Hmm I now believe the way most Nigerian president handle this country, is the way many Nigerians handle their homes, which is, they live above their means. Borrowing and lending is their way of life, they live from hand to mouth.
You have said it all.
Living beyond our means is what has brought Nigeria to this level. You need to compare the life style of our leaders borrowing all these funds to that of the whites they are borrowing from. You will never believe our leaders are the ones borrowing. They live lavishly, but keep on telling the poor masses to endure. Quite unfortunate.

This is the strategy that APC government normally use to increase fuel price but people don't know.
Exactly!
Now after the scarcity, the prices are never coming down. Gradually fuel will get to 3k per liter. I remember when subsidy was removed, it was around 549 naira. But today it is 950.

I understand what he is talking about & I'm not being emotional but u know some of those terms he used are wrong. There are more better words or examples to make use of.

This is Africa so you speak like an african & when in Europe, u speak like a European.

Either ways, it's all good.
This is Africa indeed, that is why u guys keep risking yours lives through the Mediterranean sea to get to Europe! You people are never logical! Stop bringing sentiments into everything. There is nothing wrong in what he said! The nuisance of a guy called governmentagent is the face of ponzi himself. A govt that is yet to deliver on one single promise, yet we have someone representing such a thing coming here to constitute nuisance all the time. Fuel is now selling for N950, was that what they promised us? What ponzi can be bigger than that?? Saying a mother giving birth to a child is ponzi was from a broader view, because in life nothing is certain. Everything that is uncertain have a trace of ponzi in it. Stop getting emotional!

See ehnnn you people doing this crypto thing dey try pls. No jokes you deserve a special award for strength and duggedness. I put 2166 dolls for ETH, SOL and MNT. It went up to $2,177 in 5 hours. Shebi stupid me was supposed to sell and just forget it all. In my very eyes it went back to $2,022 in under 24 hours. 3 days I never well, I was running temperature and my body was hot. This morning I decided to sell it all for 2,102. See the loss now, but I will die if i lose all my money down to $500. Crypto can kill ooo!!! Two hands up for you chairmen!!!
The problem was not cryppto, but u that decided to invest in something u have zero knowledge about. People learn trade for years before they invest their funds in business, people spend 6 years in universities, still yet after graduation they have no job, but most of u just want to jump into cryppto today with 1m & make 10m the next day, it doesn't work that way. One of the basic requirement to succeed in any business is patience. A lot of u people coming into cryppto lack patience & knowledge!

Tinubu has failed
If he knows what's good, he better reduce fuel price as soon as possible
That's the only way to end this carnage if not his govt will be battling unrest in the North for the next four years
He should ask Jonathan
This is true
Once violence starts in the north, it is always hard to end. He should reduce fuel price even if it is for sometime to quell the situation. Some persons were killed in some part of Abuja yesterday because of this protest. The thing is brewing gradually. He had the opportunity to end this on Sunday by reducing fuel price, but he didn't. People are losing lives already. I think this is where Jonathan was different.

If you want queues and scarcity to end, let the marketers charge petrol at market price

Simple and short

Yes, it means fuel would cost N1800 per liter by now, and nigbati, tinubu and buhari are evil people, etc, .....but other countries around us pay just as high, and in the case of some of them like Ghana and Niger produce crude oil

Ghana has economic crisis

yet fuel costs N1600 per liter there

And they HAVE NO QUEUES

And they got two working REFINERIES AND CRUDE production.

Same for NIger.
Same old nonsense!
Tinubu told us there is no more subsidy, what market cost are u still talking about??
When marketers start selling at 1800, price will get to 2800 within 6 months? Fuel was 500 when tinubu removed subsidy, how much is fuel now in less than a year? When Jonathan wanted to remove subsidy it was this very same Tinubu that led the protest, so what nonsense are u saying now?? How many times will Tinubu remove subsidy in less than 1 year? Do u know it is the poor masses not working for govt that are bearing the brunt of these decisions?? Marketers charging petrol at market cost is never the solution & scam! The system is corrupt period!
Politics / Re: Benefits Of Fuel Subsidy Removal - Daily Trust by jayce232: 11:39pm On Jul 28
There is no benefit to the average Nigerian!
Removal of fuel subsidy is the major cause of this economy mess we are facing today. The only way govt can reduce this hardship is to restore fuel subsidy or reduce fuel price which ever way they can. They have been telling the masses to exercise patience, subjecting people to extreme hardship, but they the leaders don't want to compromise at all. Fuel is now selling for 850/900 per liter & it is still going up? Reduce fuel price & see if things won't naturally come down!

Instead of focusing on the protest, why don't they focus on doing the needful to avert the protest.

I really believe restoring fuel subsidy is possible if Govt can deal with corrupt practices associated with the subsidy and also drastically cut down on cost of governance amongst others.
Don't mind them!
That's to tell u how evil minded our leaders are. They are never willing to compromise at all. At this point, I expect the president to restore fuel subsidy even if it is just for few months to cushion the hardship & avert this protest, but they will never do that, because it doesn't benefit them. Very selfish leaders.

I don't know why he does not want to do the bold. Those former president that didn't remove subsidy he thought they're dumb, unfortunately things can't get back to where he met it, he can only savage it except some project will be suspended and fuel will be heavily subsidize to bring it to #300 while reduce import duty tax on food to control the inflation

He needs to do the bold, else his govt is going to be sth else. Before the end of 4 years fuel will be selling for around 3k, inflation is going to be extremely bad & I fear if people can cope. Those around him are not even advising him because of their selfish interest.

Tinubu is more worried on protest been hijacked than working to reduce inflation

If you had performed well, who will be talking about protest, you keep saying we should keep calm while you keep buying luxuries things. At the helm of inflation and complaining no money, you keep borrowing money to buy SUV for lawmakers

I'm for peaceful protest nonetheless, no one should destroy anything in southwest states or loot anyone businesses

But Tinubu you failed humanity, you failed the integrity of people who put trust in you
The man is a classical example of putting square peg in round holes. Always doing things from the left. The first gift this man gave to Nigerians was to remove subsidy on his inauguration day & that very decision is foundation of all the economic mess we are facing today...The man is not smart to be very honest. Buhari govt was not this bad!

Life is currently very unbearable for most Nigerians now.

The only way forward is to immediately restore Fuel Subsidy and fight all corrupt practices associated with the FS,
Scrap either Senate or House of Rep,
cut down drastically on the cost of governance at all levels,
At this point it is a must govt restore fuel subsidy. That is the only solution. Fuel is now selling for 850 naira at filling stations & it is still going up. How long can Nigerians continue? If fuel price is not reverse, this hardship is never going to end.

Occupy Nigeria protest was about the price of petrol.

The increment was done in a new year period

Labor union and Trade union joined

It's different from protest that has no head or tails

If protest couldn't have held from last year till when new minimum wage was negotiated, then what exactly is this protest about?
How much are u buying fuel now as compared to last year subsidy was removed?? I bought fuel for 820 two days ago at a filling station.

Didn't turn violent cause it took place mainly in the SW and the saboteurs couldn't do much

Plus, the protest had elites and highly ranked personalities who are peace-loving and sane

Jonathan was a true definition of a Democrat & handled the protest well by not using force, not this nonsense u just wrote.
