A servicing company located in lekki has vacancy for an accountant.

Job Description

Handle accounts payable and receivable.
Maintain records of business costs, such as labor and material
Check invoices for inaccuracies
Reconcile accounts with the general ledger
Handle general account queries
Contact clients about invoices that are past due.

Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records
Update and maintain accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable)
Compile data and prepare a variety of reports.
Reconciles records with internal company employees and management, or external vendors or customers
Recommends actions to resolve discrepancies
Investigates questionable data
Enter and balance accounts receivable and payable on a daily basis
Assist with other accounting projects in the office
Track deposits made to bank and handle deposit transfers
Assemble financial data for audits
Monitor credit card charges, payment discrepancies, refunds, returns and miscellaneous charges
Maintain orderly financial filing system
Reconcile department accounts monthly and prepare reports to present to management
Track tax payments and compile information for tax filing.

Preparing accounts and tax returns
Administering payrolls and controlling income and expenditure
Auditing financial information
Compiling and presenting reports, budgets, business plans, and financial statements
Analysing accounts and business plans
Providing tax planning services with reference to current legislation
Financial forecasting and risk analysis
Dealing with insolvency cases
Negotiating the terms of business deals and moves with clients and associated organisations

Work tends to be office based, with working hours often extending beyond the regular nine to five at peak times, such as at the end of the financial year.


Qualification and Requirements
Must have either HND or BSc degree but must also possess Professional qualification in accounting (Chartered Accountant)
Aged between 23 and 35years
Must be able to work under pressure.
Should be able to work with little or no supervision
Must be a team player
Proficient in MS office (MS Excel and PowerPoint in Particular)
Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize work
Attention to detail and problem solving skills

I find it disgusting the way house maids are treated in Nigeria. you see a family of five in church and the maid is easily identifiable. What is wrong in treating them with a bit of regard?last year i visited a friend of mine whose maid was busy inside. she called her to the living room for another errand and guess what? she told the girl she stank. I felt so bad i had to challenge her on that. I know some maids are lazy, rude or need a push but they are humans. If i cant treat them like i can treat my own kids, i wont have them. Notice the way architects and developers build maid room in houses? their room can be accessed from outside the house and at the back of the house so that Guests dont get to see them entering or leaving the house. its quite a pity.

My mum never beat me til date. Even when broke, she would borrow money and buy. airtime to call me and my siblings just to check on us. I remember when I wanted to travel out but could not raise the ticket money, mum brought out the best wrappers she had and took them to sell in order to raise the money. I moved to this apartment some years ago with the landlord living there
