Politics / Re: Even In War Commanders Go Off Duty – Okupe Knocks Obi, Defends Tinubu, Shettima by borie4u(m): 12:27pm On Oct 19
Gadafii:
When the allied forces stormed Normandy, attacking several beach heads, hit-lers commanders were not in France then, they were attending a game show somewhere else, they scrambled their ass back to the war front to stop the attack. The Allied forces had managed to deceive the nazis that the attack would be somewhere else,so the commanders relaxed a bit..but alas they were caught by surprise and had to ditch the game show and run back to the front.

Hitler had earlier captured France and it was strategic and very important to his war efforts in Europe, the liberation of France started the decimation of Nazi war machine in Europe.

Similarly, when the nazis bombed london to rubbles during the blitzkrieg, Churchill never ran away abroad , instead he was sheltered in bunkers, but he was on ground overseeing how to stop the nazis air raid.

It's foolsih to make this type of comment at a time like this, Mr okupe, I know you are trying to earn some plate of rice, but don't be foolishh at doing that

What I am trying to say is no serious commander will be lounging away abroad when his field soldiers are getting decimated or taking serious casualty, tinubu is no good commander.

If this was in real life war situation, junior soldiers would have executed him or desert their posts.

see my brother God bless you. It's like saying the father who is the head of the family can go on leave while his house is burning because according to Doyin Okupe, his wife and children are there to take care of the fire. See another degree to asslicking. Can Doyin leave his house that is burning and saying he can take a leave because his wife and children are also there. Haba Doyin Okupe! Nonsense and Tinubu!

I work 45 hrs and my wife work 45hrs..

There are area in UK where rents are cheap and this are off city center. And we are in winter already although i don't have to explain to you. You could believe or not believe. House rent dont increase by winter or summer. If you have a pay as you go on gas then it will increase but if u negotiate with the gas people when setting ur account let them know u are a student working on part time.. Thats what i did and they reduced my fee and its static irrespective of what i use

Take a look at the pix.....

The second one is 3 bedroom... I could take 2 bedroom and look for a single student that will pay 200 per month...
Guy we are not in the winter. Abi what part of the UK are U? This is autumn those we have been having rain in Scotland

Yes you pay taxes..but just a little percentage of ur earnings like on that 12p.. U could pay 1.5p as tax.

Hope that is not too much
Guy tax is not calculated that way else everyone go dey buy lambogini. U have tax holiday on 12000£ after that U will be taxed 20% of anymore money U make. If U have a second job U will be taxed from 40% or even 50%. If U earn more than 40000£ U pay 40% tax. I made 942£ this week tax was 180£ and NI was 70£. Take home was less than 700£. The more U earn the less U collect

Walahi teachers are suffering well well for Nigeria. My greatest regret was teaching during my productive years. Na so one idiot principal asked me to take physics, chemistry, biology , mathematics and further maths for year 2008 that they will pay me 11k . The idiot said he pays his principal 12k. Locking him up with food and water without
Medication will make him mad quickly. It's not about locking him up and not allowing him access to the drugs but also making sure his body is detoxifying from the drugs by giving him required medication. I work in mental health hospitals and I know that patients who refuses medication are usually worse off than when they take the hard drug self because without proper medication they won't even eat the food or drink the water hence they tends to be worse off. Leverkusen star, Victor Boniface resorts to manual labour due to ‘delayed pay’

Super Eagles and Bayer Leverkusen forward, Victor Boniface, has left Nigerians reeling with laughter on social media after he started doing manual labour.

He jokingly stated that the Bundesliga club was yet to pay him his salary this month, so he had to go to the site and hustle for his ‘urgent 2k’.

Boniface shared a photo of himself clearing the leaves at a location abroad while dressed as a labourer.

The 23-year-old footballer captioned the post; “As levekusen never drop raba. Me don enter site go hustle for my urgent 2k.”

