True but the BBC which to my knowledge uses the most updated English grammar always state "an historic event".

I believe English is evolving. The presence of non English, born in the UK speakers (Pakistani, Indian, Chinese and Thai etc) and youth influence in the form of slangs has made some earlier frowned upon practices an everyday occurence.

I seriously doubt it bro.., go check again.., An Historic ? no way...

guests or interviewee maybe, but not BBC staff.., Not even Peter Okwoche.

Maybe some correspondents from Somalia, Uganda etc... But it's still wrong bro

He has lots of sins yet judges as if by himself he is righteous. Why disturbing another man's servants, When you can not even change anything. How many lives have he changed??

Social media opportunists!!!!!

By your comments you are guilty of the same thing you're accusing him of - Judging

You have already judged and condemned him. My brother take it easy we are not God.

So you know; you guys will soon be laid off and have another set of desperate newbies relace you.

Most of you yapping now were also used to replace some unpaid workers about a year ago.

Just like Nigerian captains of industries and foreign investors, Dopkesi has mastered the art on how to take advantage of the ineffective labor laws and officials in Nigeria.

And trust me, as mediocre as AIT might be...its unarguably the best Nigerian TV station for many years and couunting.

Again, Nigerian masses loose!

I agree with you boss on all fronts except the bold part. More like one of the best. After all we have just three TV Stations in in Nigeria - Channels tv, Silverbird TV and AIT.., and then there is the rest... smiley

cnnamoko: from my numerous tours all over 9ja, i have come to realise that these states are the most developed...just my observations, or what do you think?

1. Lagos
2. Anambra
3. Kano
4. Enugu
5. Akwa Ibom
6. Rivers
7. Kaduna
8. Oyo
9. Kastina
10.Delta

Did you say tour..? where did you tour..? cos from your ranking.., you ain't been anywhere yet.

You're just setting a trap to get other peoples views. You should have been plain and just asked people to list their top 10 most developed states in Nigeria. To help whatever poll you're conducting or lame research you're attempting...

Airforce 1, check the topic, it dwells on her interview with Amanpour. Nothing more nothing else. We are judging the interview as she fared or handled it. Besides, I am not aware of this particular woman's crime. Please update me. I am clear about Dziani and some others. I really dont know how to judge people without a personal convinction that they are this or that.

Ability to excel in an interview is one thing, corruption is another. Some are corrupt and daft, some corrupt and intelligent, some honest and daft, some honest and intelligent. Different qualities, commed the good condemn the bad.

e.g. SLS, Corrupt and intelligent grin grin grin

Demdem: I think this advise is best directed at Achebe himself. I wonder what he wants to acheive with such.

Some one had to write the story.., the history of the people. The government has proven incapable of doing it or deliberately kept from doing it for what ever reason.
You can decide what to do with it, but if a people's history is not written, it will be lost forever. And if you do not know where you are coming from, i doubt you'll know where you're going.

Programming / We Need A Nairaland Mobile And Desktop App by Deffwill(m): 9:20pm On Nov 23, 2012
Dear faithful and honest nairalanders, I started this thread to challenge the programers in the house to come up with a mobile and desktop app for nairaland.
Is it that the owners are not ready or they dont want to. what is the reason, as Nairaland has surpased the level it requires to have a mobile and desktop app.
Dear fellow Nairalanders, please your views, comments and suggestions...

thank you for keeping it positive , civil and progressive.

Instead of condemning his racist tendencies you all are here praising his show integrity *SMH*
As long as it is America or Europe people must find something positive to say about them, if it was a Nigerian nobody will care about the show of integrity, rather he'll be condemned for being racist.

The old dude was already due for retirement in 5 months so he had nothing to lose, I bet if he had some good years to serve he would have challenged the allegation as a mere joke that was taken out of context...*Mstchewww* angry angry

Car Talk / Re: INNOSON MOTORS - World's First Black-owned Car Manufacturer by Deffwill(m): 6:21pm On Nov 22, 2012
ROSSIKE: There's no reason why INNOSON should not be a major player in the global auto industry, on a par with the likes of Toyota, Honda, and GM over the next decade or two. Primary focus should be the African market, which is more than ripe for a dynamic new entrant into its auto market, providing well-priced, reliable vehicles. R&grin (research and development) should also be heavily invested in within the firm, with the aim being to further drive down prices without compromising quality, and corner the African market. But the key to all this is to lay a heavy stake in the Nigerian market first, and this was why INNOSON asked the Ghanaian to wait until they'd fully consolidated their Nigeria operations.

I would also suggest, perhaps as a mid-term objective, their release of a flagship luxury saloon vehicle. THAT would turn a lot of heads around the world for sure.

I TOTALLY agree with you my brother...Nigeria alone is more than 15 other African countries put together in terms of market size, Ghana is not up to Lagos alone. The demand in sub-Saharan Africa is in Nigeria right now. Which is why the Chinese, and Europeans are struggling to break in through every sector.
Moreover, Europe and other continents are saturated right now but Africa is relatively a virgin market, thus Innoson should conquer it first starting with local demand then West Africa and the rest of Africa and the world...The sky is the steping stone baby!!! grin grin grin

But first,we need power (electricity) if we are to have and maintain the price edge. Ajaokuta steel company also needs to be fully operational if we are to achieve at least 90% local content...
Car Talk / Re: INNOSON MOTORS - World's First Black-owned Car Manufacturer by Deffwill(m): 12:27pm On Nov 22, 2012
veraponpo: This is good but the caption is misleading. Before Innoson, Nigeria has Peugeot Nigeria Ltd in Kaduna since 1970's and has been asembling cars for Nigerians and govts. But it is a laudable idea. Kudos.

Peugeot was never a Nigerian brand, it was a franchise...the brand was also not Nigerian, but IVM is totally a Nigerian initiatve.
