Car Talk / Re: Army Bans Trucks On Lagos Bridges by intrepid: 6:56pm On Mar 07, 2018
Another shameful and misguided nonsense.

1. Why are the trucks on the overpasses in the first place!?

2. If you remove them from the overpasses, where would they go? Of course, they will clog up other level routes

3. Why should Lagos port be the only operational, and the Wharf, about the only operating one by some deliberate design, thereby over blowing the population of Lagos, both human and vehicular?

4. If these key reasons are not tackled, it's useless asking the trucks to leave the bridges because the masses will suffer more.... We suffer still.

SMDH @The replies coming from so called "educated Nigerian youths" about what happened to another young guy out there.

Its very obvious that many Nigerians dont know that depression is real and also that not everyone can withstand difficult moments without bending.

Many people calling him a weak man did not read where it was said that he was always talking to himself, which signaled the beginning of personality problems that needed a psychiatrist or a psychologist to handle.

People do not also realize that many Nigerians have this same problem and that many attempted suicide abound, and they are the same folks to type RIP on such patients photos when they surface here.

The guy was not weak. Whatever problems he had(you read he moved from Turkey to seek asylum in Germany),must have had a deep impact on his mental health which disintegrated to the point of DEPRESSION ,which worst side effect is suicide.

Some people typing here have mental health issues but dont even know.

DEPRESSION is real. Mental problem is real and is just like the regualr illness we suffer from.

Know this today.

dipoolowoo:
By Dipo Olowookere

Since leader of the Oodua Peoples’ Congress (OPC), Mr Gani Adams, was announced by the Alaafin of Oyo as the new Generalissimo of Yoruba, the Aare Ona Kakanfo, his Lagos home has been thronged by guests, who come to pledge their support for him.

The brave Yoruba ‘warrior’ has received several visitors and groups and one of such groups comprises the Igbos in Lagos, who visited him on Monday, November 20, 2017.

Business Post reports that the Eze Ndigbos in Lagos, during their visit, declared their support for the choice of Mr Adams as the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yoruba land just as they declared that they were happy that the “title came to our own person.”

According to a statement released by the media team of Mr Adams, the leaders of Igbos in the local governments in the state, who paid the Aare designate a congratulatory visit in his Lagos home, promised to work with him politically and culturally.

Among the visiting Ezes were the Eze Ndigbo of Ikeja, Mr Uche Dimgba; the Eze Ndigbo of Gbogbo, Mr Livinus Chimezie; Eze of Coker/Aguda, Mr Jude Ezego; Eze of Ojodu, Mr Augustine Ebisi; Eze Peter Umeh of Mushin, Odiolowo, Iganmu land, Ejigbo, Agbado Oke odo and the Eze of Iba among others.

Speaking on behalf of the Ezes, the Eze of Ojodu, Mr Ibisi, said the Igbos were in solidarity with the Aare designate, stressing that they will work with him politically and culturally.

The Ezes, who brought drinks, kolanuts and alligator pepper with them, which they used for an extensive prayer at the meeting, said the onus rests on the Aare to give them the direction that pleases him for them to follow.

Pledging that the Igbos would always work with the Aare, the Eze of Ojodu said “we will continue to be with you, we only pray that God will continue to give us life to continue to be part of you.

“We are delighted about your belief in culture and tradition. Our culture is who we are. But people now mix it with religion. Culture is older than religion. We are what we are already before religion.

“The time is gone when the impression people have about the Aare is to fight war. The Kakanfo of today is for progress not war and we are here to declare to you that we are partners in progress.”

Thanking the Ezes for their visit which he described as historic, the Aare Ona Kakanfo said he was not surprised because the Igbo community had always associated with him and his group.

The Aare Ona kakanfo said the title was the most prestigious in Yoruba land, adding that the title was not without history.

According to him, he is mandated as the Yoruba Generalissimo to defend the interest of the Yoruba and ensure unity of the race.

