HYPOCRISY AND EYE SERVICE WILL NOT KILL US IN AFRICA

BY EGBEOLOWO RIDWAN

I once asked my mother the real reason why they never for once kissed in our presence, the response I got was terrible. In fact, she told me the history of how I came to this world and why I could summon the courage to ask her such an irresponsible question according to her as a typical African woman. Then i asked her, how did they manage to have us as their children?. She laughed and stirred at me as if have done something wrong. The look on her face like one biblical Mary who claimed to have conceived by the holy spirit(laughing my ass out). What baffles me most is that, in this part of the world, this is a general thing that is very rampant in many families. You see parents that never for once talked about sex education to their children, then one begins to wonder how they gave birth in the first place. African parents likes to bypass the concept of sex education or anything related to it.
It is either they don't take it seriously or they don't even see the need to discuss about it.
I once asked my friend's mum same question I asked my mother, all I could get was, "you know that is African parents for u". I smiled and asked her if she knows the importance of parents being real to their children. She insisted and said same thing she asserted earlier on. I put an end to the conversation knowing fully well that hypocrisy, eye service, hiding and doing, and let them not catch me there have characterized almost 90% of African parents. They ignore things that matters and go after irrelevant ones. They failed to sit their children down and tell them the reality of life. They know the importance of reality, but the spirit of hypocrisy and let them not catch me there will Not allow them to do the right thing at the right time. This is it, as a mother or a father, when you failed to relate with your children in a realistic manner, it is either they end up chasing shadows or anything related to it. This is one of the reasons why the younger ones finds it difficult to build their relationships for a year or more. The same way marriages are falling like the wall of Jericho(especially couples who got married in their 20s).African parents must know that they are no longer in dark ages where primitive things are in their prime. The world is now a global village where reality is indispensable. Either by default or its opposite, African parents must learn how to do away with hypocrisy and eye service. They need to start telling their children the reality of life in relation to what is going on in the outside world, and not some tales about their forebears that does not even exist if properly checked. This is a call to sober reflection as it would interest my readers that am also a victim of this domestic rodomontade. I called it 'AFRICAN DOMESTIC SYNDROME(ADS)'..

Long live Africa!

WORLD'S LARGEST CHURCH AUDITORIUM IN ABUJA: A MISPLACEMENT OF OUR NATIONAL PRIORITIES By EGBEOLOWO RIDWAN the most worrisome aspect is, when pertinent issues relating to the nation's economy are tabled on the front burner, majority of Nigerians shy away from these important issues. one would wonder if they are directly or indirectly affected by these issues or not. These are issues that matters a lot but we take them with levity as If they are not in any way important to our well-being. When a country is filled with religious houses as opposed to its ailing economy, then, it would not be a fallacy to assert that: such country is an utopian country with misplaced priorities. It should be a note of warning and consideration that am not against religion as a whole,.but when things that matters are not being attended to, then, such a country is doomed to fail. What I am wholly against is when people misplaced their priorities. If am not mistaken, and if my brain serves me well, Nigeria is now the poverty capital of the world. Even as at that, religious houses are still surfacing in multiples, yet, majority of the people are wallowing in abject poverty. The economy crumbles on a daily basis. With all these, we see no reason to take these issues as it ought to be taken, rather we are always at the point of discussing issues that cannot in any way better the economy, not to talk of providing job opportunities for the people. Instead, the people are being used as a tool to further the church's ways of extorting them(The Nigerian People) through a newly established religious word called 'PASTORPRENEURSHIP'. It is yet another slap on our faces as it would interest my readers that the so-called World's largest church auditorium would be better as a factory rather than what they called it. At least, with the humongous space embedded in it, Nigerians in their thousands would be ready to work in a factory as big as that. In fact, it would be another part of an industrial hub where different things can be produced for the betterment of all and sundry. But here we are, World's largest church auditorium with a hundred thousand capacity. Let's take a good look at it from this angle and have we ever for once disturbed ourselves with the following questions: If by tomorrow, all pastors were wiped out from Nigeria, is there going to be any economic implication? How many inventions would suffer discontinuity? How many researches would stop? My humble readers, I await your replies..! What a misplaced priority! Karl marx had it right when he said, "Religion is the opium of the masses". An assertion misquoted by some people. As they thought he was trying to condemned religion. Marx was not exactly against religion. For him, religion was something that "the people" created for themselves. It was "the sigh of the oppressed creature", a useful tool by which the ruling classes kept the masses supine. Here in Nigeria, we pray over every little thing yet our problems are surfacing in multiples . we pray to pass in school even when we don't read. we pray to get work even when we don't have the necessary requirements. We pray to buy private jet even when we don't have money to buy the least cars in the market. We are always at the mercy of Unmerited favors. Instead of building companies where Nigerians in their thousands would be gainfully employed, we keep building temples and all forms of religious houses with the hope that manna will fall from heaven one day. The truth of the matter is that it will not get better until we prioritized the issues on the front burner, and not some white elephant projects pioneered by the bourgeoisie to further deepened the suffering of the proletariat.

IS IT A MUST YOU BLEACH?

