Hello, my People ... JUSTX24 in the house ... Some people might be here who know me, and most of you will not.
Seeing how far the FTA discussion has grown on Nairaland is awesome, well-done, everyone.

I want to know the latest FTA technology and what is available. I think someone should create an updated introduction/Tutorial for FTA newbies like myself . It's easy to get lost in the discussion here, So a dedicated spot with a link on every page should be made available and easy to find. I want to learn and see if I can get involved in an FTA project in my free time, since technologies are much more advance than when It all started..(Check the first page of the number 1 thread for FTA). Some legends ( Olofofo, Enitan, Ola, Badiru, Twintaye etc.) were available to help me and my interest quickly grew and I was able to help other interested people too. Lifting my Hat up to Everyone on here .. I need an updated referesher. But maybe not just for me ...for everybody.

Think we should be the closest pal now , checked a few of your setup pictures and i think its very informative. Now am set to start installing my 2.4m mesh dish. maybe it will be nice of you to point me to any page with step by step information on how to , Think i can get the dish on the pole right( will not mind any help thou). Think i need more help in programming the jack and stations. And maybe a complete list of Bird i can get on the Di-electric and the one without , so as to make it easier.

Nice idea you give me about the real stuff. Will try and save some money to change base and maybe give it all a try , will a MESH 2.4 do the trick. Or must i opt for the pan , so i can get a sniff of the ultimate nilesat too? Am alwayse happy to be here, i read this forum everyday now and alwayse with my teeth outside my lips most of the time. Its very livelly here. Even when we are not talking FTA its really lively. No other forum in niraland is as cool as this , think you guys need to be honour with a CFR national award too ( could it be FTA ?).

Sorry guys , if i sound abit off, i seem to have lost my post. Am quite sure i post a few line about my meeting with MR GEM( the FTA guy from Akure) yesterday. Wetin they shele ?

MR-GEM came to IB yesterday and said he\s off to Ilaro. A cool guy and we talked about few new things. mostly i told him that maybe we can have a "one way satellite internet" service with our dish and use it for free with our uplink from our slow mobile internet(courtesy of Enitan, at least in the forum). Anyone have any idea about this stuff?

And i really will like to know how much your guys got your compass for. Maybe i put mine up for sale, ( mine is abit HIGH_TECH) .

SPY work no easy ooo , i really don't see anything this few guys have checked on are using thats not in the forum. What exactly am i suppose to be looking for Maybe am not looking the right places. Man its a hard one, \cos i really dont dig Football that much. Am forced to go and sweat it out among guys, man its not the best for my health. can you REASSIGN me to SPY on some stuff mostly watched by ladies. they should smell better . I don't dig guys skin on mine, especially when its sweating.

Am thinking about this internet access via W3a. Anyone know how this can be done, I know this much, that its only for the download , and for the uploading we use something else like the dial- up. Anyone have idea how this is done ?

And the PSAT on W3a , its scrambled , and u need to buy a special kind of FTA decoder , not card , u are activated by the serial number of your decoder. Thats as much as i can remember about them.


I want nilesat on Mesh 2.4m . think it should not be motorized for maximum nilesat capability? question for the nilesat gurus in the house. Advice or is it Advise.

About us getting together , definitely we need to have a plan in place and then a six month notice will be fine , to allow everyone enough chance to plan and make it, At least some of us have to save for our transport and accommodation, Yes accommodation 'cos i don't think you guys want it to be just a day thing , why not a whole week, And the place , we all have to vote on that , thats why this soft(forum) need to be upgraded so we can have a pool to vote , most forum does. Think i can do it all now , The only problem i have is very tall fence almost close to the one of Kirikiri max prison. Thats why am lying low now . Anyway i can get C-band on my 90cm dish? Thinking about the free goodies on 7/10. My other dish is on W3a ( at the moment enjoying MSNBC Olympic broadcast).

I hope you two get together and have a go at that Nilesat for Folly. Please make sure you have good camera in hand , we really want to see how it all goes. A bit of technical photography , things we need to know , and maybe write up a tutorial out of your experience installing it. Man you guys are lucky, to have a go at installing nilesat.

Try scanning with the satellite you have on W4( trend tv). And maybe its also free there , ' cos on 7/10 its only on C-band. And i guess you have Ku-band.
