Aunt Repogurl, no offence taken, I was just curious about the scenes you were talking about because I know I did my possible best not to go overboard when describing intimate scenes. I deliberately couched everything because I didn't want to lay emphasis on the act itself, but the signifcance of the act.smiley I didn't want us to lose sight of the message.

Describing a lovemaking scene can be tricky. The questions to ask are "what is the intent of the scene"? "What details are necessary to convey that intent"? "Am I writing soft porn or describing the consummation of lust/love?" Do I lay emphasis on the act itself? If I do, to what purpose? Who are my target audience? Is it suitable for that audience? How does it fit in with the plot? Etc etc etc