The implication of dating a girl who bleaches would be known on the day she put to bed. You would be surprised to see 'KANTE' instead of 'Ronaldo". Then, you will know the power of 'bleaching'. Lolz!
I would have loved to join the league of bleachers if it was possible to bleached the Anus. But it seems there was no need for such since the cloth covers the Anus. still, if one is not careful, the early stage of bleaching is capable of influencing cos of the almighty transformation attached to it. But the end is what amazes me the most. From frypan to fire. From the sublime to the ridiculous. From the house of Alexandria to the hanging gardens of Babylon. Even most of our so-called actors and actresses who are supposed to be the suzeranes of social ethics are the grandmasters of bleaching. A lot of them in the movie industry. But which one is ineffable for me to mention here.
You are a black man who got married to a bleaching bae and at the end of the day, you are expecting at least one of your unborn children to have same resemblance as you. In the long run, none of them take after you. At times you would be like, God why? God would be like, What is ya problem? Am I the cause of your blindness to have gotten married to a bleaching bae whose features are: Black Anus like coal, white leg, black and white fingers. Lolz! It does not even stop there. Now that every jack and Harry wants to have colour yellow, there is nothing to worry about when a man started bleaching all in the name of fine boy. One should know that the beginning of madness is not hard to know. Like the saying of the late Afrobeat, Fela Kuti, "Dem Don Release You now But U Never release yourself(KOLOMENTALITY)"
We hear that of 'Slay Queens who wants to bleach their soul if possible'. What about the other gender. I don't even understand why a male child would/should be bleaching as if his parents are dead. The one that pains me most is when you see your youger ones who are into this social madness. At times you wonder if the victims of this social madness have foresight or not.
The rules of bleaching are not far fetched: at the early stage, the victim will be like an idiot created by another God( Cute and beautiful). The next stage would be too flashy as the victim becomes the new sheriff in town. At the end of the day, the victim becomes women in veil(Eleha). Shyness would follow. Even what the victim has been destined for would either be delayed or destroyed.
Common sense should tell all the bleachers in this part of the world especially the poor people that, it is height of insanity to be bleaching and at the same time be exposing your (bleaching) body to the sun. You are a working class, you are still bleaching. Why these bleachers don't know all this remains a thing of concern to me.
God will never forgive you. Bleaching causes body odour. You won't be able to stay inside heat nor walk under the sun. When we know the sun at times is good for the body and helps to build calcium. If care is not taken, tell me the reason why you won't have stroke at the end of the day. In giving credence to the late Afrobeat legend, Fela Kuti in his song 'Yellow Fever'. The verse that got me laughing out loud is that last verse where he was quoted at saying that, "You go get ur Double colour ur yanch go black like coal u self go think say u dey fine who say u fine na lie u no fine at all at all". Even the dead, at that time, knew he was talking to the bleachers.lol
Stop bleaching your body before it is too late..! God has never created anyone to have Coke&Fanta as his or her complexion.

THE TRUTH IS JUST BITTER...!

The group of people fighting injustice would soon be tired. It is time for the majority to get involved. The likes of Jimi Disu would soon be tired. Their bodies are not made up of wood. They are not machines. A stitch in time saves nine.....

It is a pity that in a country that is blessed with natural resources, there is no iota of sanity anywhere in the country. We keep on doing the same thing, but expecting different results(insanity). Everything is not just OK. But that man in suit prefers to work all day long. He prefers to work like a slave, irrespective of his mouthwatering salary at the end of the month. He wants people to know that he goes to work everyday. He does not believe in protests. He does not believe in political participation. But he believe so much in prayer. He believes everything will be OK. That's the mentality of an average Nigerian man. We like to sit on the fence. We don't want to get involved. We are waiting for manas to fall from heaven. It will never happen.
In fact, I am beginning to wonder if we really know how we got ourselves into this mess. I mean the moral conscience to know the damages caused over time. 50 years after independence, we are still battling with Internal problems of all kind. Mere looking at the recent heartbreaking news, Everything seems blurry. The massacre, The Genocide, and other related issues still remains a mystery to me. one would wonder why people are killing each other in a country where there is rule of law. In a country that claims to be practicing true Democracy. In a country that pride itself as giant of Africa. In a country where Senators, Honourables, Governors are receiving Jumbo salaries at the end of every month. Not to talk of the commander-in-chief of the armed forces ruling council. Few days ago, I read with utmost regret the killing debate between our leaders on social media. The most painful part of it is that they were debating on the administration that recorded more killings. It is not about the people anymore. It is about the administration that kill the most. Laughing my ass out..! Are there no common sense persons in the corridor of power anymore? Despite all the killings, all we could get from a sensible leader like ours, is prayer and condemnation. For how long are we going to dwell in this world of fantasy? We keep on praying yet people are dying like flies, everyday. Families are getting destabilized everyday and night. The poor man cannot sleep having his two eyes closed. His fundamental human rights has been shattered by a faulty system. He is helpless and hopeless. Despite his conditions, he is made to obey the power that be, in the face of poverty, war, starvation and cruelty. All in a strategic society controlled like an animal in a kingdom full of despair. Perhaps the common man on the street needs to be radical at times. Perhaps He needs to contribute to the issues on the front burner. Everything is not about prayer. We all need to know that. The effectiveness of a prayer can only be recognised when the needful has been done. Without that, it is an exercise in futility. I could remember vividly when the great depression hit America. The United States of America, during the great depression, did not overcome it through prayer. They overcame the great depression through hard work and common sense. At least, 30 million Americans were poor. Ten million were out of work. One fourth of the country's families had no money. And, I don't want to believe we've experienced half of what they passed through. All we know is to pray, sit - back and do nothing. Well, May we be delivered from this PRAYER SYNDROME of a thing. The philosophy of much prayer less work is one of the problems facing an average Nigerian man. A mental slavery!. But I know to be a black man is not a sin. Just that we have problems within ourselves. The problems have been obvious, solutions ignored. Its as if we've created our own hell in this part of the world. We are now witnessing horrors Unknown to this part of the world. From Ebola to Lassa fever, From Massacre to Genocide. We want a better Nigeria, yet we can't tolerate each other at the lower level. Yet we are deceiving ourselves with the gospel of one Nigeria. One Nigeria, when Intolerance is at equilibrium. Who is deceiving who? This same intolerance is one of the major factors that led to the riot that broke out between Modakeke and Ile-Ife. I want people to know that the war did not just start all of a sudden. It was a gradual thing. The riot could not have gotten to that extent if tolerance was in place. Most of the problems we are facing now can be traced back to our inability to tolerate each other from the beginning. The problem of intolerance started from the family.
I have witnessed a scenario where two brothers were at loggerheads just because the elder brother disagree with his junior brother coming to stay with him. Perhaps they can't tolerate each other. What do you make of that? Can we blame (the) government for that? Whoever blames the government on that or any related issues, it means the person is suffering from schizophrenia.
I am too busy to be blaming the government all the time. A realist will never do that. The problem is not really the government. It is the people. There has been this ego and pride around the black race. I can't really say if it is a natural inclination or not. But it is a fact.
Critically, with everything that has been happening right before now, it makes everything looks as if we are still in the era of SLAVERY. What more can i use to qualify the mess we got ourselves into?
No wonder a slave master, when asked, why he buy slaves? His reasons are as follows:
"I need slaves to work my land.
Africans sell their own people
If they do, what's wrong about my buying them.
Besides, I'm good to my slaves.
I feed them well & give them houses.
What more could they want?

