Dear Gazzuzz, I have a 2013 RAV4 I’ve used for a year with a fuel consumption of 11mpg. It’s quite excessive and I need a way to fix it. Any idea what could be the cause? Engine runs smooth otherwise, though I’ve had to change wheel rotors and I’m still not satisfied with the wheels/suspension generally. Bought Nigerian used. Thanks! |

Hi Gazzuzz. I recently got a 2013 Rav4 and I noticed that it vibrates when I apply brakes while going above 100km/h. At lower speeds its smooth braking. What could be the problem? Also, the fuel gauge doesn't go below quarter tank when empty. Thanks for your help. |

Its utterly simplistic and consists of a pool of words out of which you're to choose which best describe you. The problem is, you have no idea what qualities they're looking for |

Culture / Re: Do We Actually Need English Names by Dozita(m): 12:50pm On Sep 05, 2011 |
ok, heres my take on this issue. I think the OP means to question the dumping of our native names for foreign names but mentioned 'english' names because its maybe the most common. In my opinion, HE IS RIGHT, ABSOLUTELY ON POINT. Now i dont think majority of us today bear these foreign names due to some inferiority complex and i'm certain that we do not bear them out of any deep reverence for our religion. So why do we bear them? The truth is that many are indifferent and others just came to be aware of them as they got older and developed a fondness for them, its silly to begrudge anyone that or to dictate to anyone what names he might bear. But as odumchi pointed out, inferiority complex in colonial times WAS the reason from the start and it DOES undermine our identity. I realised i was a proud Okonkwo and not some Paul or Adam and decided i'd drop mi foreign name when i was maybe 13 and besides, our names are rich and beautiful! |

omega25red:That may be it. The original charger got damaged a long time ago and the first toshiba charger i purchased from those crooks at ikeja stopped working after a week so i decided to go for a second hand. The one i got had been working perfectly fineuntil now but it isnt toshiba, it reads delta electronics. The problem is, i tried my friend's who's got the exact same model and the same thing happened. its a satellite A205-S5804 with the original battery. |

Help! My laptop freezes once i plug the charger in. Everything just hangs including the keyboard and touchpad. Whenever its charging and i plug it in,it tries to come on and freezes before showing anything on the screen. In other words, i cant use my laptop and charge it at the same time so i'm stuck to using it till it discharges and then charging before using it again. Its a toshiba satellite, 2G ram, 120G HDD, windows vista. Abeg any help would be seriously appreciated. |

Culture / Re: Pidgin To Become A Formal Language by Dozita(m): 12:37am On Sep 24, 2010 |
Pidgin to become a formal language- long overdue. Pidgin to become national language- not good. Its a good idea to study the language, standardize it, and build a body of knowledge on its history, structure and dialects. Quite likely there's been more work done on dog linguistics than on nigerian pidgin which is spoken by millions. However, adopting it as a national language or teaching it in schools is just ridiculous in my opinion. Reading pidgin (even the stuff written on this thread) is hard labour and it has a very limited vocabulary completely bereft of technical words. I think it should be 'formalized' and left to remain what it is- an auxillary language we communicate in when standard english proves difficult or uncomfortable for us. |

Nairaland / General / Re: Should Nigerians Be Allowed To Have A License To Own Guns/firearms by Dozita(m): 1:27pm On Jul 02, 2010 |
look at it dis way.we live in a country where the police and even vigilante groups proudly display the corpses of 'armed robbers' shot dead.even police recruits on patrol are armed with mean-looking rifles instead of service pistols.mobs lynch suspected criminals on a regular basis.if everyone owned guns oga john would simply accuse his percieved foe, mallam hassan of a crime & shout ole and the angry guntotting mob would do the rest.we need to see guns less often not more. |

what a joke.we celebrate crooks!i think a compilation of all the people who've ever been given these awards with the exception of a handful of names would make a fair rollcall of nigeria's greatest criminals. |

nigeria's probably d only country where d majority can be not just wrong but downright stoopid.stuff dat shud be treated by d wayside is brought to d frontburner.d illiterate national assemby was actually considering a bill to dictate dresscodes, and we aint a muslim nation.did she force anyone to look?morality shoud be clearly distinct from legality to any sane person.unfortunately, many it seems many nigerians are otherwise and theres only one cause, illiteracy.or better still,low-quality education. |
