Phones / Re: Naija Mobiles (operator) With Landline Numbers by bjluv: 10:43pm On Mar 28, 2008
sorry but Im not actually in the country and havent been for years. a friend was driving and called me on a number that looked like a land phone and I asked how come he was driving and calling on that number and he said there are mobile phones in naija now with landphone numbers in it.

So I thought that it would be a good idea if my folks back home could get it too so if you have any info, kindly share please
Phones / Naija Mobiles (operator) With Landline Numbers by bjluv: 11:13pm On Mar 27, 2008
Hello people I heard there is an operator in naija (Starcomms or Glo) selling this sort of mobiles that comes with a landline number like 01-870, or 01-804, Please is that true and how much does a basic one cost. There is a friend who told me about it and I would like to confirm please,

thanks for the replies
Adverts / Re: Uk Phone Number That Rings To Your Mobile Or Landline In Nigeria! by bjluv: 11:09pm On Mar 27, 2008
yes sure you can have both UK, US, Germany, Sweden and virtually any developed country's phone number for free but how to get it ring on your naija lines is what I don't know. I have all those for contacts abroad (i.e outside the country I reside) and they all call the local number I registered for and it rings on my mobile or house phone after little bit settings though and they pay local charges plus there are several ways to cut phone bills and I think that needs another chapter grin

If you have got a hispeed Internet [meaning 8MB and above - 2MB is managealbe for clear call quality] and dont mind picking up these US, UK calls from your PC with the headphone and mic, then why dont you hit me up.

Heard Access Bank is a good bank though cheesy
Investment / Re: Nigerian Banks, Stockbrokers, And Services For Nigerians Abroad by bjluv: 12:32am On Feb 13, 2008
well it seems that is the way things works over there. I am now also thinking to stop any banking/stock-broking with any Nigerian financial institution. Things ain't this bad in other countries like Zambia or SA even though we all know we can't compare those places with naija.

I was about opening a Zenith bank account the other day and went through hell doing that despite being told that it could be opened from abroad. After sending all the scanned documents they have requested, the person I was dealing with said the headquarters can not go ahead to open the account for me. angry shocked

Reasons: 1. No Zenith bank account holder who could refer me on the application. This same official said he might help me get that settled earlier and 2. the scanned data page of my naija passport which I sent was having the expired date information because that is what is on the data page. They didn't bothered asking for the the renewed page or whatever if they needed clarification.

We want to believe that we are the giants of Africa when doing all the above mentioned was a just like a snap in SA. Oh naija with them wahalas undecided

@Etin,

4. Yes we have an online presence for online execution of orders simply send your instructions to our general email address and operations will execute it.

5. You can can fund the account using our dom accounts or using a bank transfer if you have a bank in Nigeria

hope these have helped.

Have a nice day.

Ade Atilade

How quick is your company in responding to execution of orders? I read someone here that she/he exchanged 100 emails with your company and got 100 back. Meaning, got a reply for all. That is quite recommendable because companies there don't bother replying emails.

In which naija bank do you have an account if I will be sending money from my naija account?

atilla:

Yes email orders are accepted by the company. Minimum is 100k funds or equivalent in share certificates

when the 100k is deposited, will it reflect on my CSCS account and I could use it to buy shares anytime I want or what? Kindly explain further.

thanks Dis Guy & bivins1, for the advise and thanks all for the magnitude of info here. I throw-way salute! cheesy^

Was thinking stock brokerage is as easy as it is over here.

Anyways, I am planning to be trading via my sister in lagos. That is, she will drop the money on my naija account and I will pay it to the brokers account so that he will get the shares for me. my sis will be getting the funds from me here and paying it to my naija account so no need of the CIC someone was talking about the other time. shey? The funds will be staying in naija until I enter to clear my stuffs grin carrying 10K €€€ about back here with me wont kill the border dogs

@ALL,

If I start to use one stokebroker today, lets say, AIT Securities and I get CSCS number with them and buy some stocks via them. How easily would it be to move all my stocks (portfolio) to another stockbroker say, NTA Invest Securities Ltd without too much yawa?

@hispy99, I heard Afrinvest was bought over by UBA. I am thinking of Diamond Securities, Trust Yield Securities or Citi Invest but I still need more info before I leap cheesy

hispy99:

you do not need a CSCS account for IPO (You will be sent paper certificates  grin)

Skye looks better to me

CSCS was asked on the form and I was thinking it is better to have them all settled out since the beginning and not that I send the stuff to the CSCS account later or what do you tlhink?

Temmie10:

skye looks much better than FIB but if you are looking at 12 months or more, then you could as well go with FIB,
be careful with oversubscription tho
u cn stil get fib even 2 weeks after the closure, check with a reliable broker

I am still searching for one and May God almighty bring one my way. Would you recommend a reliable broker? wink undecided

alright ManJiro, thanks for the info. I should make the tranfer to the CitiBank using my reference number. Thanks for the comment once again wink
Investment / Re: Nigerian Banks, Stockbrokers, And Services For Nigerians Abroad by bjluv: 8:08pm On Jan 29, 2008
@babycool, I have been made to understand from various forums that Cashcraft isnt all that. Dont know though!

@Dis Guy and Man Jiro, thanks for the comments.

I already emailed them and I got a reply that I need to fund their account using my reference number & afterwards, the account will be opened. Now isnt it that I should fund my own account and not theirs? I dont have any account number yet but the reference number. diamondreach@diamondbank email address was dead when I wrote but I got through with diamondcare@

I have got to understand that Diamond has a better online facility than UBA and one can d o transfers to another bank e.g GTB or UBA. Is that true? Kindly pls tell because I would like to know so that I can transfer funds so that I can purchase stocks

@bjluv
Please never you make a proud statement  here. You are staying in American and so what?. Is it your father that created or discovered america? Who knows what your mission is in America.
Some of you will be talking and be personalizing  america as if it is not affordable for Nigerian people to live, please. enough of that. This is Nigerian forum, if the likes of you don't have anything to contribute or give constructive criticisms to Nigeria development please shut down your fucking mouths, you may go and pick presidential  form in america to test your popularity over there.

I wonder if you are not one of those Nigerian area boys in america and Uk having nothing to do but to beg for money at bus/train stations.

I guessed a monkey will talk. So you are one of those that do preach in the buses. You don't need to get mad OK. Next time, go f.u.ck yo moma!

I have one mouth you slowpoke. If I beg for money at the bus station here, how come am I online here talking sense to your rotten brains. Now you open ya yeye mouth when you will be one of those who will keep calling for invitation letter to come abroad or then send me money via western union.  And then, he writes like America & UK is the only place Nigerians are---foolish lad cheesy

I pray you will have a chance to see the world out of the boundaries of your country and you will end up preaching in a bus. What ever happens from there,  don't blame me! Naija baboon cheesy

This fellow is really sick for sure--- grin

Man Jiro:

I recently opened an account with Oceanic Bank. The opening process if faster than Diamond Bank but slower than UBA. They have an account with Deutsche Bank for transfer purposes. Hope their rate is better than UBA.

Their online banking is presently view only due a rectification being carried out. They hope to resolve it soon though.

Is Oceanic any good for you please Manjiro as in, their online banking and all. Is it in full function? My old man keep telling me that I should use Oceanic and not DiamondBank but I have already opened DiamondReach today and it is now waiting time to know when I will even get the account number and the starter's package!

Did you (DiamondReach account owners) get any email immediately you registered and uploaded the scanned documents?
