Yea I forgot lol I checked for accomodation in canberra and its expensive.another reason I 'm keeping crossed fingers for RMIT and I have been talking to students in RMIT added some on facebook but I have not meet a nigerian studying in that school

houses in canberra are not that expensive but most houses are very new so standard of living is different like canberra is very neat, canberra is like for chilled people if you like FUN then forget canberra

Its cheaper though my program fees compared to canberra fees.I know melbourne is expensive.I have discussed with international students in an intl forum.

living in melbourne is not expensive cos you have alot of options, its like lagos, canberra is just too cool grin

Yea I just got my admission to study masters of business management for 1semester but I will be adjusting my resumption date to 2nd semester.wanted to find out how's the school(university of canberra).I joined some international forum about australian schools it seems most people don't like the school, not really sure yet.'M still waiting for RMIT university admission process.

uni isn't much of a fun in Australia, for Canberra; its a small city and i'm not sure its the best uni anyways but for uni cert. it doesnt matter wch uni you graduated from what matters is that u studied in Australia and btw once you get busy here you go to uni only when you should be there if you know what i mean

Please do you know how long it takes to get an accommodation in canberra.thinking of getting a short stay or an hotel for a week and then looking around for a long term accommodation but really don't know if one week will be fine to get an accommodation.also please what is needed to get to an accommodation off campus especially an apartment.your advise in general will be fully appreciated, will be going with my family.thanks

Tbh is kinda hard to get settled under one week but with God all things are possible, you can stay in YHA backpackers in the city at 7 Akuna street. That's the cheapest to me hotel is not cheap, sometimes you might see a house but you might not like it cos you dont like the tenats or location of price etc but canberra has best houses in Australia anyways cos its developing so most houses are new, how many people are coming with you? Also if you wanted to rent an apartment it might be hard cos you have no job yet so they won't really give you a contract. Anymore questions I will load you hope this helps

here's a lil view of mine for my fellow migrants, Canberra is like Abuja where you find all they civil servants going to work it's not so fast paced, Sydney is like Lagos where things happen to some extent, Melbourne like Lagos is awesome cos its like a very multicultural environment so you will always feel at home, Perth is kinda good but far away, i don't really know much about Perth but businesses close early there dky!, these places i have been there so from my lil experience. i Study at uni. of Canberra, i will respond to any question when i can, Good-luck in all your endeavors

Right now I need to go book my flight.Feel free to ask me any question.

For accomodation,am using gumtree.com and flatmates.co.au. The latter seems better as I get responses after a short while.

THANKS,HOW MUCH IS THE PTA PLEASE

has no fixed priced it only depends on CBN exchange rate but its cheaper than black market or aboki and thats y its limited providing ur visa and flight ticket to the issuing bank... PTA is ranging from $0.1-4000 depending on wat u want to buy.. ie if u want to travel with $100 the bank will give u wen u give them the naira equval.. then i u need or hv more than $4000 eqival... the bank will ony give u $4000 and that's the maximum..

thanks for your reply ma.well, yes ,basic travel allowance. i want to know if i am going to need it and how much? i heard abt the bta from a friend studying in usa, just want to know if it applies to australian students also.

was both or either required from someone you knw in aus?please i will like to know. thanks

I'm not sure we mostly use PTA cos its gotten from banks wch makes the fx rate favourable

I stand to be corrected but I know of people who have used sponsors from all over the world. What they really want to see is the money in that account.

Bta? What's bta?? Basic travel allowance? Somebaddy help an old lady out here cheesy

BTA Business travelling allowannce which is max. $5000 and PTA Personal Travelling Allowanance which is max $4000.. i hope i'm correct grin

Thanks akomsy. I appreciate this. How was ur speaking session. Me dey scared o. I must confess.

@all, please I need to know somethings abt my sponsor.
1 Can d person be outside naija
2. How much should be in his acct (minimum in naira)
3. What will happen to my sponsors money after I'm gone.
4. Can I also use a local govt acct if the chairman is willing to help me do that.

my speaking session was cool i scored 7.0, the part u should b scared of is the writing, listening and for sure reading becauses you are tested on reasoning, how calculative u are and speed, wen u said u were shy i just remembered my case during the speaking i took my ietls during the winter and i was with a white lady she asked me to speak of wat i disliked so much wch was about a Movie i watched shocked i could only rem. titanic.. keep speaking show some high level of vocabs don't repeat same words cos its wat the really want u to show(high level of vocab..). Infact use youtube and know wat exactly u are expected to do know ur pie chart bar chart etc how to explain something or narrate them to someone and the person will picture about 75% of wat is drawnn without seeing the graph in that case the want to hear some words like apex peak etc pls contact youtube and wen u miss out in the exam hall forget that question grab the nxt one