He added that, like the Igbos, the Yorubas crave their identity, even as he pledged that he would love to maintain the cordial relationship that had existed between him and the Easterners, submitting that Igbos never constituted any threat to Yoruba land.

ourchoice:
thank you so so much. When I read comments like this, it inspires me to do everything within my little strength to make this happen. Please I need all of your support and ideas. This is our collective idea and effort. Me alone cannot do anything beyond this thread and it will die down within few weeks but with the solemn support of people like you, we will make this happen and in no distant time, we will look back and say, yes we are among the youths that shaped Nigeria to our dream nation.

Once again welcome onboard.

Please let us all follow our Twitter handle @NYRP3 to give us a social media influence and so our followers too can be seeing our tweets and follow back to gain more influence and awareness.

We must not allow it to fizzle out. Let this move to Facebook where it can become more interactive and also shareable.

It'd be seen by more eyes and also for those scared of any error, be assured that there'd be mistakes but we pray it'd not be major, as to hamper the progress or, inspire any discouragement in anyone.

I urge that we move to Facebook and also create a hashtag. Let's post and tweet.

Anyone who brings up irrelevant, tribalistic or caustic behavior is taken out. The posts should be focused on the goals of this movement and a bold delineation of our problems bedeviling this country.

It should focus on bringing back the mojo of the youths, because I can bet you that many youths are simply hopeless. They no longer believe that anything good could come out of this country. They would take a long time to trust even this group or the movement and that's why any form of suspicious posts, persons or words must never be condoned.

My full support 1000% is for this movement

This is an awesome idea and you have my full support. I'm all out for this. In fact I have an idea of how we can all start by taking charge of our local governments and turning them to beautiful and exuberant cradles where locals would always feel very proud of and yearn always to go back to even when they travel to any city, including outside the country.

We can do this. But we need the political power to make policies.

What's the Facebook page or group please and also the Whatsapp or telegram channel?

What structures do they have on ground to ensure that Nigerians don't go outside for these creative programs? There's no government incentives, there's no supports in anyway. No power for simple production and you want everything to be here.?

I have been nursing this desire for long and have been seeing many simple things that that cause a lot of problems in my state ,which can easily be corrected by the executive power of the governor.

Almost all the governors in Nigeria are guilty of same but i am mostly concerned about my own state and wish he could begin and be a light and encouragement to others.

My problem is how to see him and talk to him, give him my perspectives and also suggest in clear and practical terms how my state could be uplifted in simple but amazing ways within a very short time.

Or,should i simply write and outline my points for him?But would he be able to read? Also how would i be certain that the letter would ever get to him?

How best and how easily can one see a state governor? Any ideas.

Religion / Christmas And Easter Are Evil by intrepid: 1:39am On Apr 24, 2017
I started reading and developed huge interest in books when I was in primary school. I would climb some branched trees where I could relax near nature and away from home to fill my mind with whatever ideas the author was passing across. The calmness, the unique sounds of the wind forcing its way through the leaves and the sounds and behaviors of the births were all amazing. Sometimes too, as one was suspended on there, you could see some sights of human activities that you wouldn’t tell anyone.

And so, from that early age I read a lot about the issues of Christmas, Easter, New Year, and many other celebrations. I also read some people claiming that celebration of human birthday was wrong and all these disturbed my young mind. I wanted to know the truth, so I kept searching.

I believe that I found it as I realized that many sons of men actually could interprete the bible anyway they liked as long as it suited their purposes. They could claim to be prophets, seers, apostle or whatever and no matter how obviously wrong or even cruel and Un-Christlike, they MUST still have followers. The Branch Davidans (David Koresh) , Jim Jones(Jonestown mass suicide),Rev.King , etc are a good illustration.
You remember them?

If you do not know about them, you can check Google. It’s an interesting read about how the human mind could be manipulated. Back at home here, some African pastors (you know or read about some of them) are in a horrible category of their own. Some can compete with the demons in taking evil to never known dimensions. But are these really pastors (Shepherds)?

No.

Now, back to why you should not celebrate Christmas and Easter if you are a ‘True Christian”. They say that both have pagan roots hence are wrong. Is this assertion correct?

September 11 is a day the world would never forget. Thousands of people died at the WTC after one of the deadliest terrorist attacks in the USA. But it’s also true that some people were born on same day, some got married same day, others achieved certain life changing feats same day and many other happy events happened in peoples’ lives same September 11 2001. And they celebrate their events on September 11 each year but, they are not celebrating the WTC incident.

