By the same token, I will tell you it is not the Police call to judge your fitness for EMT unless you are physically in distress. The guy was not in distress. The EMT argument is a red herring. An average cop will pull over or interact with dozens of drunks/drug users a week and they will only send a small percentage to EMT - those who are physically in distress.

Guy, there was always going to be a sobriety test and an arrest. That was inevitable as the sun rising in the East. No trained cop will let a DUI go with a pat on the back unless for health reasons. The only problem with that encounter was the abruptness of the arrest. While watching the video I could see that this cop is devious and will drop the arrest on the guy like a ton of bricks after all that shalaye. What the cop should have done is explain kindly that it is his role to take him in if the breathalyzer comes back positive and not to worry that no harm will come to him etc etc.

Abeg let's bring the guy blood alcohol level so we can test the veracity of the EMT suggestion. A nigga with enough coordination to drive himself there, navigate a drive-through, perfectly grab a taser from another man's holster and run at good speed does not sound like EMT candidate.

Police will always have a justification for use of force as long as guns are at play. The point I've been trying to make to A40 is that 80% of these incidents are 2nd amendment incidents.

UK policy makers know that guns escalate mundane matters and decided not to give their Police guns. Meanwhile citizens easily acquiesce to arrest knowing their life is not in danger, and when they don't acquiesce, it doesn't turn deadly.
