Like you said, Iyke-D, it's just for fun reading. Mind you, i didn't say the man was "non-smart." He could've been a super fly player, now wrapped around a lil sweet lady's lil finger smiley
Politics / Re: Chris Okotie (Fresh Party) For President In 2007? by dearzi(f): 6:25pm On May 11, 2006
@TayoD
grin You know me now! if i'm having nightmares about the man, should tell you there's more going on there! lol, plus i'm still waiting for the messages you'll give me that'll make me a believer. His message is lost on me o! i'm not a spiritual thermometer or anything, but i know when there's no rhema in a word, and i'm sorry i've not heard any. The only one i've heard is "apocalipso" or whatever, "apocalupsis" or something!

Honestly, If Oyedepo wanted to run, i'll go home to vote for him, to make sure every vote counts, i'll take up an extra job to pay for another Nigerian's ticket back home, so he can vote. That's a man with leadership skills. Not Pastor Okotie. As for him being the best teacher in Lagos? TayoD, please, don't make us fight o! i've got a black belt, lol, honestly we need to see so i can see the impact Chris Okotie has had on you, then i'll know what to do from there, lol, the members of his church are the RMDs, show me one strong leader that goes to his church, show me his fruits, then i'll say ok! i've not seen anything o! please, let's take this else where!

As for him being multi-talented, i heard he's the choir, the band, praise and worship team as well as the pastor of the church, is it true? that's what i heard o! since you were going there before, maybe you can tell me.
Religion / Re: Is There Anything Like Spiritual Attack? by dearzi(f): 6:09pm On May 11, 2006
Yeah, people lean heavily on the spiritual and neglect what they can immediately take care of, but it doesn't belie the fact that there's a spiritual realm! a realm that our minds can't grasp ordinarily. There's nothing wrong with relying on God, or over relying on Him for that matter. If we could do it all we won't need Him.
If you believe in God, you'd better believe in the existence of the devil as well, but what matters is how much hold you let each have over your life. I'd much rather have God and over rely on Him any time, than be a play ground for the devil.

That said, if i fail the paper i'm supposed to be writing now, much as i'd LOVE to blame the devil, this one i know is not the work of the devil, but because i'm on Nairaland at this time, instead of writing.
Education / Re: Are Men Smarter Than Women? by dearzi(f): 5:14pm On May 11, 2006
Well, the response was written under the assumption that the thread was begun by a guy.
Politics / Re: Women Discussing Politics? This Is Ridiculous! by dearzi(f): 5:00pm On May 11, 2006
Really, i think we should let this topic go. It was either a joke and it's done its job, or it's doing something else. Women in politics shouldn't be an issue, we've been there since Genesis doing the behind the scene work, but now we're becoming more prominent. Men who don't like it--deal with it!
Education / Re: Are Men Smarter Than Women? by dearzi(f): 4:58pm On May 11, 2006
I'm thinking the person that started this thread's a guy--that should give you your answer right there! cuz this isn't a topic for debate.

Men have their strengths--they're good for taking out the trash, fixing stuff around the house, sitting on the couch and battling with the remote, and when they're Hot they want to get some. Women, on the other hand, run the show! it takes great smarts to take care of a man's whims, as nonsensical as some of them can be, run the household, nurture the kids, see they get good grades in school, if the man brings home the bacon, the woman makes the bacon--it don't make itself! plus, it takes a smart woman to catch and keep a man. If the man's caught by the same ol' tricks, tells you the level of his IQ tongue

@Bolex
You say God took the woman out of the man, true, why? cuz the man needed help! though the help he needed was in himself--he couldn't do it! and so God created woman. In the race of knowledge, women beat men to seeking knowledge, take Eve for example, she sought to know and ate the fruit, and her husband followed suit--not the other way round. So, it's in women, we just need to be given the opportunity to prove ourselves, if only high handed men would give us the chance--we'll show y'all what we can do, and how smart we are.
Religion / Re: Is There Anything Like Spiritual Attack? by dearzi(f): 4:43pm On May 11, 2006
Yes, spiritual attacks do exist. As a Christian you shouldn't just attribute everything to the devil. Cuz we lie a lot on the devil, something happens and we're so quick to say "oh! it was the devil, if not for him i won't have done it" or "the devil made me do it" please! some times we need to take responsibility for our actions. Each man is drawn away of his own lust! Some of the issues we ascribe to the devil, i won't be surprised if he doesn't know anything about them!

On the issues of attack, yes, a christian can be attacked, unbelievers will constantly be manipulated by the devil and his cohorts! but if God be for you, who can be against you, when Greater is He that is in you than he that's in the world! if you've been attacked by the devil, either in dream or whatever, wake up and take charge--rebuke it in the name above all names.