Did you also know that all the days of the week were named after some Roman gods?

Yes,from Monday to Sunday are all named after some pagan gods. The name Monday comes from the Anglo-Saxon monandaeg, "the moon's day". This second day was sacred to the goddess of the moon. Tuesday was named after the Norse god Tyr. The Romans named this day after their war-god Mars: dies Martis.

The name Sunday comes from the Latin dies solis, meaning "sun's day": the name of a pagan Roman holiday. It is also called Dominica (Latin), the Day of God. The Romance languages, languages derived from the ancient Latin language (such as French, Spanish, and Italian), retain the root.
Now, the common sense question is, do you think or link any activities you engage in on any of these days to any pagan god?

No.

Do you honor these gods because you “pronounce” their days , go to work, school, and even church activities on the days of the pagan gods?
Again,NO.

I saw a lot of pictures and articles circulating on whatsapp and facebook during the Christmas and Easter by some people who still hold this view that Christmas and Easter have pagan origins and should not be celebrated by Christians. But just like I said above, does anyone even think of their origins during these times? Jesus, whose birth and death we celebrate on these days is greater than any god (gods don’t even exist. Or do they?).

Jesus is the creator of the days and the times. He is eternal and does not dwell in time. JESUS(God) lives in eternity, but we humans live in time. I wish you could check the difference.

If you actually believe that Jesus is the owner and maker of the universe and everything in it, why shouldn’t He take over the days and the times instead of ascribing them to certain Roman gods which you believe do not exist? You claim Christmas is a celebration of the Sun god.
Who do you believe in-The Roman sun god or Lord Jesus the “Sun of Righteousness…” Mal.4:2 . In Psalm 84:11, you are told that “The Lord God is a Sun and a shield….”. So, I want to ask if you still believe that the dead roman god is more important than the creator who owns all the days.

I think, what is really wrong is for any Christian to bring to their minds or, connects any day to any pagan god because in the first place you should not recognize what you know to be fake. Wouldn’t that be the actual sin?
Just trying to reason, though.

Meanwhile, I couldn’t actually determine if the ancient clock on the bell tower in my church still functioned or not. Please take a look at that picture and see if that clock still works. (Wink)

We are still in the spirit of Easter (The Resurrection).
Do have a nice week.

Politics / Unidentified Helicopter Drops "Supplies" For Herdsmen In Abraka by intrepid: 7:25pm On Mar 13, 2017
By Perez Brisibe

ABRAKA — THE lawmaker representing Ethiope East in Delta State House of Assembly, Evance Ivwurie, has raised alarm over fears that an unidentified helicopter was always landing inside the Ovre-Abraka desert of the state where thousands of herdsmen and their cattle reside.

Ivwurie, who launched his Operation Arrest, Meet and Engage Their Sponsor, campaign against herdsmen in his constituency last year, described the desert land across the River Ethiope known as Ovre-Abraka as a time-bomb waiting to explode owing to the activities of herdsmen in the area.

Making the disclosure during a security meeting with stakeholders of the area at Abraka, the lawmaker said information at his disposal indicates that the desert had become a safe haven for herdsmen numbering over 2, 000.

He said: “If you go there, there are more than 5,000 cattle with more than 2,000 herdsmen dwelling in the place.

“They carry all kind of weapons and many unwholesome activities are going on there. I am aware of this and have taken the liberty to report the issue to the state government.

“In that place, a helicopter is always landing from time to time and we do not know what is going on there. The government needs to look into the issue critically because we fear that one of these days, the herdsmen may decide to cross the river and invade the community.”

As usual,he will go on to attack Mbe for reporting this instead of Mbe's message.

He can't say he hasn't seen the this or listened to BBC Hausa service.---

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

THE #APO6 AND THE TRAGEDY THAT IS NIGERIA.

Nothing captures the criminal entity that Nigeria has since become better than the case of the 6 Igbo traders killed in Apo, a satellite town in Abuja on June 2005. If you want to have an indept understanding of the mindset of the organised crime family we call the Nigeria Police Force, just pay close attention to the case of the APO6.

