Enugu State Waste Management is at it again. Devising a new means of making money this 2019 through defaulters. They normally issue demand notice from house to house, office to office all round Enugu state but this year, they came up with a new plan with the aim of making people to err. In this regard, everyone in Enugu state is supposed to come to the ESWAMA office to collect their demand notice of which is not the usual. To top it all, the crowd here just to collect demand notice is enormous to start with. I spoke with an anonymous and he confirm it by say he has been coming since last week just to collect the notice of payment. Others said they collected last week Tuesday, made payment but since then, they haven't change it to receipt. This is just a new means of making more money this year. How can u urge all the citizen in the State to come in mass to collect demand notice and proper information wasn't passed across after which you will still come and change to receipt in the same venue and office. This is absurd. A possible way out will be as follows, -Give proper information to the general public on the new method for at least 2months. -ESWAMA should send out officers to disseminate demand notice as usual. -Add the Property Identification Number on the structure and add it to the notice been giving. -The public will have to go to designated bank to make payment. -Return to the ESWAMA office to change to receipt. ENSG should look into this ASAP.

The Governors in the South Easter region said any herdsman caught moving cattle to the south East region on foot and through the bush paths would not be allowed entry. The South-East governors gave the statement through the forum’s Director General, Prof. Simon Ortuanya. After which, these herdsmen refuse and go about causing dis-ordinace at the state capital with their cattle. This is Enugu North, the largest LGA in Enugu State. Last night I received a call that a friend of mine was arrested for not paying board of internal revenue in Enugu state. I asked myself, a young man owning a small shop doing laundry, trying to find his feet and create a pathway for himself was arrested and taken to the police station even after trying to settle his way out with the sum of #5,000 (NGN) of which the cash was collected from him and pocketed and was still taken to the station. Upon getting there, he tried to reason out with them that he settled his way but was thrown behind the counter and was later thrown in the call. After that night, he had to place some calls and friends came to his aide to spend another #10,000(NGN). This leave me to ask this question DOES A SMALL SCALE BUSINESS PAY BOARD OF INTERNAL REVENUE TAX IN NIGERIA (ENUGU) |

Abuja — The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has condemned in strong terms the failure of the South-Eastern States Governments to meet its demands. He said: “Some of the universities have already started losing staff, because they have secured employment in other universities. “There are many universities in the country, and they are looking for experienced academicians, and you know we are not in large supply. “The lecturers cannot just sit endlessly waiting, when there are other job openings for them.” |
