Politics / Re: Why Did They Wait This Long Before Telling Us Of Yar'adua's Death? by akinsipe(m): 11:48pm On May 05, 2010
It's so unfortunate to see people who claimed to love Yar'adua, the cabals and his wife punish this man and Nigerians for so long just for their personal gains. Now the man can rest in peace freed from the shackles of sycophants around him, his slimy and grimy wife inclusive.

Politics / Re: What We Have Not Realised About Goodluck Jonathan. by akinsipe(m): 4:41am On May 01, 2010
Nigerians, let's not treat the change that has come like Israel did in the days of old. For the doubting Thomases, your fears are quite understood especially viewing this against the backdrop of the deep rot in the land. However, it still doesn't change the fact that Nigeria has a date with destiny in Goodluck Jonathan! Love it or lump it, the days ahead are going to unsettle the so called powerful cankerworms of our land and the wasters shall surely be wasted!
Politics / What We Have Not Realised About Goodluck Jonathan. by akinsipe(m): 10:31pm On Apr 30, 2010
Nigerians have, under a heavy yoke of internal and external oppression, been praying for many years for a God-sent leader that would turn the fortunes of the country around and I dare to say finally God has answered the prayers in the Acting President. Nigerians watch out because a new era is about to be birthed in Nigeria and we have the opportunity now to rally round Goodluck Jonathan for a new dawn in this country. Jonathan has the grace, anointing and favour to make a sustainable positive change and his enemies, no matter how powerful they are, will fall before him. Nigerians, God has finally answered your prayers and what we all should pray for now is that whoever or any group that may seek to scuttle or stymie what God has put on his mind to do for this country should be consumed. Rejoice Nigerians, better days ahead!

Jobs/Vacancies / Enough Of Chartered Institute Of This Or That. by akinsipe(m): 3:16pm On Apr 22, 2010
It's so appalling to hear of chartered institutes springing up everyday. I just saw one now that claims they're the Chartered Institute of Commerce. Since when did commerce become a professional discipline in Nigeria? Seems they've turned the whole thing to money-making ventures where people are clipped of their hard-earned money all in the name of being chartered. I wonder if tomorrow we won't hear of Chartered Institute of area boys or madmen. Na wa for Nigeria o!
Politics / Re: Adenuga Pays Beyonce 2 Million Dollars For Daughter Wedding by akinsipe(m): 8:35pm On Apr 20, 2010
For those who're making a case for Adenuga's financial recklessness, ask yourself why is he on exile in Ghana? He wouldn't have been making as much anywhere else in the world as in Nigeria. Nigerians are charged the highest mobile tariffs in the entire planet earth. In the U.K., you load five pound Lebara mobile credit and you talk for at least two hours if you make a call to any U.K. line and one and half hours if you make a call to Nigeria, India or any other part of the world. So what's the kid stuff all about? For your information, he was one of the few Nigerians who were used as conduits to siphon money from the the national treasury during Obasanjo's administration alongside the likes of Chris Uba and a host of others. So you better clip your selective memory and wake up. In terms of employment, he has only used the money that belongs to Nigerians but stolen to create jobs. So he hasn't done you any favour except you believe if a thief comes to your house and stole money from you but later returned it, he has done you favour. He has only given to you what belongs to you in the first place! Mike Adenuga is simply full of crap!
Politics / Re: Adenuga Pays Beyonce 2 Million Dollars For Daughter Wedding by akinsipe(m): 7:46pm On Apr 20, 2010
Anyone who gets to speak with Mike Adenuga should tell him to go Bleep himself. If the story is true, then it's so pathetic hearing him Bleep out two million dollars just for a diva's appearance in his daughter's wedding when his telecoms coy Glo keeps ripping Nigerians of their hard-earned money. How much has he giving back to his coy's many subscribers or how much scholarship has he giving to young Nigerians who are indigent. Truth is so many Nigeria rich men and women are suffering from the poverty mentality and are just a bunch of attention seekers. Have we ever heard the likes of Warren Buffet or Bill Gates spending that kind of money on a daughter's wedding even though they're a thousand times richer than Mike Adenuga? I won't be surprised if the marriage breaks up after a few months because whatever is built on the ephemeral things of this world will never stand the test of time. Marriage is more than having so much cash to spread around!
Education / Re: Securing Admission Into U.k. Universities. by akinsipe(m): 2:10pm On Apr 17, 2010
@justwise, I can sense the tone of frustration in your words. Must you talk when it's quite unnecessary? I've only posted a thread for a service and if it doesn't suit your purpose then lump it. This forum shouldn't be for disrespectful and uncivil blokes. I believe anyone on this forum is an adult and it should be left to their discretion to ring up or not. No wonder decent and well-meaning people on this forum are very few and far between. There seems to be too many people on this forum with the 'area boy' mentality.