Could it be that slavery under colonial masters is somehow preferable to the present state of Nigeria?

I leave this question for my readers to decide.

OJUAYE (Eye Service)

BY Egbeolowo Ridwan Olaitan

Sometimes you have to play the role of a fool to fool the fool who thinks they are fooling you. If you don't play along like this, you may have yourself to blame at the end of the day. Whenever they come, welcome them and pretend as if they meant well for you. Don't squeeze your face nor should your character be frightening. Award them enough time to tell lies on how they've been running helter-skelter just for you to be somebody in life(Format Nooni Gbogbo e). They will say all sort of things, pretend as if you've been seeing their efforts, even though the dead knows they never meant well for you. This eye service is ubiquitous---it is very rampant among the yorubas. Those living with this deceptive blue eyes are nothing but a wolf in sheep's clothing. They will come to you and say the opposites of the real intentions they have for you. If one is not careful, one would be carried away with their ostentatiousness. They are everywhere: in the church; in the mosque; in the family; in the school; and in other places of the world. They will not let sleeping dogs lie. That is one of the reasons why I love myself. If you think you can lie to me or play above my intelligence, you would have yourself to blame at the end of the day. If you are one of those in this category, you had better turn a new leaf before you end up endlessly.
Sincerely, I have come to realise the fact that blood has nothing to do with fortune. Some people are far better than your relatives. A friend at times is better than your brother(s).
Never rely on anyone! Be courageous as the lion king! Work hard to become somebody in life. Leave the "Ojuayes" and set out for a new dawn of life engagement.

Happy Splendiferous weekend!

Education / The Cgpa Syndrome And The Illusion Of Success by dagama49(m): 6:02pm On Oct 04, 2017
THE CGPA SYNDROME AND THE ILLUSION OF SUCCESS

To see and discover beyond the school domain is a thing of the mind, body and soul. to discover the road that lead to success would be to look beyond the school environment. many do not know that life does not end in the school environment. one of the most dicey things is when you mix up school with education. once you allow such chemistry to take place, you would have to spend the rest of your life being a member of the rat-race.
You don't need to go to school to become successful; but you need to be educated. Please never confuse schooling for education, many are in school but not educated, many didn't attend any school and are highly educated. Stop limiting yourself because you didn't go to school, its not knowledge that guarantees success, it is the application of knowledge that guarantees success! They don't teach application of knowledge in schools, they only give knowledge. be warned!
this is one of the reasons why most of the so-called first-class graduates and professors are impotent and unforthcoming when it comes to"pragmatism". they are very good at doing the same thing but expecting different result. they can recite genesis to revelation offhand. they can as well tell you all the theories propounded by philosophers in antiquity.yet one would wonder why these people were unable to apply any of these theories..!
if truly an educated person is that individual who graduated with a first-class degree, then we ought to have seen their impacts on society--at least in the area of science and technology, economics, politics et all. but the reverse is the case. why? the reason is because they are not pregnant so they can't deliver. i called them 'Conglomeration of theoretical gurus'.
on the same pace as this, i once said it that an educated person is not someone who graduated with a CGPA of 4.5 or 5.0. an educated person is that individual who is useful to himself, to his environment and the society at large. what is the essence of being educated when one does not have impact on society?
life is not about good or bad CGPA. life is about what you want to offer and how far you can go with it.
wait! if tomorrow all the professors and first-class graduates were wiped out from the surface of the Earth, what would happen? how many technologies would suffer discontinuity? how many inventions would suffer? how many researches would suffer? these are the questions we need to ask ourselves. even within our national space, we have professors of economics yet we are still battling with economic dilapidation and financial precipitation. is that not a miraculous thing to worry about? the same story in other areas but, which one is ineffable for me to mention here? just that it would be of great interest if our educational system be transformed from paper-work-syndrome to an intellectual-based- institute. an avenue where worthwhile and defendable degrees would be awarded to the worthy; those who would proffer lasting solutions to the problems bedeviling the Nigerian state. also, the beauty of education should not be a tale of first class degree. it should be about applicability, Versatility and functionality.the moment we realise the need to overhaul our educational system, then the story of half-baked first-class holders and professors would have gone to exile. A mad man does not know he is mad until he regains his freedom. it would get better the moment we realise that our educational system is in a state of maddening crescendo.

Saraki, Sowore And The Wailers

Written By: Egbeolowo Ridwan

It would have sounded unpleasant to the ears of they that heard Martin Niemoller the day he said, " First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out— Because I was not a Jew.Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak
for me.
Niemoller spoke extemporaneously during the post world war in the west Germany.

