If ASUU is not playing politics with us then they are simply being emotional. If Govt. had given 130billion of the 3Trilion, Grounds shud be shifted. At least dis Govt should be given a benefit of doubt. If they still want to make us believe that we are not loosing out, I suggest a Hunger strike or atleast they should reject their salaries. |
Politics / Re: Will You Rate President Jonathan's Media Chat Poor Or Impressive? by hanzofresh: 12:50pm On Sep 30, 2013 |
zenopee: I wonder whether I share similar ideas with other people, but I believe that the presidential media chat was a complete sham, and a complete waste of time. I expected more, but Jonathan dissapointed me. If I would rate it, I would rate it poor. All along, it seems the president doesn't have a clear grasp of happenings, developments and events within the country. And regarding the few issues raised during the chat, he sounded like the issues were quite trivial, and this are burning national issues that expedite actions. To me overall, the media chat was a complete waste of time and resources, it shouldn't have held. And from all indications it wouldn't change anything. |

The real reason why Jonathan is fighting Amaechi is getting clearer to me by the day. SOKU OIL WELLS It's on record that Nestoil has a multi billion oil contract from shell around SOKU. It's also on record that Jonathan has substantial interest in Nestoil. Retardeen is simply fighting for his pocket just like any other militant would . He wants his properties close to him. I salute Amaechi for standing against the " balkanisation" of his peoples collective wealth for another. learn to have respect for your leaders. Dont show us how uncultured ur background is. People dat talk dis way make the worst of leaders. Get a Life |

she-blayze: Good points raised. However, the average Pharmacist working in a Nigerian hospital has limited functions. That is why patients doubt our abilities but have more faith in doctors. I saw this during my industrial training. How can a (central) hospital have all its pharmacists in one big room? How can pharmacist-patient confidentiality be developed when there is no privacy? How can you patiently and effectively counsel a patient when you are standing and there are atleast more than 50 patients waiting for your services? Painfully, the average Nigerian cannot differentiate between the pharmacist and the ('chemist') patent medicine dealer. Most countries have long done away with Bpharm programme but this is 2013 and Nigerians and sadly to say pharmacists (including students) are just becoming aware of the PharmD programme. Bpharm has more to do with manufacturing while PharmD is more patient-oriented. The theme for this year's world pharmacy day is to make medicine use easier no matter how complex. How can it be achieved in Nigeria when the pharmacist is under duress, when Pharmaceutical care is yet to be implemented in most health institutions? This year, in PANS national conference held in Unilag, it became obvious that members of the profession lack unity which is essential if we are to progress. We blame government for all our lapses. But we are to blame. Where were we when other health professionals were taking up positions in government or even sponsoring politicians who can represent them? Thankfully, we've left the 6 by 6 window system lol.
We still have a lot to do before we can happily and/or proudly celebrate World Pharmacy day. Hopefully, we'll get there someday.

Mr President is right and did not exclude Himself. Nigeria Has a long way to go. Its not all about strengtening the institutions thar fight corruption, the basic amenities/ infrastructure should be provided. For instance, a child is enrolled in a Public primary school with dearth/unqualified teachers, poor facilities and after 6yrs is promoted to Jss1 in another Public setting with epileptic teachers/teaching aids. Now its time for WAEC, the result reflects the educational background. Do you expect the person to commit suicide? No. He/she must pass the next exam @ all cost with all corrupt means attached. The same goes in other sectors. Once govt provides the basic amenities for its teaming population, corruption will be reduced. |
