Health / Re: Do You Know Anyone That Have Inner Ear Vestibular Disorder? by eridos: 7:12pm On Oct 20
Wow,When I had this it was very scary ,at a point I felt it was an heart issue ,I
Went for an ecg, went for a ct scan I was fine ,i just discovered I was having slight ringing then I felt like my world was spinning,I was able to pin it down to loud music while in the gym ,the headset I used wasn’t an original version and I always blasted on the highest volume for
3 hours to 4 hours while I work out at the gym ,one day I was on the thread mill and there was a big building in front of the gym I tried looking up and that was it ,I was dizzy and had to stop running if not I was going to fall,I taught it was hunger pangs I went to eat ,still didn’t feel better it was so bad I cudnt drive myself to
The hospital the first time I went to complain to a gp,but they ddnt have a clue even after I complained and did all the test.

I then decided to visit an ent and that’s when I heard what’s it’s called for the first time BPPV ( Benign Parosyxmal positional vertigo ) there is a also menerhis disease which has almost similar symptoms with Bppv as well but menerhis comes with hearing loss ,eventually I did some ear test, tynphanometry and another one I can’t remember the name and I had no hearing loss,my hearing was fine ,so menhiers was ruled out.

I did the epleys maneover in the hospital under the guidance of the ENT and I felt better ,she prescribed stugeron, betahistine hydrochloride and nicotinic acid for two weeks and I felt a whole lot better ,I also did the vestibular exercises which needed me to adjust my body to refocus,I was told the vestibular exercises would help me reposition the calcium crystals in the ear and get it back to its position .

I also spoke to my doctor gp friend and when I told him he mentioned too much screen time too also is a risk factor and makes it worse ,so he advised I reduced my screen time ,reduce my phones light especially when in a dark area ,also my sleeping position I was asked to sleep by my side and never on my neck ,avoid alcohol and caffeine and eat healthy foods .

I have done this for 1 and half months now and I have not taken those drugs again ,I still feel like that some times but once I do the vestibular exercise prescribed I feel a lot better and can carry out my days activity without any worry or fear .My doctor friend told me eventually my body readjust and I’ll be fine .

Of course no loud music, avoid clubs, lounges with loud music as those are the triggers once you have already have it and am sure you would be fine,so good to share this ,something as basic as this could cost people their lives if not properly managed, also to mention that before I saw the ent and the vertigo was very much I had to use a tablet of low does aspirin and when I told the ent about it she mentioned that Bppv also comes with accumulation of fluid in the ear and the low dose aspirin helped reduced this accumulation hence the relief I felt.

Lastly I forgot to mention I had to go traditional too which I won’t advise ,but I was desperate for a solution ,I used the water from a specie of snail I pressed it down in its shell and squeezed few drops into my ear ,this was prescribed by someone with similar issue ,not sure the science behind this but I know snail
Water is very medicinal so why not ,I had nothing to loose I just wanted to feel better and be able to carry out my day to day activity ,I used it for 5 days and stopped though .I can’t say if it worked ,it was very pricey one snail specie was sold for 5k I bought 4 at 20k ,I think I used only one or two .

I also chewed garlic when I felt this way 2 bulbs of garlic and it sends fire to my system,I must say garlic is very medicinal ,it really helped with that feeling of dizziness anytime I used it. It was just the smell that couldn’t make me use everytime.

I hope all this life hack helps someone feeling like this way and I wish you quick recovery.

Hello Bro.it happened to me too and i kept going back there for over a month.the fault is not from you its from their stupid machine,if you check very well there are other people who have had the same issues with you and they keep telling them to come back.