The didactic aspect of Niemoller's speech one should know is, "whether you keep mute in the face of tyranny or not, you may be the next person they will come for". Sowore & Team Sahara have spoken and that is why they are hunting for them at all costs. Whether their charms will stand the test of time remains to be seen. The issue here is not just about Sowore &his team being sued to a Jankara court or not. The issue is that, what would become of the downtrodden majority if Saraki and his cohorts eventually gets away with this conspiracy? If the likes of Sowore continues to be tormented unjustly, what the future hold for me and you remains to be seen?

As we all know before now, Omoyele Sowore is a human rights and pro-democracy campaigner. He is the founder and publisher of the much-cited SaharaReporters.com, website of citizen journalism, supplying videos, photos, news stories and commentaries that expose official corruption and abuse in Nigeria’s government. while the other party is known for political horse trading before, then and now. A man whose political status is way bigger than anything before the rule of law.
As we all know that the greater part of the Nigerian problem is the ruling elite, selfish, greedy, unpatriotic and often lawless.

So, We should not be disgruntled and flabbergasted if someone like Saraki wants to sabotage the many years glory, beauty and fortitude of Saharareporters.
It is more or less a battle between the kingdom of light and the kingdom of darkness. Just that whenever i think about the likes of Saraki, i get tremendously and stupendously catapulted in a state of emotional paroxysm, because these people are nothing but an all time promoter of corruption, injustice and nepotism.

My advocacy here is not that of a prejudice but a fact that is beyond reasonable doubt. Sowore is not a perfect man; but a man of simplicity whose ideology is clear to all and sundry, except for those who belongs to the oppressing class.
Mere looking at the reign of the Sarakis, the reign that has not been challenged for over 35years.So, fighting a political giant like Saraki, poses a lot of risks to people like Sowore, who in their church mind decided to challenge these monsters in one way or the other.

Prior to this time, One of the repressive attempts meted out to Sowore & his team was the hasty, lopsided and draconian judgement by one Justice Oyinlola who may have chosen to be an instrument of oppression in this case. I sincerely know that If it were to be other media stations such as TVC, Galaxy, AIT, and the likes, Saraki and his cohorts would have finalised everything on phone without leaving their respective rooms. But as it stands now, the case is beyond phone calls and that is why they are running helter-skelter to implicate Sowore & his team by any available means. This is to show that Sowore and his team are intensively different and cannot be taken for granted by dubious means.

Though A lot has been said on the basis that the case shouldn't have been in the hometown of Saraki due to his antecedent and pedigree in the state. seriously, Looking at the Sarakis dynasty in kwara state, it is enough for one to doubt the authenticity and legality of any case filed against Saraki not to talk of him filing a case against an individual or group. What an easy road for him to get justice at all costs!
Why would he do that remains a riddle to those who do not understand the seed of corruption planted by Saraki in his hometown.
For example, do you expect Jonathan to file a case against Saraki in Kwara Sate? Do you expect Saraki to ordinarily file a case against Jonathan in Bayelsa State?

What am saying in essence is that the oppressors finds it easier to seek justice where their personalities are highly recognised. they do this in order to incapacitate the truth seekers.Even plato testifies to the fact that No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth. Well, No matter the level of hatred and witch-hunting by the Sarakis, the tenacity, temerity and intrepidity of the truth-seekers will continue to flourish as long as Karma is at work. Lies may never be discovered in twenty years but one day the truth will surely catch.

THE RISE OF NEO-FASCISM IN NIGERIA TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS

By Egbeolowo Olaitan

Tertiary institutions, the backbone of the society is now the irony and shadow of itself. It is appalling to witness the gestapo style employed by those at the corridor of education in order to get rid of radicals in our tertiary institutions. This is a simile to the horrifying and inhumane events in nazi germany during the world war 2 when the fundamental human rights of the citizens were trumped upon.
In fact, the world war 2 was triggered by political, economic and religious factors. This same war was responsible for the murders of six million jews during the 'Holocaust'. Adolf hitler was of the opinion that he would conquer the world thereby capturing and subjecting the people to his control in order to be a powerful and incomparable ruler in the world.
The world war 2 is one of the most bloodbaths war in human history, headed by the one and only fascist- adolf hitler of germany; this same war was responsible for the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki(the largest city in japan). Up till now, the two places became deserted after the nuclear bomb explosion.
it is regrettably lugubrious to see the same style being adopted by scholars in our ivory towers. The victimisation of radicals who protested against poor welfarism in our ivory towers is a perfect embodiment of tyranny. It is observable as students in our tertiary institutions are being rusticated or victimised for protesting against bad management via social media.
Henceforth, I doubt the integrity and supremacy of the constitution itself. How can I be rusticated because I want a good welfare? even in the 1999 constitution, section 14(2)b says " the primary purpose of government in a country is to provide a good welfare and security for the people. I laugh in chinese!

A university is meant to be the most dogged defenders of democratic principles, and to uphold democratic values. But the contrary action came up, the same university where we have professors, doctors, msc holders e.t.c became tyrants by adopting the style of a fascist such as Hitler, mussolini in order to devalue democratic values and hallmarks of democracy.
Donald trump in one of his speeches acknowledged the fact by saying "peaceful protest is one of the hallmarks of democracy". A society or institution that tries it best to frustrate or condemn a peaceful protest and cannot withstand criticism does not deserve to exist. Am I making sense? May be I need to constitutionally entrenched my point, now that the gospel of rustication is the order of the day in nigerian tertiary institutions.
Imagine the following injustice(s)
(1) In Unilag> Olorunfemi adeyeye was rusticated because he wrote an article. This is the same university where a lecturer asked some of his students to kneel down before the class. Are they in secondary school?