@ snowdrops: Check up before making blanket judgements, okay? Except you're just one of those young Nigerians suffering from ignorance. If what nairaland is known for is scam or scammers, then I shouldn't be here. I just completed my MBA and came back. Information is power they say and you may not get all you need to know on those websites. If you don't know, ask those who have been there.

Jobs/Vacancies / Any Company That Asks For Money Is A Scam! by akinsipe(m): 7:49pm On Mar 26, 2010
I make bold to say no genuine employer worthy of their calling will ask any prospective employee or applicant to pay money into their accounts since you will be adding value to them if they employ you. So beware!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by akinsipe(m): 7:38pm On Mar 26, 2010
Hi all. I think it's high time we dropped this "Nigerianised" paralysis of analysis. We are trying to call attention to one major source of gross inefficiencies in the Nigerian system and some people are making excuses for what underlies the erosion of an equitable society where everyone is allowed to prove their turf. The crux of the matter is not the strategy of cutting the handling costs of the employment process but providing a level playing field for all young Nigerians seeking to pursue their chosen careers. If the governments at all level initiate a process that ensures collateral inclusion of young people and the right policies, investments will naturally flow into the country and more companies will be established to provide jobs for young Nigerians given the fact that the country is well endowed with resources both natural and human to attract investments into it. In addition, financial institutions are not living up to their responsibilities as so many young Nigerian have business ideas that can be used to create employment but are bereft of finance. So instead of getting this discussion at sixes and sevens and getting it twisted, let's tackle it head on!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by akinsipe(m): 3:02pm On Mar 24, 2010
@ War Horse,
You and a couple of others have made real sense of this issue so far. I say it again, Nigeria should change through this medium.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by akinsipe(m): 1:33pm On Mar 24, 2010
It's not exactly a question of whether you want to inject fresh blood into your company or not. Who says a 35 or 40 year old is not fresh blood when it comes to deliverying on the job, who says a 20 or 22 year old is more intelligent or subservient or easily subjected to the manipulations of employers? It's a question of fairness and equity especially given the realities on ground in Nigeria. If Nigeria will change for good, there are some fundamentals we need to address. A system that encourages people to lie about everything will not go too far. Even the companies that demand unrealistic criteria for jobs don't last long because if someone lied about their age they are likely to lie on matters on the job. The reason why people don't lie when seeking employment here in the U.K. or other developed countries of the world is because their governments have made employment discrimination on the grounds of age illegal and a serious crime. Matter of factly, people claim damages on companies here for discriminating against them on the grounds of age or race. Change we want, change we need. Yes we can, we can change for the good of all!
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by akinsipe(m): 1:12pm On Mar 24, 2010
I really appreciate the contributions so far, but the discussion should not end here, it should hit the tabloids and newspapers. Employers are missing out on talents that could turn the fortunes of their companies around for good because of the age discrimination disease. Let the discussion continue. Many thanks to all panelists.
Jobs/Vacancies / Why The Age Discrimination On Jobs? by akinsipe(m): 10:13pm On Mar 23, 2010
I would like to jumpstart this discussion on why employers both public and private in Nigeria discriminate against some graduates on the grounds of age. I think it's time for us to call the attention of our law makers to this hydra-headed monster that has deprived so many young people of pursuing their careers in their chosen disciplines. Worthy of note is the moribund educational system in Nigeria that ensures young people don't graduate early enough to meet the unrealistic requirements of companies vis-a-vis age. In a country where an average student graduates at between 27 and 29 years of age and adding the trouble of NYSC to it, they're not ready for the labour market until around between 28 and 30. Given the "ideal" entry level age of between 22 and 25 most companies ask for today, there's a need for a wake up call. In the U.K. and other developed countries, no employer discriminates on the grounds of age. All they want is the value you can add to their going concerns even if you're 50. Nigerians, let's getting talking about it.

I think most respondents here are just uncivilized.Especially those ones who're castigating her for expressing her feelings.Didn't we call this a forum where people can interact and socialize?Enough of the gutter language, okay?If she's come to this forum to find love, then let her be.I guess there're too many "area boys and girls" on nairaland.com these days. Please let's bring some sanity and moderation to responses to members' postings.Shalom!