I had to go report my case to one of their superior officer that is when they said i should come when the Engineer is around to come and override it with his password Mind you there is only one Engineer in the whole of Lagos. And he comes to their ikoyi office on Monday and fridays .so thats the only two days you can get it done.find out from them when the Engineer would be around, the thing is that they like compiling it so that they can the give the Engineer in batches.

psalm121vs1:
U can still get ur points across without being aggressive. ..lemme give another fact
1.U have to work for at least five years before u become a supretendant pharmacist that is u cant register a shop even with ur licence except u ve worked for five years..which is why what eridos posted is not logical except he was lucky
2.bsc with professional certificate like ican is automatic grade 10
3.dont expect to be paid the same thing u earned during internship
and in summary dont think u better than anyone cos this is really the reason why there re so many unemployed graduates..I mean u just said I dared compare English with pharmacy but what u should know is this in terms of academics a prof is a prof. .no one really cares about ur area of expertise and in the corporate world anybody can be anybody..
u might have a dream of working for orange drugs..just remember he dint finish high school

Oga it's either u are oblivious of what happening in Pharmacy or you are just a bad belle.that law you are talking about didnt hold waters.they were contemplatyn on that law 2 years ago i.e the one that says if u have not been in practice for up to 5 years u can be a superintendent Pharmacist in a retail Pharmacy.while if u have not been in practice for up to 10 years u can't be a superintendent Pharmacist in an wholesale outlet so please stop saying what you don't know.
And since then that proposed law has been dead and buried. Not to surface ever again.we young Pharmacist fought for it.
Oga im a superintendent pharmacist in one of the big retail chain Pharmacies in Nigeria and they paid me for my license and I've not practiced for up to 5 years.
Please don't confuse people,Pharmay is gold now in Naija.u cud bcum a boss of ur own with little or no effort in these country where so many graduates are complaining. Of joblessness a Pharmacy intern like me bought my first car.if that's not lucrative what is dat the salary I earned peeps from oda courses dat ve worked for 10years in some companies wud not dream of earning dat even with their 10 years.so give me a break and let the people dat have a passion for the course read the course and stop being a badbelle.am sure u cudnt make it through Pharmacy school.stop hatyn

IZANAMI:
So many unemployed pharmacist??Sir,I haven't seen any jobless pharmacist, you can never be unemployed as a pharmacist, you can only be underemployed that which is quite rare. All the denigratory points you cited have no claims to validate it sir,you obliviously and ignorantly enumerated the cons without making mention of the pros.
You even went to the extent of juxtaposing a pharmacy grad with an English graduate? Oga how far,who does that?
Of course the entry level for a pharmacy grad after nysc is CONHESS level 10 of I'm not mistakened,A b.sc nurse grad is on CONHESS level 8 not to even mention the auxiliary nurses.
At the internship level, you're placed on a salary scale of CONHESS level 9 obviously higher than a B.sc nurse grad which is quite unfair.
I suppose you're not new to the fact pharmacists are the next paid after doctors in terms of salary scale.
some of your points are quite drab, insipid, unintelligent, myopic and shallow sir!!No offence intended sir!

Well said I'm sure this person wasn't lucky to read Pharmacy.maybe screened out of the department.reason for the beef.in dese country today so many oil and gas guys wana divulge into the Pharmacy business today. Last year the former MD of Bank PHB spoke to me one and one about the opportunities of chain pharmacies in Nigeria.which he would like to key into.i gave him the necessary information he needed not without collectyn my consultation fee though.today he has started his own Pharmacy employing Pharmacist to use their license and paying them handsomely. The Pharmacy is in VI in lagos.and he is looking to expand.currently as we speak there are plans for the big Retail chain Pharmacies abroad to cum into the Nigerian market (boots, wallgreens).a lot of potentials are yet to be untapped in the Pharmaceutical industry.the future is very bright for a young Pharmacist in Nigeria today.of course u have to be streetwise, know ur onions, network, bargain very well and most of all develop urself.ull be amazed at how well ull do over tyme.a lot of opportunities exist for Pharmacies in the country and beyond.new Mulltinational Pharmaceutical companies are cuming into the country each year.they employ Pharmacist and pay them the way they pay their Medical representatives in other countries.when u work under someone and u make enough money u can decide to start ur own.the key is getting a good location I'm talking of retail Pharmacies here.if u check the trend now most people don't wana go to the hospital and pay huge bills while they can just get into the Pharmacy and speak wt a Pharmacist and get quality drugs wt less hazzle.not all Pharmacist are rich, some are average, but none is poor at least they earn more dan the minimum wage.but most Pharmacist fall between the middle class and high class.we are better off than most doctors cos we don't depend on Federal Government jobs like most of them.we are far better off on our own in our private business.
And a Pharmacist and Pharmacologist are different.a Pharmacist is a drug expert who knows everytyn about drug production, drug interaction, sourcing of drug materials,Pharmacy regulation.he has a license to import and export drugs, distribute, counsel and administer drugs to patients based on his vast knowledge of drugs.

