The acquisition of private jets by Christian leaders diminishes the moral voice of the church in the fight against corruption, the Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev Matthew Kukah, declared yesterday.

He spoke against the backdrop of the presentation of a private jet to the National President of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor, by members of his church during the celebration of his 40th anniversary in the ministry penultimate Saturday.

Kukah, who was guest speaker at the annual Founder’s Day Anniversary lecture of Providence Baptist Church in Lagos, described exhibition of such opulence by church leaders as embarrassing.

The fiery cleric who spoke on ‘Church and the state in the pursuit of the common good’, said: “The stories of corrupt men and women being given recognition by their churches or mosques as gallant sons and daughters and the embarrassing stories of pastors displaying conspicuous wealth as we hear from the purchases of private jets and so on clearly diminish our moral voice.”

Kukah, who was represented by the Administrator of Holy Cross Cathedral Lagos, Rev. Monsignor Pascal Nwaezeapu, also expressed displeasure with the perceived closeness of the CAN leadership to the corridors of powers.

He said such alliance will weaken the ability of the church to speak the truth to elected public office holders.

According to him: “CAN has become more visible in relation to national prayer sessions, pilgrimages, alliances with state power and so on.

“Unless we distance ourselves, we cannot speak the truth to power. We cannot hear the wails of the poor and the weak. We should not be seen as playing the praying wing of the party in power.”

He challenged the church to speak against corruption in low and high places, saying such responsibility must never be jettisoned for any reason.

Apart from Orisejafor, other church leaders who own private jets include Founder of Living Faith Ministries, Bishop David Oyedepo; General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye; Founder of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), Bishop Mike Okonkwo and Pastor Chris Oyakhilome of Christ Embassy Church.

Looking back to when I was a kid I use to have the fear of death, I pray constantly to avert it I even fast over it but as time goes on I have come to realize that no man on earth knows the appointed time when he or she will die so with this belief I accept my fate as human that we are all living for the day will die. I have stop being afraid of death and I am ready for it any time it comes, At this point many will be asking themselves questions like as young as he is he said he is ready to die who will now take care of his kids my answer to them who takes care of even you is it not God. As for my girlfriends they will find another man as for my wife she will find another husband (That’s if I am married) As for my friends yes they will miss me but give them 1 month I will fade away from their memory . The only people I will stick to their memory forever are my family and my Kids as for my future wife she will only remember me if she looks my kids and two things will come to her mind your father was a great man in his own time or your father was the most dumbest man I have ever seen in life.

After reading all this many will now ask themselves what is he now afraid of or who is he now afraid of my answer to them will be “Heaven” Yes I said it, I am afraid of dying and ending up in Heaven I don’t want to go to heaven I want to die and come back reincarnated to this same Nigeria or better still let me use the word earth.
I have come to realize that all religion their destination is heaven, they all pray for it and can’t wait to be there. A Christian does not spent 12 month with in the belly just because to a Muslim he is an infidel neither does a Muslim spent 14 month in their mother’s womb because to a Christian they have the heart of stone.

Good day my fellow facebookers for those of you who will see my post as offensive please bear with me, Tomi is the first son and the only male child of his family with 2 other little siblings looking up to him , his parents are uneducated. they struggled to put Tomi through school to become a graduate, despite all our economic odds. only to be killed by the Nigeria's Government insensitivity towards security reports, A government that provides nothing but take the lives of our love one all in the name of Religious violence and ethnic violence which can be curtail if our security operatives are adequately funded. As of this morning with out exaggeration we have lost more than 12 corpers here in bauchi i don't know of other northern state. All this is in their bid to get into power our loves ones has been sacrificed when all their children are abroad schooling. they proclaim a peaceful election when we are in tears here in the north for our brothers and sisters that have been killed in a violence that can be avoided if only security report were taken seriously. From the bombings going ever since before the election and the one that took place the night before election it is enough to put all security agency on alert but i guess that is not a problem to them after all they have been declared the winner so all security personnels can go back to their various position. On the other hand the losers did not behave themselves as through statesmen, the three of the big losers are from the north so no body should peg it on buhari alone they ought to come out and give a statement to their illiterate youth they keep deceiving all in the name of religion and zoning.