Some people dream and see themselves in school uniforms they'll interprete it that they're being demoted in life! who told you so? if that be the case, you have the authority to call those things that be not as though they are! that's what i practise in my life. So, instead of cowering because of spiritual attacks and what have you, be bold and speak the word of truth for that situation, and don't be afraid to say "i rebuke you in the name of Jesus." Please don't go and say i rebuke you in the name of "Jesus who Paul preacheth" before one demon would whip you. But if you have faith and know your rights in Christ, no demon hatched out of hell would taunt you--if they do, you have the solution for them.
Politics / Re: Chris Okotie (Fresh Party) For President In 2007? by dearzi(f): 4:30pm On May 11, 2006
@Kodewrita

Well said. I think that LG you want him to run for is even a bit too big, i want him to start from his church population--when they improve as Christians, and with the quality of the gospel they hear, then i'll agree that he should run for his neighborhood chairman. What makes him the leader of his church? because he's the founder? anybody can found something! and i'm sure people would follow, all they need is slight persuasion, especially in this generation where people are looking for feel good preachers!

I don't think he can make an impact in Nigeria, and nothing's going to change my mind on that issue. He shouldn't run for anything at all. He should continue, infact, in my opinion, start studying his bible and quit bamboozling his congregation with grammar.
Religion / Re: Should We Use Images And Symbols In Our Worship? by dearzi(f): 4:04am On May 11, 2006
Ajisafe my friend, i see you've been here already.lol.

I don't believe in a potrait of Jesus, or a crucifix of Him hanging from it. I like to believe in the Jesus of my heart. For people that think the images are reminders of Jesus--how are you so sure that's what Jesus looked like? for those that don't believe the bible, i'll advise you to go and buy one and start studying it from cover to cover, because it is evident you'll be tossed to and fro, if you're not already, by every wind of doctrine. (Eph 4:14)
Politics / Re: Women Discussing Politics? This Is Ridiculous! by dearzi(f): 2:47am On May 11, 2006
Hmmm Nwoke, if women were severely masculine looking or grotesquely obese you won't love them o!
Politics / Re: Women Discussing Politics? This Is Ridiculous! by dearzi(f): 11:26pm On May 10, 2006
I think the generalization that women can't change oil and tyres is just wrong. I don't like girlie girls, but don't mean they don't have their strengths, though i find them very irritating.

When my mum was teaching me how to drive she taught me how to check the oil, and water, and when to top both, and even how change a tyre--even before she taught me how to move the car. When i asked when the real lesson would start she said after the completion of the tyre changing torture. When asked why i had to learn all that, her reason's were so that i don't have to get stuck helpless on the road waiting for a man to come help me with the tyre, and so that i don't give chauvinistic men the opportunity to say "what's a woman doing driving a car!"

I'm one of those chics that change my bulbs, hook up my equipments after i buy them--so i don't wait for a male friend to come and connect anything. i love basket ball--watched the playoffs last night, i can tell you who played, won and lost. I go to the gym--i lift weights (i don't look like a wrestler). I go to school, and i tutor male athletes in biology and micro economics! i've not arrived, but look out for me--i'm sure rising.

Bottom line, whether 4play is joking or not, i'm a woman, and i can hold my own anywhere, and there are MANY women that can do just that and better.

Who are you kissing four times? was i included?? no, why not? yes? ok, kisses back at you kiss, but that's only if i was included to start off with! if not, infact, by force i'm included grin

Please my ribs hurt from laughing. Has the man never heard of a palm pilot or one of those small gadgets people use these days? even if he has to have notes, hasn't he heard of the word "concise?" please, the man just has to go!

Originator? not possible. I don't swear as a rule and out of discipline and habit. Contribute? at all. The most i've done is what happened between us, and i felt ashamed that i went there--it's not happened in a very very very, long time

@Ajisafe

Teacher ke? i'm a student o! and please spare the world of your wrath--people have enough personal demons, to add your wrath to it. Just be more gentle, that's all i ask. It makes reading more easy. Cuz i cringe every time i read swear words and stuff like that.
TV/Movies / Re: The 'Passion Of Christ' Movie by dearzi(f): 12:48am On May 09, 2006
Ah! "The Passion." You know, just before that movie came out, i'd been studying Isaiah 53, and something the Lord was teaching me about it. So when i went to see "The Passion" it all became most visual. I cried, and cried, i thought i was going to die from crying. When i left the theatre there was no shame in having a fuffed face and seriously blood red eyes, everyone had it. Even the most stone hearted person i know, was sober. I've tried watching it again, but, abeg (please) i can't. Once is enough for me. I'll just read Isaiah 53 for details and with it will come the memories of that movie. It's the most accurate and best depiction of "Jesus of Nazareth"
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 12:41am On May 09, 2006
Na so o! sometimes, i think i missed my calling-- I could've been a headmistress, but been fired the first week for being too strict.

