Culture / Re: I'm About To Marry An 'Outcast' (Osu) Guy by Jezzy(f): 6:33am On Jan 16, 2008
I couldn't help smiling after reading your post,Germannig, the Osu cast system is alive and well in Abia State. That's my state and the story I related earlier happened in Abia State.Shameful but true. It's not like people are going about avoiding Osu but when you really know it's alive and kicking is when the issue of marriage comes up.
Health / Re: What Do You Use When On Your Period? Tampons Or Pads? by Jezzy(f): 3:03pm On Jan 13, 2008
Pads are it for me.I just don't want the first hard thing going in there to be a tampon, heck no.There are super skinny pads these days,so skinny that you don't feel you have anything there.Lol.

Culture / Re: I'm About To Marry An 'Outcast' (Osu) Guy by Jezzy(f): 4:20am On Jan 06, 2008
To all,the Osu caste system is alive and well in Igbo land in 2008.I thought it was stuff from fiction and it was never discussed in the house I grew up in until someone close to me fell in love with a man.The man she fell in love with was an 'Osu' and she was discouraged by her family and relatives not to go ahead with the man.I was offended by the whole situation because I couldn't imagine such tradtions still being effective in this day and age. They were told that there are things that can be done to remove the 'osu-ness' from the guy so they can marry each other as free borns. For some reason I'm not privy to,they didn't do this. And she refused to dump her guy.Because of this, they couldn't do a traditional wedding because the family and community boycotted the event. They eventually had a wedding in church in another state in a different part of the country. They are still married and as far as I know are happy together.

This tradition is outlawed by the law courts of Nigeria. We can stay on this site and pontificate all we want but until Nigeria changes and our laws become enforceable, people will still be treated like shyt because of what their ancestors did or din't do.My 2 cents.

@Ogejov,if you are really sure you can stand the heat that this will bring your way, hang in there. But remember that it is not only you,all your kids and their kids will face this same heat except our country changes. All are free in Christ-but most of the world doesn't know that and would give you grief for marrying osu and all such silly stuff.I wish you the best.
Health / Re: There Is A health helper In House That Answers Your Health Questions by Jezzy(f): 7:27pm On Jan 04, 2008
Janami,it's true.I read something like that in a health magazine a while ago and I too was shocked.
Health / Re: Dysmenorrhea a.k.a Menstrual Pain or Cramps by Jezzy(f): 7:22pm On Jan 04, 2008
Painful periods are second only to toothache.

Mine leaves me weak in the knees, pale, nauseous, irritable, angry, drowsy, tired, cold, emotional and every other negative word you can imagine. These days,I pop advil at least two days before it starts and it helps as long as I steadily take the advil till the period ends.

I also noticed that sweet things help me especially Sprite or 7UP.

Romance / Re: Trust In A Relationship: Should It Be 100%? by Jezzy(f): 7:35am On Jan 04, 2008
Can I trust someone a 100% in a relationship?

Yes.And if I can't,then I won't be in a relationship with him.
Romance / Re: Should A Man Know His Wife Or Girlfriend's Past? by Jezzy(f): 7:15am On Jan 04, 2008
Honesty is the best policy. If this is a relationship leading to marriage, the parties involved have to come clean with each other about their past.No matter how much one wants to overlook the past,it has great bearing on the way a person's outlook on the future is formed. The disclosure is not supposed to be for malicious purposes,it should help the people involved to map out a better future. It would also keep them accountable.

Remember,Love keeps no record of wrongs(I Cor 13:5b).
Romance / Re: The Memoirs Of : Handell by Jezzy(f): 6:35am On Jan 03, 2008
Top-kin,which kin advice be this?In one breath you ask him to talk to God and in another you ask him to go before a gorgeous naked woman. Is it so he can commit fornication?Or so he can get aroused and just walk away?Doing that is very unnecessary. All the help he needs is in God.

Happy New Year,Handell.Remember to fight the battle one day at a time so that you won't be overwhelmed.Much love.
Romance / Re: When A Girl Can't Cook, And She Doesnt Want To Learn by Jezzy(f): 6:28am On Jan 03, 2008
Cooking?Arghhhh,my nemesis!
Actually I didn't start any serious cooking till I was 18 because there were always people around to do it and I absolutely refused to be bothered.I mean I could fry stuff and boil the occasional rice or beans. One day,my mum had had enough and took everyone out and ordered me to have a pot of soup ready by the time they got back.I had to save face and cook(I couldn't very well run to neighbors for help-was too proud), the soup turned out edible. cheesy
I'm not the best of cooks but I love watching people enjoy my food,it gives me great pleasure.
BTW,I will not marry a man who cannot cook. There is nothing sexier than a man who knows his way around the kitchen! grin tongue

Romance / Re: The Memoirs Of : Handell by Jezzy(f): 7:28am On Dec 29, 2007
Homosexuality is a form of sexual immorality.I could go on and tell you what a beautiful person you are and how you are unique(you are) and how you should not let anyone put you down(don't ever) but if I said that and omitted the fact that the way you are headed leads to destruction,I wouldn't have done you any favors. My dear, think it through ok.Your emotions and desires shouldn't be the master of you.
I hope you think hard and long.Wishing you the best.
