[b]It will shock you that i have similar problem as my efforts to get my transcript from my alma mata has been like a camel passing through the eye of the needle while i graduate in 2001, got my notification and thereafter got my certificate. I am at a fixed now cos of the DV lottery selection as getting my transcript will help me in getting some exceptions for further studies.

Its unbelievable to think that getting transcript after over a decade in a Nigerian university will be a problem in the computer age. I lost 2 chances to study abroad as a result of this intentionally act of wickedness and you are treated with disdain by staff in exams and records with each of them passing the bulk. Mentioning the name of my school will rob on the ego of so many people on this forum and all around the world but since i seem not to be getting the desired result till date If in the nest few weeks i don't get it, I HAVE DECIDED TO PLAY IT DIRTY AND POSSIBLY SMEAR THE NAME OF THE SCHOOL IN THE PROCESS.[/b].


To those that are wondering, its a federal university in the south west of all places.

My dear, this will lead to visa denial, no doubt. The DV instructions are simple and strict. U need documents to prove everything u are/have. They don't need u explaining ur way through.
What u saying is like someone going there to talk his way thru how he is qualified thru education without the certs to show for it.

this is not about certificate is about marriage. marriage where a woman living with you as a girlfriend is still called marriage. why then do ppl go and legalize it after the lottery
i bet he has pics of him and the lady either going to church or a function. this alone is proof that the two of them were once together. although u are right this might lead to denial but he can try.

seal777: He registered DV 2013 as married ( even though they were just dating back then without a formal marriage done ) but unforunately they are no longer in good terms again while he is committed to someone else but he just discovered he has been selected in the current dv lottery 2013.

His case number is current for October already, He need to submit his application forms to KCC as soon as possible but He cant get back with his Ex Girlfriend as this would affect his current relationship with his fiancee ( She is aware of the scenario as we speak ) .

PLEASE ADVICE, WHATS THE WAY OUT?.

this issue is simple some people in Africa this days live with men they are not married to. everyone sees it as marriage maybe because the lady got pregnant for you. i believe you should explain to the co. this people are human beings and they understand issues explain to your co and pray. remember always tell the truth that is all they want

guys i realised long ago that temmytanny and gentiger are just joking with their words u guys should not take them seriously especially when they decide to be on each other's throat. i bet the two of them have been talking on phone.

anelka73: wanna know if they crosscheck selectees information on previous dv applications 4 consistancy. a friend entered dv 2010 as married and now enter dv 2014 as single ie never married. any future problems.

u just tell them the truth maybe u got divorced if so show them divorce papers. if it is parlor marriage make sure u explain it well. but if u are married u should know that marriage couples have advantage in the selection.

finished my interview some few hours ago. it was sucessful this were the questions i was asked

co: come on so so date for your visa do not make any travel plans before then

anyway just to chip in i realised at the interview a guy came in with his high school certificate and he had F in both english and maths. one of the co's told him that is ground for disqualification he told her he rewrote the exam that is novdec in ghana i believe is neco in nigeria well when asked where that result is he said he left it at home. pls go to the interview with all your certificates all they need is your high school anyway.

the dv does not cover extended family. it covers your children and spouse. no cousins

you are qualified with work experience. cause the eligibility is either 5 credits in ssce or 2 years work experience which you have. my advice is prepare well to answer about your work and bring enough evidence like payslips or bank statements.

temmytanny: when is your interview/ pls make sure you come back and tell us if they collected the AOS from you during ur interview

this is my honest opinion. the two of you are right. u are right in seeing to it that no one severe their relationship with their host due to aos. then again the lawyer is also thinking about someone being refused visa due to aos. so in conclussion find out if u need it and whiles aaking for it do not be forceful. as for the interview is this month i will share my experience.

temmytanny: u just like looking for excuse for your claims,my post is for ghanians and not Nigerians. The question was posted on ghana Embassy facebook website and reply was made saying it may not be needed. For Nigerians, someone(2013 DV winner) mailed lagos embassy about AOS and he got a straight reply that IT IS NOT NEEDED FOR NAIJA DV WINNERS
SO if i say it maybe needed for ghanians, does that mean Nigerians should also go and get it? Is Nigeria same as ghana?

DV-2014 entrants may enter their confirmation information through the link below starting at noon (EDT) on May 1, 2013. The DV-2014 registration period opens on October 2, 2012, and closes on November 3, 2012. DV-2014 entrants should keep their confirmation number until at least June 30, 2014. Additional entries may be selected in October 2013.

my question is this: is the random selection going to be holding twice or what?

i do not agree cause most of us need inputs from the people here who have already been through the process. and most of you are currently living there so after we also get our visas you can also help us with infos on flight bookings and getting our other papers based on your experience. if you close this thread most of you wont see the need to come to the 2013 and 2014 threads to help us.

the lottery is free. you will only pay your visa fee after you have won at the American embassy in your country on your interview day. remember it is free you can register yourself

That was the message i got from the US embassy in ghana in regards to AOS for ghanians. Not needed but may be required in certain cases.