According to the proceedings at the criminal trial, the Apo6 --Ekene Isaac Mgbe, Ifeanyin Ozor, Chinedu Meniru, Paulinus Ogbonna, Anthony and Augustina Arebu-- were at a nightclub somewhere in Area 11, the same FCT, when Deputy Police commissioner, Danjuma Ibrahim made sexual advances at Augustine who returned a negative response.

Officer Danjuma was said to have drove to a nearby police checkpoint where he told policemen there to be battle-ready to confront a group of armed robbers in the area.

When the APO6 got to the police checkpoint in their car, Officer Danjuma was said to have drove into them and ordered his men to shoot.

Four of the APO6 were forcefully re-united with their ancestors right there on the spot while Ifeanyin and Augustina were taken to Garriki police station where DPO Abdulsalam Othman served as the Lord of the Manor.

The next day, the duo of Ifeanyin and Augustina were taken to some place outside town where they were executed.

The lady was strangled by DCP Danjuma Ibrahim, according to the testimony of the police witnesses at the criminal trial.

Just for saying "No" to the sexual overtures of a randy police officer, lady Augustina and the other 5 Igbo traders were gruesomely murdered by the police that is being paid to protect them!

If you think killing these Igbo traders was all that the murderous bunch that is the Nigerian police did, you better think again because even after killing them, these uniformed butchers connived with their armourer and planted weapons on the bodies of these Igbo traders and brought a photographer, one Chukwu Chukwudi to take their pictures which they (the police) displayed for all to see with intent to convince the public that the APO6 were armed robbers.

It took a public outcry and demonstration by Igbo traders in APO to force the then govt of President of Olusegun Obasanjo to order a public hearing into this heinous crime.

It was during the hearing that some police officers broke ranks and told the panel how Danjuma Ibrahim masterminded the killing.

The Garriki police station chief armourer equally confessed that the weapons found on the accused were planted.

Two of the accused policemen equally admitted shooting two of the APO6 on the orders of Deputy commissioner Danjuma Ibrahim.

Now here is what will make you die crying:

When the matter went on trial, the chief culprit, Deputy commissioner Danjuma Ibrahim who ordered the shooting of the APO6 and even strangled Augustina for rejecting his advances at the nightclub, was released on what the court called "exceptional and special medical bail" in August 2006, less than one year into the trial.

The DPO at the Garriki police station, Abdulsalam Othman who supervised the barbarism disappeared from the 5th floor of Louis Edet house (force headquarters) where he was detained.

According to the testimony of the police, officer Othman went for prayers and never came back. Case closed! Till today.

A suspect in a high profile murder trial was allowed to go to the mosque to pray without any form of surveillance or monitoring. Only in Nigeria!

Just last Thursday, Justice Ishaq Bello of Abuja high court discharged and acquitted both Deputy Police commissioner Danjuma Ibrahim who ordered the killings and Abdulsalam Othman who supervised it all and even planted weapons on the APO6 as the DPO Garriki police station, according to the testimony of police officers who testified at the criminal trial.

The reason the judge gave was that there was no sufficient evidence that the duo were guilty in the killing of the APO6.

Meanwhile, the same Judge convicted the two junior officers who admitted in their statement that they shot two of the APO6 on the orders of senior officer Danjuma Ibrahim who fed them the info that the APO6 were armed robbers after the only lady among them have turned down his advances.

As I type this, officers Danjuma Ibrahim and Abdulsalam Othman yet roam the earth as free men, breathing free air and unleashing more savagery on humanity.

Quite frankly, I am finding it increasingly difficult and almost impossible to retain my sanity here.

How do some of you look at grave injustices such as this one and just move on as though its nothing?? How do you people do it?

To some of you that are still patriotic to the Nigerian state, pray tell, how do you pull off such feat?

How do you retain allegiance, loyalty and patriotism to a murderous entity that is not only deaf, dumb and blind to the sanctity of the lives of the human person but seemingly derive some sort of orgasm in killing the same citizens it exists solely to protect?

How do you people open your teeth and smile at a police force that murders her own citizens and even plant weapon on them to cover up the crime simply because a lady said 'No' to the advances of a randy senior police officer??

Of what use is the law when it is to be enforced by an organised criminal gang such as the Nigerian Police which delight in killing the same people they are meant to protect over such a flimsy excuse as saying 'No' to a sex request from a police officer??