(2)In kwara state poly, a student who has finished his project was expelled by the school management for standing for the welfare of the students as the student welfare secretary. Which one is ineffable for me to mention here?
Is it the hike in fee in ekiti state university? Or how the FUTO students pay to register courses after registering online. education is now a business enterprise(that is a write up for another day)

Yet, the constitution says the following

* section 38(1)> every person shall be entitled to freedom of expression, including freedom to hold opinions without interference.

* section 40> every person shall be entitled to freedom of association, including freedom of assembly.
Note: not in the case of secret society

As you can see, there is no basis for their actions. They just feel like oppressing we the nigerian students because they know that their brothers and sisters are in control of (the) judicial system. Is this a country or zoo? Truth be told, I have not gain anything from this system of education. If not for personal development that assist me a lot just like most of us do, I don't know what would have happened to me.

With all the proves in this article, it shows that our so called scholars do not understand the tenet of democracy. As we fold our hands and watch tyranny prevail because of fear of the uknown, radicals are being oppressed and suppressed by our educated illiterates who claims to be scholars. One may wonder if they are ignorant of democratic values or they are in a state of self denial.
The only way forward in getting rid of this social and academic malady is to reform our education sector and other social institutions. Dictatorship style such as hitler's or mussolini's should not be found in our ivory towers as its defies the primary purpose of such institution.
If this act of tyranny continues in our citadel of learning, we will only be successful in educating robots and anti- intellectuals.

If I am rusticated or expunged tomorrow, you shouldn't be snoring because you can be rusticated or expunged in the evening. Little wonder, rustication or expulsion cannot change my predestination. Predestination can only be delayed.

THE FELICITY OF CGPA AND THE FALSE ASSURANCE OF SUCCESS
By Egbeolowo Olaitan

Some would say education is the best legacy, some would say education is a success guarantee in the real world, some would say education is the only legitimate way to be successful in life.... Well, Whether education is the only way or not, we shall see as the world keep changing.
I could remember the common Apothegm that is very usual among the Nigerian parents which goes thus:
"my son, Go to school, Get good grades in order to get a safe secure job. This Apothegm has been trending in our society for a very long time especially in the Occidental world. But this Fuddy- duddy mentality seem to be going on as the world keep changing... Little wonder, the idea of go to school, get good grades in order to get a safe secure job" was a good idea for people born before 1930. Today, we are are not in that age anymore (Dark Ages).

In school we learn that mistakes are bad, and we are punished for making them. Yet, if you look at the way humans are designed to learn, we learn by making mistakes. We learn to walk by falling down. If we never fell down, we would never walk"
I still don't know the reason why people keep engaging in a fierce competition of CGPA among themselves(first class). In the course of this competition of CGPA among these people, some would be happy while some would be sad and see their life(s) as a diminutive one all because of low CGPA. But those who make it to first class would be joyful and see the world as if it is theirs alone.. But what baffles me most is that most of them do end up being a prominent member of the 'RAT RACE' (relying on paycheck all the day of their lives prone Hard working generation). One would ask what a rat race is....... A rat race is an endless, self- defeating, or pointless pursuit. A way of life in which people are caught up in a fiercely competitive struggle for wealth or power. Most of them don't get rich on time because they've put their minds where they are not suppose to. The Yoruba's would say "IBI TI WON FI OJU SI ONA OGBA BE"

The felicity of CGPA and the False assurance of success inspired me to review my four semesters in TASUED; With a view to analysing the values inculcated into my life, and if a University Degree here in Nigeria is even worth the strive. Hmmmm!!! How on earth is it possible for a decimal point to be a significant determinant of success? People commit suicide for not making a targeted gradient point. The society has catapulted us into a believe system that "not making a good CGPA means not making it in life"--- just like a simple analogy I asseverated AB-Initio.

I have said this for the umpteenth time that not everybody is made for the system of Education in Nigeria. A place where some lecturers see as an avenue to extort the students through their unnecessary handouts and PDF Books. of course, their dubious ways of mounting pressure on the students especially the females must not be left out(Sexual Harassment of the Highest order that is irresistible LOL).
some are naturally gifted in fashion models, musicians, technicians, photographs, craftsmen Et cetera. These people are meant to be in their area of specialisation not in a place their talents doesn't belong to. Generally, the basic knowledge and usage of English is a Sine Qua Non to make headway in a British colonized country like ours. However, this can be achieve outside the four walls of the university (informal education/Non formal education). It is fallacious for one to believe that quality education can only be acquired through Formal education. It is an indubitable fact that most of the things taught outside the four walls of the school are not been taught in the university. I know of people who have come back to their right senses by discovering a way of Navigating in this century of ours. Aside from taken a good observation/experimentation, There are three categories of students in Nigerian Universities.

These are:

1. The EFIWES= These people can recite from Genesis to Revelation without skedaddling. They assimilate in a fast pace and learn within the shortest period of time.

2. The Averagees as I use to call them= these people always read and read in order to understand properly either by criming, regurgitation or any other means. these people normally dwells on B's/C's most of the time, unlike the 'EFIWES' who always kiss A's most of the time as if it is their birthright.....LOL

