 2012 by babyboy3(m): 4:51pm On Oct 14, 2012 |
I honestly believe that Massa should try and put his car ahead of Alonso in Q3 and try and fly out of the blocks |