Don't worry, as long as we're not warring, and you're not calling me names angry, lol, we will get there.
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 12:21am On May 09, 2006
Go Ajisafe--it's your birthday wink. Don't call names now! shoo!! is that too hard? ok--you're getting there. lol.
So you know Jesus is coming back? wow! i'm happy for you. lol.

So, what are your artistic strengths? i know you write--for sure, what else?
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 12:04am On May 09, 2006
Ok, Ajisafe, we will never find an end to this matter! gosh arguing makes me hungry!  grin I didn't think i was making any excuse for any caucasians. It's so ironic you think so, cuz in my community i'm accused of being racist! i don't think i am though!
Well, my eyes are wide open. For those whose eyes are closed, God will open it for them in His own sweet time, so don't worry about them. Just focus on making sure you're right, and we're all wrong.
So, tell me what other things you've written. You didn't tell me if you have a flare for the arts or not. I told you i do, i love to write, when i do my homework smiley, and i'm passionate about music, not like i can write that either. Just answer me, are you artistic or not.

People o! no fighting here today o! i'm appointing myself peace maker and conductor for as long as i'm still online!! i'm going to fine y'all if you fight here! i'll write down your names and submit it to Nwoke! lol, not like he'll do anything about it anyway, lol

Actually, i think that dude's name is "Arinze." I'd have loved him to be pope, not like i bother with papalcy (if that's how it's spelt) issues. But, personally, i won't have mind a black pope--a Nigerian for that matter.

You know, i've seen images of black Jesus', and no shaking as far as i'm concerned. The same passionate way you feel about certain things in Islam's how some Christians feel about certain issues. So if there're those who say the color of Jesus' skin doesn't matter to them, i'd believe it, cuz they've gone beyond skin color in their relationship with Him.

I'd make friends with everyone, well not really, but people that have something to offer. If i befriend a person i do so because i believe they have some level of intellect. Might not be as high as you want it to be--remember all fingers are not equal. Plus we need a little spice--too many intelligent people can be quite annoying sometimes, everyone trying to shove their ideas down their throat. So, a variety of friends wouldn't do me harm. Whatever you say, we're still friends.

You know we're friends, and i'm LOVING your new transformation, into who you should be, TayoD is my friend, and you're my friend, i don't want you attacking him again, or anybody else.lol, i would be docking you points if you go after anyone again--is that clear tongue. I know inside you you have a sweet side, i don't know why i believe this, but i do. So, be good from here on.

those things we've said to each other in the past are simply what they are--the past! whether Nwoke removes it or not, it doesn't change anything. We move beyond such things. That's what my relationship with God's about, i moved by His help out of a life that'd have done me no good (i'm not talking religion here, i'm talking behavior) into something beautiful, so that's what we have now. We'd said things neither of us meant, well i didn't mean none of the things i called you-it was all for the heck of it, and we're cool wink

I'd love to read your script. I take it you have an artistic gene in you somewhere. You're a writer? or write for the pleasure of it?

Don't let me remove my belt and come after you o! lol, did i tell you it was the picture i saw? Ajisafe! you just want to blame Da vinci Sha! lol, i watched Jesus of Nazareth at about 8 or so, and since then i was hunted by the beatings till i turned 16. It wasn't the image of the man, or his skin color that caught my attention o! it was the fact that any man would go through that on behalf of any body, that got my attention. I wondered why they were beating "that man," and when i turned 16 i got the answer--because of me.

I'm a Nigerian, from Edo State. yeah! i'll be reading the Quran, with no hidden intentions.
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 10:34pm On May 08, 2006
Logical, of course i know what pathetic means--don't let me come and tackle you there o! tongue. I just checked the meaning of the word to be doubly sure i'm right!!!

You know what, regardless of all our religions, we all do things that don't exemplify our religions--i know on this fact, it's wrong to castigate an entire religion/ race or whatever. The war started off for reasons of security, but i'm sure there are some parts of the war that've veered off from the original purpose, but that doesn't mean Bush is representing the whole of Christianity, he's just representing his country, of which the majority are now speaking out against. That war will end someday, but the violence we currently see in Islam, would that end?
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 10:20pm On May 08, 2006
Hey! dude! you don't have to call it "pathetic" it's called an opinion--develop yours. Then again, i guess your opinion's that mine is pathetic. If you'd only broaden your horizon, you'd know i was talking about America's violent origin. Hmmm did i hit a nerve or something?
Religion / Re: Da Vinci Code: A Lesson To Muslims by dearzi(f): 10:17pm On May 08, 2006
I can't wait for the movie to hit the theatres. I'm too impatient to read the book, and extra impatient to wait for it to hit the "red box." To me, it's just a movie--it won't change anything about my savior in my eyes. Should i feel bad that i'm going to pay close to $10 to watch it?
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 10:12pm On May 08, 2006
Ajisafe my friend,

I think you're becoming quite a gentleman, and i'm really proud of you, you're getting there. There's nothing wrong with having a soft side. Sha! my name's Zaynab. I left Islam to join "the crusaders," because as a little girl, the picture of Jesus got embedded in my head--as a man of many sorrows Isaih 53:3. I never got over that image, and it broke my heart more and more when i thought about it. And i started trying to understand why He went through all He went through, and when i got it that He did it once and for all for me, the only thing to do was just fall in love with Him--which i am, and i have no regrets about.

