We all have stories to tell. What a world of difference!
Politics / Re: Iyabo Obasanjo's Letter To Her Father by ALAREDE: 11:45am On Dec 18, 2013
Wow! Can someone confirm that Iyabo actually wrote this letter?

My take on the content of the letter is simple- Do everything possible to have a relationship with your children and if possible, family members. The greatest success in life is to have a peaceful home and we MUST all strive at all cost to achieve this.
Business / Re: Banks In Owerri Closed Over Payment Of Taxes To Govt by ALAREDE: 2:42pm On Dec 12, 2013
Provided the incidence of double taxation is eliminated, businesses by law,. are required to pay some selected taxes and levies to the state. What needs to be proved is that the tax or levy does not constitute additional burden on them.

It is most unlikely that the government would just forced arbitrary taxes on banks. Parties should find a common ground to resolve the impasse rather than locking out their customers.

Economics of commercial banking is centered around continuous operation either on the surface, electronics or other selected platforms. With the proposed close-down, government as well as the banks are losing with the attendant implication on the economics of the state.

For being a graduate of the school, you should have know what is obtained in your alma mater. The assault notwithstanding, you just foolishly exposed your friend as a'big' boy. This may invariably jeopardise his academic standing. My friend, always respect protocol in a structured environmnet. This has nothing to do with Oyedepo spirit.

Your fool-hardiness was the bane of your suffering, you should have been left in the 'guard-room' to sleep over. Your bearded friend is not also representing the school. If you can find a barber, get shaving stick and look clean. Your friend and you MUST have dressed so irresponsibly not to have passed for a student.

Grow up and work on your appearance! The security you paid are not staff of Oyedepo BUT outsourced.

Religion / Re: Bishop David Benenoch Has Divorced His Wife by ALAREDE: 6:09pm On Nov 26, 2012
I stumbled on this and iam still kicking myself to wake up from the sleep. I attended the church from 1994 -2001 and through out this period, they are synonymous to perfection. The Bishop and his wife appear to be a perfect couple. As a young man growing up, i always wished for a polish and supporting woman like mummy Ben Enoch. Marriage is a complicated thing and i dont know what could have transpired between them. I just hope this can still be remedied, i can imagine the ripple effects on christaindom but especially, the family.

Religion / Re: Ex-PHB Boss Used N45M Stolen Funds To Pay Church Tithes by ALAREDE: 11:57am On Sep 27, 2012
Reading all the treads and comments above as regards church, one could say this is the beauty of Xtianity. If it were to be some religion, i can assure you that riot would have broke out on the street of Lagos by now. A big lesson to all of us
Politics / Re: What Do You Do When Your Proposal Is Hijacked. by ALAREDE: 3:01pm On Sep 24, 2012
This is the bane of our society. It is so discouraging when your intellectual works or property are been brazenly stolen, and to make the matter worst by Govt agencies or Corporation who in the first place should protect you.

I guess, this culture of corporate fraud are perpetuated because people are poignantly lazy and they dont appreciate good stuffs. I work in an industry where you get paid for what is in your brain hence we strongly place emphasis and protects our 'outputs'. This unconventional practice may not be unconnected with the fact that Nigerians dont like paying for 'services'. You will be amazed at the terrible treatments given to service offerings in Nigeria especially apong the elites and well educated in the society.

In the immediate, i think copyrighting may work but seriously, people are too shy to challenge this injustice hence the perpetuation. In an extreme case, there may be need to explore legal windom. I could help you arrange for some of the brightest intellectual lawyers in town. I bet you you dont want to get on the wrong side of these guys.
Islam for Muslims / Re: 5 Examples Of Outstanding Muslim Tolerance by ALAREDE: 4:19pm On Sep 20, 2012
In my own considered opinion, we need modern day examples not some historical perspective that recent happening has obliterated. Just like any natural phenomenon, the whole of Islam are not fundamentalist but those few(i hope am right) have done collosal damage to the religion's reputation, in the West. The muslim world need re-awaking ( Not spiritual) to 'fish" out all undesirable elements in their midst.

Iam perticularly sad considering that some of my best friends are Muslim-Dedicated and professional in their dealing. I cant reconcile same polished guys to the mayhem elsewhere purportedly perpetrated by some fews.

The truth is nobody simple, nobody ( Xtain,Muslim,Budhist, animist, aethist etc) prosper in the face of instability. The world is and would be a better place if we all live together in peace.

Politics / Re: Ex-Minister Emmanuel Ihenacho Arrested For Oil Theft by ALAREDE: 11:54am On Sep 15, 2012
I think we should tread with caution on the issue. The MT Grace in question freights crude for third parties. Also their jetty warehoused products for other importers and in the process earn through-put. It may be an hasty conclusion to wrap it up that the company and/or its promoter actually stole products. Nonetheless, the matter should be thoroughly investigated. Afterall, this is our 'common wealth'
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) / Re: QPR Vs Chelsea (0 - 0) On 15th September 2012 by ALAREDE: 11:44am On Sep 15, 2012

Politics / Re: US Temporarily Closes Embassy In Nigeria by ALAREDE: 11:21am On Sep 15, 2012
Boko Haram is a national menance. Muslim, Xtian or traditional are equally affected. We should all join hands together to confront this evil. But the muslim world MUST champion this course. Because at the centre of it all, they are using religion to perpetrate this wickedness. All is well.