If there is something that grieves me beyond words, it is sharing not just the same human trait but the same geographical space as these uniformed criminals.

Being born a Nigerian and having to live in Nigeria is among the worst thing that could happen to anyone.

I have seen many people here talking about Innoson making cheap cars?

What actually is the price range that would be cheap according to you guys analysis? Is it possible for Innoson, in a country without power to produce a car and sell less than 1 million? I doubt if that would be possible.

Also let's consider that he doesn't get all the waivers and support like Dangote(for those comparing him to Dangote) and we all know why.

I think Innoson knows most of these things the OP enumerated and I believe they are trying in that direction too.

I agree that their marketing is poor and their social media presence is backward too. As a matter of fact, some brands can sell big just by going viral on social media.

Do Nigerians have confidence to buy into Innoson should he attempt to go public? However, I also believe that he can't continue as a one man business for too long. He must go public for it to be meaningful.

I must definitely own a share in the company.

Thanks both of you for enlightenment

Romance / Iniabasi Asuquo , Relationship Fraud And All Of Us by intrepid: 5:29am On Mar 01, 2017
INIABASI, DEFENCE OF CRIMINALS AND ALL OF US

It was shocking and shameful reading what some people were wearing about a criminal and shameful behavior blatantly exhibited by one Iniabasi Bassey Asuquo which has been trending for a while.

I read as some people were struggling to exonerate him, to shame the women he duped physically, emotionally and psychologically and also to falsely accuse some men who tried to condemn his actions and bring him to the open.

One of the posts that really cut deeply into me was what I read on Chukwidi Iwuchukwu's wall. He had been updating all the happenings and in fact most of the posts by others were lifted from his wall.

Some guys condemned him and were accusing him of attaching a "Fellow friend" and a "fellow man" and that he joined forces to shame the guy for doing what he did. I read a lot and I have also read the Iniabasi purported "apology" after he "his wife" had written some smelly response in "defense" of her husband.

Well, for anyone who cares to listen especially all these men and women who want to sound "good" "non-condemnatory" and "non-judgmental , my write up is for you all hypocrites. Yes. You all are bloody hypocrites.!!!!

If only some of you have been outside this country called Nigeria to witness firsthand how we are perceived by other countries including less important nations and especially those places where many Nigerians travel for business and means of livelihood.

Our people are accused of everything despicable and rightly so, because we not only do these things but somehow try to find ways to justify them.

Nigeria is seen as the capital of cyber relationship fraud and we all must have read countless heart rending stories of our people defrauding foreigners of millions of dollars in relationship and love scams.

So if these things are condemnable, what's the difference between them and this Iniabasi guy's case?

If this Iniabasi had met an European or American woman online (he may have them in the pipeline) , would he not have defrauded them same way he did to these Nigerian women that are crying out now? And by the time it busts in the open, it'd be all over the Internet and in the news that "NIGERIANS ARE CORRUPT AND EVIL" . It'll be all over the place that "NIGERIANS ARE RELATIONSHIP SCAMMERS" and this rubs off on all of us both short term and long term.

Why should any same human being defend such a crime and such a criminal without any conscience.

I also read some of them blaming the girls for looking for love on Facebook or social media. Y'all are real dunces and crass hypocrites if you ever made such statement.

When did it become crime to look for "love and belonging" which is a fundamental need of humans? When did it become a crime to give any gift to someone you love? I only blame.the ladies for not being secrete enough to investigate well which is one of the rules of online dating (and even offline). One should make adequate investigations to know who you're dealing with.

Offline or ONLINE, people are humans. The folks you chat with online are the same people you sit with at church, school, public bus stations, you brush each other on busy streets and markets places, they are the people you meet in shopping malls etc, so what makes it wrong for one to look for love online if the people online are humans and not ghosts.

Relationship fraud by relationship fraudsters can happen also and has been happening OFFLINE, and many of us know about it and may have been affected somehow, either by a friend or by it happening to a relation.

For us to have a crime free society and a country that we can be proud of, instead of a morally impoverished country that some of us are ashamed of identifying with, we must sincerely condemn crime and criminals no matter who they are.