A Pharmacologist on the other hand. Just learnt about one aspect of Pharmacy which is the study of drug usage, interaction, adverse effect notyn else.he doesn't know hw the drug is produced nor how the raw materials are sourced cos his scope his limited to wat the drug does and just information about the drug on the body.in Nigeria It's only 2 schools that offer Pharmacology as a B.sc course which is Unilag and Delsu.

Pharm techs on the other hand just handle dispensing and countyn of drugs. A Pharm technologist is not a B.sc Holder it's just a 3 year programme and u bag a technical certificate.there is one at Yaba school of health technology a department of Pharm technology.so don't get it all mixed up they are different from each other.

Pharmacy my dear Pharmacy!!!
Every parent wants his child to read pharmacy nowadays cos it's lucrative, the day of our induction igbo Men came in to look for female pharmacist to get married to so they can use their license to import and export drugs.it wasn't a bed of roses though,i remember the tension of pre-qualifiying exams and professionals, the cramming of structures, the reading of vague things which were incoherent cos we couldn't see most of them.
Thank God dose days are all over.i started working before I was inducted into the Pharmacist council of Nigeria. Without a certificate and a license, and I was earning more than most bankers.i went ahead to do my internship at Federal Neuropsychiatric hospital lagos, was also working in a community Pharmacy in the evening.anyone who knows Federal Neuropsychiatric hospital Lagos knows it's the Highest Paying for Pharmacy interns throughout the country.as an intern Pharmacist( A Pupil Pharmacist) I was earning more dan 200k in a month from my 2 jobs.after my one year internship I proceeded to do my Nysc. I was posted to Lagos "don't ask me how I got lagos"!!i served in an health centre in eti osa locaal government in the morning and in the evening I go to my community Pharmacy I was close to 200k with all my allowances from FG which is the 19,800 local government which pays 30k and my dear community Pharmacy that paid me the largest chunk of my salary I won't tell u how much I earned from my Pharmacy but all my allowance for the month was close to 200k. I bought my first car during my internship and also rented an apartment on my own with my money.with no assistance from my parents. Now am done with service I got another Job in one of the Chain Pharmacies in Nigeria.ever since I graduated I've been smiling to the bank. Alert has not stopped entering my account.
My license was paid for and put in use by my company apart from my monthly salary.
And the opportunities are enormous u can grow, have ur Pharmacy, decide to import drugs, go into politics.being a Pharmacist makes u street wise.cos uve been tutored informally under so many aspects
Business administration, marketyn. In Abroad Pharmacist are one of the highest Paid professionals u cud switch over and go practice there. Just a few exams to convert you and enable u practice dere

I gave this little epistle for young ones who are confused of a career choice.Pharmacy is one u won't regret. It's a stepping stone to greater achievements.so if u feel u have what it takes give it a shot and follow ur dream.i feel fulfilled adding value to the life's of my patients and for them cuming back to thank me that the drug I gave them worked.makes me feel I ddnt make a mistake reading Pharmacy.