I once met an old friend of mine from Olabisi Onabanjo University. In the course of our conversations, he was just flowing as if something has been programmed in his memory. In fact, this guy can recite all the theories of notable philosophers such as Plato, Aristotle, Socrates, David Hume, John Dewey, Karl Max and others. I was flabbergasted and Gobsmacked to the extent that I had my teeth gnashed by such gigantic knowledge. Nevertheless, when I challenged this great grandiloquent Friend of mine to put all of these things into pragmatism by proffering a practical solution to something I posed before him, he fumbled and started stammering. Analytically, he is good on paper, he is a genius. But in pragmatism (the most important aspect), he is impotent and unforthcoming. Things like this catapulted me into a state of asking the Following questions...
What is the purpose of belabouring oneself on something that cannot be practically applied to one's life particularly the society in which one resides? What is the purpose of wasting so much time on a Fuddy-duddy education that is more of a theory than practical? I am a discussant of History and it has made me realise that from time immemorial, whenever there is problem in the society, tertiary institutions are places of solace. They are citadels of solutions. Government would go to schools to consult undergraduates, lecturers, professors as they posed to be the backbone of the society. Now, the so called education sector is in a state of oblivion due to the inability of our leaders to do the need be as expected of them. Education is now a form of Business Enterprise where they think they can just be rolling admission seekers in, and with the hope of rolling them out when due... This is nothing but a pure madness coming from our leaders. But what pains me most is the proletariat. The proletariats are majorly the victims of this monstrous phenomenon. Who will now salvage us from this PENKELEMES? Could he be that we are heading for better days with this "PAPER WORK SYNDROME"? hmmmm!! Sometimes I look at some lecturers here in Nigeria that do encourages "Criming" or "La Crime La Pour" by instructing their students to give back verbatim on what they've learnt so far in that particular course. Are there no "common sense" persons at the corridors of Education anymore? Sometimes I wonder who is teaching whom? Hmmmmm!!
Well, Strong CGPA like four point upward is good and something to have. It is a thing of pride to its followers (First class by force by fire).

I'm not saying good CGPA is of no use or worthless, but it is not a success guarantee in the real world.
For instance, We know people like Wole Soyinka who by the grace of God graduated with a third class honour degree at the time of his studies in Ibadan where some people think he can't achieve much (Academically). But some of his course mates who graduated with first class were so much happy as at the time, and look at the future as if it is theirs alone... Now, let us take a good look at Wole Soyinka today. He is now a prayer point for some parents who wants their children to be intelligent at all costs. one would hear a nomenclature like 'OJOGBON SOYINKA' attributed to someone who is intelligent. This style is very common in this part of the world especially among the Yoruba's. A third class degree Holder bagged Nobel Prize. What a life! Hmmmmm!!! Should i call this a miracle or what?
I am very much sure that some of his course mates who graduated with first class are no where to be found today. Graduating with a third class degree Doesn't make you a total failure in life (our greatest glory is not in never falling but in rising up every time we fall). It is a fact here in Nigeria to say some third class graduates are better of Some Folks who claims to be Theoretical First Class as I use to call them . Graduating with a first class is great, but I believe so much in one's intelligent and what he or she has to offer me. I don't believe in what a Friend of mine(Adeyeye) describe as "PAPER WORK SYNDROME" as to whether you are a First Class or not.
CGPA is not a correct measure of intelligence.
It keeps the students out of touch with reality.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Nigeria A *Happy-Go-Lucky State* Under the Aegis of Change Mantra written by Egbeolowo-Ridwan I write as a Bonafide citizen of Nigeria I write as a compos mentis Homo Sapien I write as homo Politicus et Homo Socialis I write as Albert Estein of the Century Am glad when it said *Thy glory, O Israel is slain upon high places: How are the mighty fallen! *Tell it not in Gath, publish it not in the streets of Askelon; lest the daughters of the philistines rejoice, and lest the daughters of the uncircumcised exalt. That is the case when the hobo from the hobo-camp pejoratively hobnobs with the hobgoblin. Nigerians have been bamboozled, razzle-dazzle, razzmatazz politically. Detonating from the grandiloquence of my academic reservoir, where I became lachrymose in my Explicandum, Explication and Elucidation of the debilitating and oscillating economic situation of my dear country. I am happy to use this opportunity to express my bitter experience and hardship that is now a cankerworm in Buhari’s Nigeria. It is no more news that Nigeria’s struggling economy is finally and technically in recession as opines by minister of finance which is now on the track with no hope of coming to a favorable end. The Nigerian economy just now is on the verge of epilepsy which has put the Nigerian citizen in what I described as *Happy-Go-Lucky* and in a desultory attitude. Nigeria as a consuming nation rather than a producing nation is not only alarming but also uncalled for , that a third world nation like Nigeria prefer consumption to production which has put more injuryand danger on her economy in the past and in years to come if care is not taken. I think at this juncture the president or the federal government just now needs to be economically indigenous through the aims of promoting Nigerian made product rather than Loafing around the international community for goods importation *exempli gratia* the importation of toothpick which is still on for now, is it that we don’t have the natural or artificial ingredient/atonement to produce it or what? Well, I am not surprised because That’s the case and outcome for a nation who prefer consumption to production, a nation that find it difficult to increase his level of production ahead of consumption will definitely have problems in the nearest future. and also, My pity does not only go to the average man on the street that has to take home 18k minimum wage as salary or less but what the future hold for us as a nation. The current economic situation of Nigeria has left her citizens in a desultory attitude to the extent at which the hope and survival of the common man on the street is in a state of oblivion while majority of our leaders live in peasanted luxury and propensity solitude. This is sardonic, lugubrious, contumelious, opprobrious and exigent. The most exasperating of all is the security issue that our leaders hold with levity hand, like my usual saying *we voted for change, he got victory but what we get in return, what we get in appreciation is the colossal, gargantuan and humongous high cost of living which is radically and critically affecting the Nigerian citizen to the extent at which some are now into one or two forms of vices such as Kidnapping, armed robbery, terrorism et cetera which threatens the very fabric of the Nations economy. I think if there is humongous high cost of living, at least the security and welfare of the people should be a priority and subject of importance as entrenched in the 1999 constitution section14(2B) rather than taken it with levity hand. After more than a year in office, I think one can give a preliminary assessment of the performance of the Buhari administration vis a vis its campaign promises. Generally I think the government has failed to fulfill most of its campaign promises especially in the area of economy. Even in the fight against corruption, as Rev. Father Kukah rightly said, the anti-corruption fight is targeted at individuals instead of empowering the relevant institutions to fight corruption and also address the factors responsible for corruption in our system. FINALLY, I am using this media platform to crave the APC- LED-ADMINISTRATION THAT FOLLOWING THEIR ANTECEDENT AND PEDIGREE WE KNOW THEM, THEY SHOULD PROVE THEIR CHANGE Mantra and stop blaming the past administration because that was the main reason why my fellow Nigerians opted for change in 2015. Enough of this political somnambulism and malocclusion, political tribalism and political witch- hunting. And also, It is very sad to know about the recent *I DON’T CARE ATTITUDE COCOONED WITH TRIBALMANIFESTATION THAT GREETED our Dear PRESIDENT* the president as a matter of fact needs to educate its people on the importance of living together and the positive impact of Esprit De Corps. The president just now needs to show more than a Lethargic, more than a complacent; more than a passive interest in ensuring the unification of its people otherwise nepotism, tribalism, impunity and ethnicity would be the order of the day. There are circumstantial evidence on tribal manifestation that greeted our dear president, a cornucopia evidence that suggest what was to be demonstrated by our dear President What are the circumstantial evidence? 1. A couple of weeks ago a 73 year old Christian grandmother was beheaded in Kano because she asked some Muslims to stop washing their feet in front of her door before their prayers. 2. A few days later a female pastor of the redeemed church of God was hacked to pieces by a mob of Muslims in the Kubwa district of Abuja simply for doing her morning cry of evangelism and urging the people to give their lives to Christ. 3. not too long after that two hundred Muslim youths burnt down a catholic church claiming that they had no right to go to church on Friday because it was the Muslim day of worship 4. The Benue massacre orchestrated, animated and masterminded by the Fulani Herdsmen. Considering the Aforementioned one can quickly say tribalism is on the rise because our Government appears to be encouraging it by allowing injustice to pass by without doing the need be to put justice at the prevailing point. This is sardonically lugubrious, enervating, erroneous, exasperating, attenuating, disgusting, horrific and unpleasant to the ears. Then I ask myself this rhetorical question; Are southerners and Christians not Nigerians as well? For how long will this racism go on? Does the principle of federal character still in place? THE PRESIDENT AS A MATTER OF URGENCY AND EXIGENCY SHOULD LOOK INTO THIS *HORNET”S NEST* BECAUSE THIS IS NOT THE CHANGE WE AGREED ON OR ARE THEY PLANNING TO ISLAMISE NIGERIA……. THE LORD IS OUR STRENGHTH…….E GO BETTER MY PEOPLE…… CHANGE IS GRADUAL PROCESS AS THEY SAY, LET SEE IF THEY HAVE THE ABRACADABRA TO TRANSFORM AND TRANSMUTE OUR SORRY STATE…..ALUTA CONTINUA, VICTORIA ASCERTA. Open Letter to his Excellency, Governor Akinwumi- Ambode (Written by Egbeolowo-Ridwan-OLaitan) Your Excellency Sir, I want to use this medium of social media to reach you, since getting to you has a lot of protocols. But, I believed that, even if you don't read my message personally, your aids will get it across to you. SIR, may you live long and achieve the stated aims and objective that will transform and transmute Lagos State in years to come.
I write as a bonafide Citizen of Nigeria......... I write as a true Descendant of Oduduwa...................... I write as one who feel the pains of the people. I write as a political and social animal........ I write as someone who lives, wine and dine in Lagos State......

