b]You dont have to pay hundreds of thousand of naira to an agent to obtain a visa to different countries, when u can have your own passport from a country in the Southern part of Africa. The Passport travels to over 70 Countries, i.e Barbados, Jamaica, Argentina, New Zealand, Ireland, Malaysia, Mauritius, Singapore etc,

You have the choice of traveling there to obtain the e-passport, or not, It's genuine and original

Interested persons should drop me a mail on reggie.smart@hotmail.co.uk for further inquiries

I really dont know what circumstances you put in your form. So pls go ahead and inform them. You can call their office to also ask if it will be necessary to draft a letter to them explaining why you can't leave on the selected date.
Travel / Re: Refusal Of Entry Clearance (uk Visa) by amykelly: 9:06am On Aug 17, 2011
It is a business visit multiple entry.
Okay. You dont need to inform them unless you want to go the extra mile. Thats why you were given multiple entry. You can enter the Uk as many times as you like as long as your visa hasnt expired. When you get to the point of entry make sure you can describe/explain what business you are going for as you may be asked by the immigration officer at the point of entry.
Travel / Re: Refusal Of Entry Clearance (uk Visa) by amykelly: 8:57am On Aug 17, 2011
If it is a normal visa with Multiple entry then you dont need to inform the embassy that you are not traveling on the date specified on your application form. You can travel anytime that you want as long as u have a valid visa that hasnt expired.
Travel / Re: Refusal Of Entry Clearance (uk Visa) by amykelly: 8:55am On Aug 17, 2011
@amykelly, I have a question on this change of circumstance. The embassy said I should report to them if my circumstance change before traveling, I want to know what is included i.e. does it include change of flight date, cancellation of trip, change of hotel or what?

First of all what visa category did you apply for? Also have you gotten your visa? If u have gotten your visa for say maybe school then you need to inform them if maybe you dont want to continue with that choosen school or if you dont want to go for your studies in the Uk anymore.

Hi Peeps.

I applied for a UK Tourist visa and to my surprise my application was rejected.

Reason : I am not satisfied that your financial outlay on the proposed visit on the balance of probabilities will be maintained and accommodated in the UK without working or having recourse to public funds.

I stated in the visa application that i will be financing myself  during my stay in UK, i presently work in one of the best paying Bank in the country, Letter of Introduction, Offer Letter, Statement of account with the sum of 1.03M as the Balance still this people refuse me visa.

Please candid advise should i appeal or Wait for 6 Months and Reapply ?

I am sorry to hear that. This also happened to my colleague. Also, is the 104k before or after tax. The 104k you state as your salary may be seen as too small considering that you will have to pay for your accommodation, flight and food. The ECO mentally calculates what you earn monthly and converts it to pounds. If u notice, on the form it says you should state how much you get after tax and how much you spend every month. This is then deducted to see how much you have left monthly. If u have dependants, it is further deducted.  Note that this isnt enough to buy a ticket let alone pay for accommodation. One thing I have realised is that the Eco relies more on your Salary than they do on your balance in your bank statement. My colleague had a similar issues and all these were stated on her refusal letter and she had a balance of 2.5million in her salary account. Notice that the ECO didnt refer to her account balance at all instead he did a calculation that if she says she wants to spend 350k for her trip, going by her salary, it will take her months to save for it hence he isnt satisfied. If it wasnt a first time application, then the ECO may have over looked it however it was. Unfortunately, most reviews I have heard of are unsuccesful unlike the family vistor category where you have full right of appeal and more success rate.

My Advice: Find a sponsor that will state he will pay for your Flight. Make it seem like a joint sponsor. i.e You state in your application form that you are paying for food and accommodation while your sponsor is paying for your flight.  Re-apply and then draft a letter stating your changed circumstance and that your sponsor is willing to fute your travel expenses. Attach a letter from you sponsor and his bank statment and resubmit all u did before.

Best of Luck!

Hey guys, I am so happy now that there is a thread dedicated to this topic, as I intend to apply for mine next year April. So I can learn alot from you guys. Three months is a long time to wait!!! shocked shocked shocked shocked. My fiance and and I intend to do our court wedding in April 2012 and apply immediately. But for those that have applied, how much is acceptable for finance? Do we have to show more that GBP5000 Also when I was looking at the form, I noticed a part that said, "what do you intend to do in the UK" and provide details . I am a bsc holder so i intend to look for a job as soon I get to the UK. Do I have to get a job offer before I put that ?
Travel / Re: General UK Visa Enquiries by amykelly: 5:03pm On Jun 23, 2011
@ Beemman. I have a steady job with a multinational company and earn 126k. i have money of my own worth 1.6k. 900k in my fixed deposit account and the rest in ma salary account but i moved 500k into my salary account on the 1st of june which was money from my housing allowance. i intend to apply in Aug . My fixed deposit account is more stable as i transfer money into it every month from my salary account. Also i intend to use ma mum as a sponsor as i did in my previous application. i can show my payslip for more than a year that shows how i am taxed heavily every month. I pay 17-24k in tax every month. My pay slip shows the break down of my salary and how i am taxed.

Also the person sponsoring is my fiance but i want to keep it as friend till we tie the knot and i apply for my spouse visa.

Hi guys, you all have been soo helpful and i cant say thank you enough. Pls i will like to find out, is it better to use a hotel reservation for a tourist visa or can one apply with an invitation letter from a friend? Especially when one will receive his Mortgage papers; bank statement with just a little over 1000 pounds; Payslips, utility bills, data page of British passport and inivitation letter. Pls advice.

My cousin's visa will expire on the 22nd of this month . She applied for a visa in december and got six months multiple visa. She used the visa once and she stayed for exactly 17 days in the UK. Now she also wants to apply for 2 yrs .
When she applied , she wrote on her application that she wanted to travel for one week in January but ended up traveling in Febuary. she is working and has her own funds but also uses her mum as a sponsor. Does it matter that she spent 17 days instead of one week? and also the fact she went in Febuary instead of January? Pls advice

Welcome Amykelly. To quote someone there is an option called 'insert quote' on the top right of the persons comment you want to quote. click it and it will apear in your reply box.

As per fitting in your workouts, depends on how early your day starts and how late it finishes. You could wake up that bit earlier to fit it in, only need about 25-30mins to get the heart rate up and get a decent w/o. Alternatively if you are not an early morning prson or have to get out to work v. early, you could do it after work? Another thought is to use your lunch break for brisk walk so just try and fit in more movement, every little helps. Also how come rice and beans are the only food available to you at work? Can you not take in your own food just to add variety. Its not easy trying to stick to a set number of cals esp with our naija food etc, but the major key is getting the portion control in check and watching what you snack on. Also avoid late night eating. If you are serious, this is a good place to check in just to keep one motivated, get ideas, advice and track progress. Hope this helps.