I commend Chukwidi Iwuchukwu and others who made this issue a case and helped the world to see it. I totally condemn anyone who tried in anyway to exonerate the relationship criminal and others like him who keep painting Nigeria and Nigerians black and who keep blocking opportunities for the innocent citizens all over the world. You guys are plain hypocrites and accomplices.

I urge these emotionally battered women who claim that he parted with their money, to file their cases in court if the can and have the evidences, let it serve as a deterrent to other crooks like him.

While others are using social media to impact lives and change the world, some criminals here are using it to inflict deep pain on fellow citizens are some myopic fellows have the temerity to shamelessly defend him(them).

Shame on you all. I think I have to make a video to talk to you lots. Shameless criminals.

Politics / Re: "Buhari Has Prostate-Related Ailment, Over 80 Years, Revealed By UK Doctor" - SR by intrepid: 7:01am On Feb 28, 2017
gbosaa:
I might not be a fan of Buhari but what's the significance of this piece of news? What would Nigerians gain from knowing that he is battling prostate cancer if the news from Sahara reporters is true?

Revealing someone's medical details is wrong and unethical.if this is true, whoever revealed those details to SH should be fished out and punished.

It's not rocket science that a man who has been abroad on medical reasons for so long might be undergoing serious medical issues. What do we gain from the revelation? I believe the VP Osibanjo is handling things in his absence relatively well.

I'm reminded of late Dora Akunyili in her final days. I thought then that her health was more important than her involvement in politics at the time. I think same of Buhari. Combining the troubles of his medical condition whatever it is with the pressures of Nigeria politics is not good for him, his family and Nigeria.

He need to retire and have some rest.

Every details about Nelson Mandela and even his re-admission to hospital until his death was all in the open.

What's wrong with you people?

Why hide his health status from his citizens? Of what use is it?

Assuming he dies in London without revealing anything, what will Nigeria say was the cause of his death? Won't we still ask? Won't they still say it even if it's all lies?

Please let's be honest for once and save this country.

Have you guys gone to other smaller countries to see how they behave?

Education / Re: Pictures Of University Of Ghana, The Best University In West Africa by intrepid: 11:17pm On Feb 26, 2017
MadCow1:
I know Legon and also use to think it was the best school I had ever seen until I visited Obafemi Awolowo University and also pee'd my pants.

Sadly though, the infrastructure in OAU has gone to shits and it's because the government has over subsidised education and the universities have little to zero means of raising the extra funds they require to efficiently function unlike Universities in Ghana that still get a large influx of foreign Students that pay their tuition in U.S Dollars.

For foreign students to come, there has to be quality of education, infrastructure and a conducive environment.

Can you see the landscaping of the entire school compound? Why wouldn't you like to study there no matter the subject?

Our Universities here are poorly maintained, money extorted from students and strike is incessant, so how would a foreigner come here.

Moreover, the issue of cult and gangsters abound and these things only happen where the environment is hostile

Politics / Re: Governor Umahi Gives N500K To Crippled Man Brutalized By Soldiers. Photo by intrepid: 7:26am On Feb 15, 2017
Organs:
Naija and show off, before all this, the army has investigated, demoted and punished the two soldiers responsible and apologised to Mr. Cripple. Now the Gov can do his own donation which is very very good by the way, but why call for their immediate dismissal?? why pass judgement? You can use that energy to appeal/ask the army what they are doing to ensure this does not happen to the next person again, leave those two alone, they have been punished by the army already and they may have dependants, family and kids maybe, demotion and query and a bad record on their file is already enough punishment as prescribed by the army.

Did you type this sh1t from sleep or you're just plain blindly hypocritical?

Do u know what humanity means and what it means to be physically handicapped? I bet u don't know.

This guy that was brutalized pays in some way, the salaries of those soldiers.

Meanwhile, why should soldiers beat people for wearing camo in Nigeria while in other countries, they are respected?

Wearing camo is a sign of solidarity with your countries soldiers and no big deal.

Yes, some thieves use it to terrorize but did that crippled man do such? Isn't there a way to investigate folks who wear camo, if they are seen to be suspicious.

Abeg, go and rest with ur lopsided logic
