In the heart of the Umunze community in Anambra State lies a vast expanse of land that was once a hopeful whisper of development. Now, bushes have overgrown that portion of land meant for the establishment of a school for delinquent children as the project remains uncompleted.

The only reminder of its existence is a four-coach block sitting on the foundation, five years after the community donated a portion of their land.

According to the state document from 2018 to 2022 derived from Budgetpedia, N45 million has been budgeted for the project implementation.

The previous commissioner for children and women affairs, Ndidi Mezue on 6th May 2019 assured the people of Umunze of the clearance and perimeter fencing of the site; but on a visit to the site in June 2024, it was discovered that this promise is yet to be fulfilled properly as there was no perimeter fencing but a dwarf fence of four coaches.

Aliko Dangote's plan to transform Nigeria's energy sector through the Dangote Refinery has encountered significant setbacks, leading him to offer his shares to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC).

A student of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), identified as Mr. George A. Nnaji, has gone missing without a trace. This occurred on the same day a female student on campus was reportedly kidnapped, with a ransom demanded for her release, increasing tension on campus.

Mr. George, a 300-level student in the Department of Combined Arts, has been missing since Sunday morning, 14th July 2024, after allegedly going to work and not returning.

Reacting to this incident, his course representative, Miss Ruth Oluchi, said that she reached out to him on Monday evening, a day after he went missing, through a phone call. She noted that he initially answered the call and told her that he was fine and was only at his family house.