It is very sad to know about the ongoing crises at IGBO-OLOMU area of ISAWO, IKORODU, LAGOS which has kept the people living in this environment in an abject ululation and fear of the unknown. It is no more news that the IJAWS are the Enigma Terrorizing this Area in the course of their Egocentric Benefit which has cost some peoples life while some were forced to flee due to the disorderly outburst that greeted the area. The Lagos State Government as a matter of urgency and Exigency just now need to show more than a Complacent, more than a Lethargic, more than a Passive interest on the Security Imbroglio that wet into the IGBO-OLOMU area of ISAWO, IKORODU ,LAGOS.

The Security and Welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government as diaphanously spelt out in the 1999 constitution Section14(2b) which I believe to be the utmost priority to Lagos State Government.
I am pleading to you Sir, not on the ground that you are not doing well as the number one citizen of Lagos State, as the Father of the State but am pleading to you Sir on the inimical and exigent situation that is now a cankerworm in IGBO-OLOMU area of ISAWO. As a matter of Fact SIR, Fear of the unknown is now the order of day From ISAWO road to IGBO-OLOMU junction which is fully part of Lagos State. And also, am very happy to also use this opportunity to crave your indulgence that the deadly sect have just move to the level of kidnapping people in demand for ransom in order to upgrade their financial system since the oil business is not yieiding much as expected.
Finally, I would implore the Lagos State Government not to take or handle the uncovered injustice orchestrated and animated by the IJAWS with Levity hand in order to safeguard life and property of the people before it get out of hand otherwise "KILE TO PA OSIKA,OHUN RERE ATI BAJE" I beg u once again my amiable Governor to make hay while the sun shine and strike while the iron is hot "so that the daughters of the Philistines can rejoice" your Excellency Sir, following your antecedent and pedigree we believe you can do it, we know you; we believe and assume you to be the political Moses that would take us to the Promise Land.