Mind you the profession still has some short comings as no profession is 100 percent without hazzles.but the future is bright for young Pharmacist.
I Rep Pharmacy class of 2012.Madonna University Elele Rivers state#

Health / Re: Ulcer Is Killing Me,how Do I Survive With It In School by eridos: 12:54pm On Jan 26, 2016
Hey op.just seeing ur post..well ulcer can be cured.its pertinent we understand what ulcer is before we talk about its treatment.ulcer has defined is the ulceration of the lining of th villi of the mucosa wall covering the stomach.in other words there is a mucosa membrane that coats the stomach, ulcer simply means an injury to that mucosa membrane which causes pain when swallowing food, bloody stool and pains in the stomach.Treatment of ulcer involves both the use of orthodox medicine and Non Pharmacological approach..Non Pharmacological approach in the sense that more needs to be done in terms of lifestyle modifications and what you take into your system (drugs and food consumed).the current WHO approved treatment for ulcer is a triple therapy regimen which involves a combination of a proton pump inhibitor and 2 antibiotics..(antiprotozoals such as secnidazole, tinidazole are also seen as constituents in some. Triple therapy combinations)..the common ones available for sale in Nigeria include ulsakit, pyrox combi, omefast plus.and they have been proven to be highly efficacious in treatment of ulcer.the dose is for 7 days.the 3 different types of tablets are taken twice daily for 7 days..
In as much as you have taken this triple therapy regimen one has to be careful about what he eats and the kind of drugs he takes.for ulcer patients you are asked to avoid coffee this is a very strong trigger of ulcer, avoid fried foods, oily foods. Eat in the mornings even if you are not hungry, alcohol should also be avoided.
Ulcer patients or patients who have had ulcer in the past are advised not to take NSAIDS ( Non steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) such drugs include diclofenac, ibuprofen, aspirin, also panadol extra for a prolonged period is not so good because of the caffeine content.NSAIDS are triggers of ulcer and could worsen ulcer condition in patients.speak with the Pharmacist before taking any medication and tell them about your past or present ulcer status to guide them when they are prescribing drugs to you...if u can abide with this Non Pharmacological Management and re- use your ulcer medications again i.e any of the triple therapy regimen drugs (ulsakit.,pyrox combi, omefast plus) your ulcer status would be a forgotten issue in no sooner time.i hope this helps!!thank me later when you are healed completely of your ulcer.best Regards Pharm Ehimen

Perfectly said op..am Happy most people's eyes have been open to see the light.Fake prophets everywhere. Psychologically gulping money from their congregation.i went with a friend to a church one day in bariga area of Lagos.i won't mention the name of the church ,on getting there the Pastor was an igbo Man.and to my greatest suprise during the sermon he just paused and said the lord told me to tell you all to sow a seed before the year runs out.sow a seed for the ongoing church project. The lord has asked 10 people to cum out and volunteer to donate 100 thousand naira each to make up 1 million naira.i was shocked, annoyed and speechless.after about ten minutes of repeatyn the same thing 1 person came out, the pastor continued repeatyn the same tyn and My friend who doesn't even earn up to 50k and doesn't even have any money in his bank account came forward and agreed to donate 100k just for church project. That was when I knew that sum Men of God manipulate people.if most of you know bariga area of lagos well, ull know that most people that stay there are the low and middle income earners 100k per person for 10 people was not something easy for them to come up with.in the end sha. People sluggishly came out and agreed to donate the money.i was patient enough to wait till the end of the service.then my stupid friend came forward to meet me that why ddnt I cum forward and contribute to God's church that shey I'm earning well at my place of work.i ddnt even mind that it was sunday I told him he was Mad for telling me that, and he was also Mad and hypnotized for consentyn to donate that kind of money when he knew it wud wreck his finance.he smiled and told me that pastor won't be happy with him if he ddnt go out.i just shaked my head for him and asked him if he was ready to go stepped into my car and headed home.on our way home the idiot told me to lend him 50k so he wud look for the oda 50k sumwhere else to pay up cos he has to pay before the next sunday service.i just parked my car immediately an told him to get out..the guy was so shocked and amazed at why I did that.am sure u must be wondering why I did that? My reason is simple if a matured man could be so gullible to fall Mugu for that kind of psychological Manipulation from his fellow Man,his days are numbered on planet earth.i never spoke to that My friend again till date I was so furious and filled with rage.bloody hypocrites!!!let's say no to fake prophets#