My wife dey save 1500£ every month apart from £500 way she dey give me to support expenses. Forget UK by far. When I dey naija na every week nepa dey cut light way dey no dey even give us. Water issue too dey there. U can't earn 500k make U no spend 200k on food, transportation, rent and miscellaneous fees. U can't even save 250k from the 500k but I can conveniently save 500£ even with all the bills and still ball
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 500k Per Month In Nigeria Or 2000pounds Per Month In The Uk by borie4u(m): 4:43pm On Jun 10
But that comparison no make sense at all. Except U dey live for London house rent, bills and naija food U can't spend £1200 and the remaining na savings with better enjoyment. If U try save 500£ na almost 1million naira be that which is even more than the salary for naija with all the food stuff inflation.
House rent =600-650£
Bill= 250£
Food=100-150£
Council tax= 150£.
Salary= £2000
Tax=350£
Net Money= 1650£
Expenditure= 1200£
Savings= 1650-1200= 450£
Savings in naira = 450*1850~#900k.

Health / Re: My Parents Are HIV Positive by borie4u(m): 12:25pm On Jun 09
Frost124:
Good day nairalanders, thank God this site is a faceless forum... Few weeks ago my dad told me he is HIV positive, when he told me I was disappointed but I made sure I didn't show it and I encouraged him... Him and my mother has been sick for a while and I certainly know he has transferred it to my mum.... My dad was very promiscuous when he was younger even after he married my mom he was still promiscuous. I am the only child and I have been footing the bills for their medical cares I am just 26 years old and I have spent so much and there is more spending still to come.... My father only told me, my mother is not aware of her health status all she thinks it's just a normal sickness happening to her. I have no one to talk to, I don't trust any friends because I believe when I tell them, they will certainly spread the news and you know the stigmatization against HIV patients, it's not good... I am frustrated, depressed and financially drained, sometimes I stay in my room and cry.... To avoid thinking, sometimes I just drink some alcohol... This issue has been in my heart for several weeks I just had to put it on Nairaland to ease my pain. My father just called me today that my mom has been admitted to the hospital, she was too weak to even walk.... Another spending and I am running out of cash, don't know what to do anymore. It wouldn't be this severe if they found out earlier, it's almost late. May God help me and my parents.
I will advise you as someone who has seen similar case but not my parents but a close relative. Forget all this bring him to chosen and those nonsense. First let Ur mum know and educate both parents on what hiv is about and how they can leave their normal life if they take their medication. U don't need every one to know just the two parents. Take them to general hospital because medication is free. They will live their full years but they need to take their medication. They won't be falling sick as long as they use their medication. U see the taking of hiv victim to all this churches and miracle centre was what caused the death of a relative. Take my advice and U will have peace of mind. Mind you medication is free in general hospital

Sports / Breaking News: Vincent Kompany Appointed as FC Bayern Munich Coach by borie4u(m): 8:29pm On May 23
Bayern Munich, winners of 33 Bundesliga titles, six European Cups, 20 German Cups, and by far the biggest club in their country, have hired the manager of Burnley, a team who have just been convincingly relegated from the Premier League.

Vincent Kompany's deal to become the new Bayern coach is all-but complete, with numerous reports over the last 24 hours claiming that the Belgian will take the helm at the Allianz Arena ahead of the 2024-25 season, and his appointment is as surprising as they come. This is a manager who has just four years of coaching experience, one of which came in the English second division. He has never coached a Champions League game, and his sole European campaign ended with a Conference League qualifying loss.

Kompany shouldn't be faulted for taking the job, even if it feels like a massive jump. He is a promising manager, who, at 38, still has the chance to become a great one. Give him a few seasons at mid-level clubs, let him build on and further mould his ideas, and he might someday be ready for a job as big as the Bayern one. But this all feels like it's happening way too soon.

More broadly, though, it speaks to the mess that Bayern are in. The Bavarians have burned through managerial targets since making the decision to let Thomas Tuchel go at the end of the season in February. After months of scouring Europe for potential targets, hunting down big names, and failing over and over again, they are left with a manager who seems underqualified and unprepared for a job of this magnitude.

there is nothing like water tax in the Uk, just water bills and you have a metre for that. If you do not use water, you do not pay because you have a meter and its outside on a walkway a small manhole! This is why its a bill and not TAX
Now council tax in the Uk is a whole different ball game,In Northern Ireland which is part of the Uk they DO NOT PAY COUNCIL TAX
Also, if you do not rent a whole apartment, you do not pay council tax, People in full time Education DO NOT pay council tax,peopla under 18 do not pay council tax, Members of the armed forces who are i n the armed forces do not pay tax. You guys assume too much
That is totally wrong. I pay water tax which has been calculated from April to December. It's doesn't have to do with whether I use water or not. It has been sent to me just like council tax so I know what am saying my dear
