Its nothing special seriously and they wont get a patent, so why the publicity? This is common physics really and its nothing special, undecided
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by merengue: 5:50pm On Feb 21, 2012
This is the worst example of shoddy "copy and paste" science I have ever seen. I schooled in O.O.U and drivers there use jerry cans as fuel tanks and their cars move from Point A to Point B, would you call that an "invention"? This is a very big joke and an attempt to whitewash Oyedepo's image.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by wellmax(m): 6:03pm On Feb 21, 2012
A step in the right direction and should be commended.
Tell me which other university has produced anything be it original or fake.
if they can do this today, they will do better tomorrow.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by kemmeye: 6:05pm On Feb 21, 2012
wtf is that piece of crap.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by bolargeez(m): 6:38pm On Feb 21, 2012
There is nothing new to invent again. Reinvention is the new invntion. China today is not inventing anything new. What they are doing is commercializing existing invention. They modified technology for various and also used cheap materials in their process. To me, this is a great step.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by dustydee: 6:45pm On Feb 21, 2012
They still did well.

Nice development

This is like calling, my user of inverters and batteries instead of noisy generators at home to generate electricity, innovative, fuel-less, noiseless, etc,

If this is a project, that Student should earn an F- grade.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by flexdee(m): 7:02pm On Feb 21, 2012
At least let's try to inspire them by given them thumbs up.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by waxrider: 7:06pm On Feb 21, 2012
Religion war again. Na wa oooo. Alumajiri school should go and build one. Abeg make we hear word jare.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by aglomar: 7:12pm On Feb 21, 2012
Great news. But CU doesn;t offer auto engineering. How come?

Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by smile4kenn(m): 7:19pm On Feb 21, 2012
This is rubb.ish

Primary or secondary school students should have done this as a science project.

This is not invention at all

Look up in Google and you will see millions of it.

All I see is a university looking for cheap glory to deceive ignorant Nigerians just like they do with their church.

None.sense and nonentity
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by Nobody: 7:30pm On Feb 21, 2012
While I'm impressed with their "invention" I will never ever celebrate mediocrity, They are actually not inventing anything, U cnt re-invent the wheel, You cn only make it better, Rather than go at an electric car why don't they try something smaller that they cn present at an international exhibition and even patent, and maybe something dt is useful for Nigerians, Naija wey no get electricity, This will fail at an international exhibition, Electric cars av gone much further than this, But to our own local champion kudos
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by Tolexander: 7:33pm On Feb 21, 2012
I think they suppose to build a generator also that will be carried in the car to charge the batteries so that there wont be a step ova in a barber's shop whenever the batteries are flat.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by Phemour: 7:42pm On Feb 21, 2012
what does the car use?
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by texazzpete(m): 7:49pm On Feb 21, 2012
See what people are hailing as an 'invention' and 'revolutionary'. In 2012!! May God help you people out of your mediocrity.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by AjanleKoko: 7:51pm On Feb 21, 2012
Hmm.
Reading this, I can say that, we don't understand science and engineering in Nigeria. This is no invention. This is some kinda electric car, loaded with 5 batteries.
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by Gentleboby: 8:30pm On Feb 21, 2012
Good job
But hope is not from fried pan to fire b/cos fuel is the pillar pole for Nigeria at this present, So consider nija before you introduce fuel less car oooooo
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by notababa: 8:44pm On Feb 21, 2012

They must have gotten their idea from Boko Haram! Definitely that 'car' look like something about to explode!!!
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by tlops(m): 9:17pm On Feb 21, 2012
hmm!
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by pato405(m): 9:42pm On Feb 21, 2012
i hope they also have 4 ore batteries at the back of the crap, abi na car?

i'm not surprised at all, can anything innovative come out of covenant univ? I'm NOT anywhere near engineering but I can conceptualise somethig better grin grin grin grin grin grin. yes! i mean much better than stripping a ready made car and inundating the engine compartment with lead acid accumulators.

what is there to gloat about this contraption? Originality = 0 [zero]

Mech Engine dept in that school should be shut down. SIMPLE!!!
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by samolina1(m): 10:13pm On Feb 21, 2012
You call this invention? I don't expect a Nigerian graduate, even science secondary student to be among those calling this junk an invention. These people are simply still in "stone-age" Infact, the new hybrid cars around now can walk within a city without using any energy source. I am not inspired at all!
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by harakiri(m): 10:16pm On Feb 21, 2012
A 1999 honda civic running on batteries. How "innovative". I guess all the church mugus money going to the GO's bank accounts finally paid off (over rated university with students paying insane school fees and yet they can't compete with students from botswana, zambia and rwanda).

Thank you. I guess they do not know that electric cars are already being driven in Europe!
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by hbrednic: 10:29pm On Feb 21, 2012
some peeps are celebrating this trash embarassed
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by sandysprax(m): 10:30pm On Feb 21, 2012
But really, these skilled mechanics around can do better than this. Just curious tho
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by Vansnickers: 10:53pm On Feb 21, 2012
Why are some people so @$#&%, convenant is trying to get on the path that WE expect our Universities to be on, and You Lot have the Nerve to come here and bash them or were you expecting them to unveil a flying Car?
GIVE THEM A BREAK!!!!!
Re: Covenant University Fuel-less Car Unvail! by Nobody: 11:54pm On Feb 21, 2012
Wow! Ds reminds me of primary school jets club daiz when i dzynd a miniature model of this invention! I used an electric motor like the one in your blender, powered by a turbo rechargeable lamp battery and a wired control! The car could reverse by pressing the button of the reverse connection! Believe me, dont you think this is a cheap invention that is being advertised here?, and i cant believe the poster mentioned "CU researchers", Please nairalanders, Is Dis a Research any Nigerian University should brag about even in there deplorable state?,