Politics / Niger Delta Menace And The Nigerian Economy by dagama49(m): 12:54pm On Jul 11, 2016
NIGER DELTA MENACE AND THE NIGERIAN ECONOMY
(Written By EGBEOLOWO-RIDWAN OLAITAN)

Before I dabbled into the dynamic or chameleonic conundrum of ours today an attempt would be made on certain ideology/rationale
Nigerian adopted federal system of government
The primary motive behind the adoption of this system is to maintain unity in diversity
Nigerian is an heterogeneous society
There are 774 local government in Nigeria (formal)
The heterogeneity of her society really paved way for federalism to gravitate
Ipso facto(by the fact itself) considering the heterogeneity of our society one can alacritously say federalism is a *prima inter paes* but what is the purpose of being in a compendious laconic lacuna when one is still at the realm of sciamachy. It is very crystal clear that federalism was adopted not for ethnocentrism, mediocrity, prebendalism and egocentrism but to maintain unity in diversity. Recently, the Niger delta crises that has been simmering for years assumed a dangerous dimension. The militia groups blew up some oil flow stations, abducted some foreign workers and disrupted oil business in the area. At this state of affair there seems to be a pestiferous tendency that bother on federalism and ethnical factor that exists among different tribes and ethnic group in Nigeria. Niger delta as a paradigm for oil discoveries and installation which serve as the mainstay of our economy in one way or the other, although; it will be inimical and pugnacious to shy away *quod erat demonstradum* in the Niger delta region by the Nigerian government. The Niger delta has been complaining about environmental damage from oil exploration and rising unemployment and poverty in the region, but the successive governments and the multi-national oil corporations have been insensitive to the plight of the people. Like the saying *historia vitae migista* the people have endured a long history of economic and social injustice. As mentioned earlier, the people of Niger delta have been suffering from environmental degradation and pollution through oil spillage and gas flaring. The
THE MAIN CAUSES OF NIGER DELTA CRISIS
The main causes of Niger delta crisis include
1. GREED AND SELFISHNESS
2. DEPRIVATION AND POVERTY
3. SOCIAL INJUSTICE

The natural resources of a country are the sovereign property of its people. A persons *benefit* equals his or her contribution and no community should be given more when it contributes less or be given less when it contributes more! That is the crux of the matter in the Niger delta crises! The Niger delta is contributing a lot to the economic well being of Nigeria and it is getting nothing, but destruction in return. Without social justice there will be no peace in Niger delta and socio economic development will continue to kiss the region.
The cornucopia modus –operandi employed by the Niger delta avengers which are in phases seriously and violently weighing down the glory and fortune/pride of the Nigerian economy and majorly the Nigerian citizens especially the average man on the streets who now wallows in vituperative ululation, economic quagmire and financial tumult. At this juncture, should I opine that this administration has no blueprint on socio-economic lemmatas, but I would advise mr president as the father of the nation that following his antecedent and pedigree we know him, he can do better, but at this point we will not kowtow in their powwow if justice is not done because injustice everywhere is a threat to justice anywhere. According to research and technology it has been revealed that most terrorism/militancy cases in Nigeria are majorly occasioned by political factor cocooned with a pestiferous tendency. This is so because Nigeria is a state with diverse culture and different ethnic group. Unless we do away with politics of prebendalism, nepotism, mercantilism and ethnicity and imbibed the spirit of meritocracy and stop apotheosizing where a presidential aspirant comes from.
PROBABLE REMEDY/PANACEA TO THE MALADY ON PIAZZA
As noted earlier, the federal government not done anything serious to alleviate the peoples suffering and anger, other than shifting blames.
The solutions are;
1. The federal government as a matter of fact should put appropriate policies in place to grow the economy to reduce the rising unemployment and poverty, environmental degradation and the violence in the Niger delta.
2. The federal government should also ensure that the resources that are allocated for social programs and development in the area are used for the purpose.
3. The federal government as a matter of fact need to stop bribing their *OGAS AT THE TOP* who will now squandered the money at the end of the day. Instead, the federal government should find a lasting solution to the cause of the problem rather than playing political game with their leaders.
4. Finally, implementing true federalism in Nigeria would provide a lasting solution to the Niger delta crises. I think the region should be given the *FREEDOM* to control its resources and pay appropriate taxes to the federal government. How could the region develop if it lacks the freedom to control its destiny?

A BRIEF SUMMARY OF NIGERIAN POLITICS AND ITS PEOPLE (Written by Egbeolowo -Ridwan-Olaitan) I am Completely Knackered, Flabbergasted and Gobsmacked by the Munificent and Pedantic level at which the Nigerian people Eulogize and "Zombie followed" our so call Politicians. This Locution in its Jocundity has left Nigerian Lachrymose in a Scathing Ululation. To me this Shibboleth or catchword is a Travesty and a Parody to Lampooned the Masses' Expected Eleemosynary from the Government after the Pugnacious and Ferocious Masturbation of our Economy "Prima Facie" by the past administration. It is very crystal Glaring that all this Political and Economic Brouhaha/Hoo-Ha bother on our Political Modus- Vivendi and also bother on the Byzantine Modus- Vivendi or Byzantine Lifestyle of most of our Leaders.. And Above all it is also a pity that 50yrs after Independent we are still Apotheosizing the "Fonset Origo" of a Presidential Aspirant which is Orchestrated and Animated by what we have at best "Politics Of Ethnicity Occasioned by Zoning" which has kept us in an abject Ululation and Economic Quagmire. It is Sardonically Lugubrious, Exasperating, Debilitating, Attenuating and also Pugnacious with the way the game Politics is becoming a Bugaboo... What a Political La-Di-Da, What a Political Jabberwocky, What a Political Hanky-Panky we have come with. Now the citizen has been deprived of their Inalienable Right while majority of our Leaders Live in Peasanted Luxury And Propensity Solitude . who will now Salvage us from this Mephistophelean and Machiavellian Cabal and I also pray that this would not Ignite a "FLOCCINAUCINIHILIPILIFICATION" Self- Reproach) and as for me I will not knuckle-under in their Political Get-Together, I will refuse to Kowtow in their powwow. Thank you (I still remain my humble self) what a PENKELEMES ERA WE HAVE COME WITH