Since becoming a "crusader"  grin i'm more in love with Jesus than when i first met Him as a man of sorrows. Might not make sense to you, cuz it's a personal experience, but with time, it's become an intimate relationship. I have this comfort that i'm not alone, that i'm loved regardless of who i am, who i've been, what i've done and all. When i need comfort His presence is so real to me, so real. I've put my hand to the plough and i'm not turning back. So, that's my crusading story!

My dear friend, which question did you ask? i hope i've answered it now?

@ Logical
Aha! thanks for the clarification. I actually intend to start studying the Quaran-- no evil intents behind it. And i did hear that, but some things stay with you more than others.
As for America-- she's a proud nation, will go to war because of "national security." Are they peaceful in nature? let me ask you one question, does a thing with a violent origin end up peaceful? the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. My opinion
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 10:01pm On May 08, 2006
Logical,
i don't think muslims agree Jesus is alive o! they think He is dead. whatever anyone thinks, i know He is alive, and i live because He lives!

As for whether it's really a religion issue, what do you think it is? oil? pray do tell what you think it is. I have no opinion here. I heard a speaker who just came from Iraq, gosh, my heart broke--i know people are dieing there, so if you don't think Islam's a global threat, what do you think it is? America?
Politics / Re: Why Is Obasanjo Not Invited To The G8 Summit This Year? by dearzi(f): 9:56pm On May 08, 2006
Honestly, if that man wants to run for third term, cry, i don't know, he has a lot of brush up to do! the man was so disgraceful when i saw him on CNN, when they were doing the Sudan peace talks! he was eating/ hustling to grab banana from a bowl, or whatever that thing was! few minutes later he was licking his mouth! what kind of man is that? no etiquette! i strongly believe we need a clean cabinet--new president, and officials, these shameful ones have to go!

That man just has to go, he has tried! please--he's just hugging that sit like he laid eggs there!

@Me, Myself
Haba! how'd you say that about the Niger-Deltans? militants or not, they're fighting for what they believe in. They've suffered o! i remember a picture i saw of a child from that region, his brain was growing outside his head, and there are cases like that, cuz of the oil spilage and all the attrocities committed against those people, please, don't even talk about them. You may think they have a lot of adrenaline, but if you see half of what they've been through--think again.
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 9:45pm On May 08, 2006
Go TayoD--Go Go, grin, i was just about to say the same thing too!! my Jesus is alive! glory to God! just makes me want to shout! He is alive o! and i know cuz i spoke with Him this morning and He answered me!

There's no man more righteous than me, cuz "all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory, His standards, His righteousness" Rom 3:23, but what gives me a sense of right standing with God, gives me boldness to call Him Father, to stand before Him without the feeling of guilt, shame or an inferiority complex is the righteousness purchased by the risen lamb of God! halleluya (2 Cor 5:21)

Ajisafe, my friend, i go to a church that doesn't have a potrait of a white man, with blonde hair and blue eyes. As far as i'm concerned, Jesus' nationality and skin color should not be an issue, because that's not what qualified Him to be the savior, if that was it--God could have used a regular prophet! but it's the holiness of who Christ is, His divine birth--that's what makes Him Christ. Conceived without sin--that's what makes Him the chosen one. For what He did, no man with sin could have done it. So the issue of my savior's skin color isn't an issue for me, as long as i believe He IS the Son of God, died and rose again, have confessed and accepted that truth--i'm happy. If Jesus likes, when He comes back, let His skin color be white, black or blue, i'm more interested in His shed blood.
Religion / Re: Islamism - The New Global Threat by dearzi(f): 10:58pm On May 07, 2006

"I know we're no more warring," but was that what you were trying to do when you called me a "Christian LovePeddler?" being "hard on the kufars" i mean--interesting!! can you please tell me who a "kufar" is? and i mean it in an educative way, so i know what you're talking about next time--i'd like to know what i'm being called.

There's no disputing Africans are brilliant--none what so ever! i'm proud to be black, i walk with my head held high.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter what color Jesus was, as long as His blood was red, and to my knowledge, was shed for me--it's all good!
