Romance / Re: Why Do Women Find It Hard To Be Submissive In Relationships? by Kayus99(m): 9:39pm On Jan 14, 2010
I love my wife no matter what she does - submit or no submit. Although I would prefer she is submissive; but hey if she does not submit today, tomorrow is another day, and that is love.
Family / Re: What Makes A Good Wife? by Kayus99(m): 2:16pm On Jul 06, 2009
What makes a my good wife? Some one who is reliable.
am sure you would think honesty should come first but consider someone who causes a crisis just because she made a "honest" mistake. Every other quality a man seeks in a good wife stems from her being reliable, what you have day 1 will be what you will always have at your death bed or hers whichever comes first. For example, trustworty ,respectful, compatible, intelligent, emotionally ready, fun, driven, with goals etc etc can be present in the begining but you need it to be sustained forever.
So guys a note of caution always seek someone who is dependable.
Family / Re: How to Deal With a Wife That Nags a Lot by Kayus99(m): 4:23am On Jul 01, 2008
Preamble: Married 10 years and she has been nagging less than a year from when we got married.

I have tried everything from tuning off, with the occasional nod, to nagging match (I must confess I was not of a match, it actually left me worse), to the most recent leaving the house for some hours. In fact I think the most recent (3 weeks and counting) is the most effective, but leaving was not easy as she barred the door with her person in order to prevent me from leaving till I heard her very last word. But I was not having it,  I actually had to "break bottle" for my wife before she left the door post.

So I think the combination of breaking bottle (i did not use it) and leaving the house for a while is effective but like I said its 3 weeks (a record in 9+ years) and am counting.

BTW, as for the bible verse "It is better to live on the roof top of your house, " That is so true as I have converted our attic into 3 rooms and moved my home/office there.
Family / Re: What Is The Value Of A Woman Who Can't Cook? by Kayus99(m): 3:51pm On Jun 13, 2007
@all,

when cosidering the response to this question one need to take a long term view. The way i see it, IT DEPENDS.

For example, if the intent is to settle down with her then a woman that cant cook and will not learn how to cook becomes a mother that cant cook (assumptions made here). So now the question is What is the value of a Mother that cant cook? I am sure that many of you that have suggested the modern day alternative of getting a chef will be very hesitant in having them prepare food for your infants. Hence she has no value whatsoever in the kitchen department.

On the other hand if you are not planning on settling down with her then the question need not arise because its a matter of time.

@topic, hope this helps you making a decision, if any.
Travel / Re: Woman Loses 11.8 Million Naira To US Immigration by Kayus99(m): 2:47pm On May 16, 2007
Failing to declare valuables over $100 (you pay duty for over $100) and cash over $10,000 is an offense and penalties for concealing declarable items can be very severe, as we can see. When you are caught you are subject to the US courts which we all know can be very vindictive and bias.

In hindsight, am sure she would have wished she had declared it, its as simple as filling out a form and duty is NOT paid on cash not matter the amount. The twist here is filling out the form requires you be 100% honest and accurate with your response to the questions failure to do this is perjury-- another offense which if found guilty, a 3 yr probation will not be sufficient.

Its unfortunate she lost the money but one needs to follow the rules especially when you are a foreigner.
Nairaland / General / Re: What Do You Hate About Our Moderator? by Kayus99(m): 8:59pm On May 08, 2007
I dont hate you Seun but what i dislike is you banning my display name "ooo0" and replacing it with something else. This unilateral decision of yours says a  lot about you.

And what was the reason, its a bad display name. These are my initials plus a number 0. I have asked for the guidelines for creating a display name on this forum from you but am still yet to get a response. It appears the silence means there is none.
Career / Re: Is A Third Class In Computer Science Useless? by Kayus99(m): 4:01pm On May 02, 2007
Dont let your 3rd class get the better of you. As a personal example I had a 3rd class in geopgraphy and planning from my undergrad a little over 10 years ago and have advanced to be a senior manager/head of IT dept. During this period I acquired a number of certifications and additional degrees required for the job.

I started out by volunteering, through this the employer recognizes his risk in employing you have been minimized. Let the employer know that you are willing to volunteer for a set period of time to prove your worth if s/he is having any doubt in your ability. This does not mean you are desperate but simply want to prove you deserve a chance!

My recommendation, at your next interview is to offer to volunteer for a period (your pocket permitting and your offer is negotiable e.g. employer will pay for transportation) and let them know you are pursuing additional certifications recognized in the field.

Good luck

Business / Re: What Is Money and Where Does It Come From? by Kayus99(m): 2:17pm On Apr 23, 2007
What is money? This is any financial instrument that can be easily converted to obtain something of value.
Where does it come from? When and wherever you provide value you command the ability to receive money (provided you know it is valueable).
Politics / Re: Are Thursday April 12 & Friday April 13 Public Holidays? by Kayus99(m): 3:13pm On Apr 12, 2007
I am not surprised at all. He is a soldier in 'sheep' clothing. It always a one way street , like a zombie.

Although good for employees but too bad for business owners especially after just coming from the easter break.

And the reason " two days for travel", does he not realize the person that is going to travel would have made arrangements ages ago rather than the night before.

I beg my brothers and sisters vote this pple out.
Career / Re: Career Change: From IT To Investment/Business Analysis by Kayus99(m): 8:06pm On Apr 06, 2007
Hi,

i did not have a career change but my job responsibilities have changed a lot. i started out in IT and obtained all the relevant certifications required (for my job i.e. mcse, cisa and cissp), I rose through the ranks to become Snr Manager and head of my employers IT department. Now my job mostly consists of setting the IT strategy for the company, interfacing with the other heads of department as well as managing the IT staff.

I chose to remain in IT because of the passion i had for it. So although I don't do nitty gritty of the operations I try to anytime time permits this is because, ---and read well o-- you will definitely miss it. My suggestion to you is that unless you are fed up with technology, which I don't think so based on the reason you are suggesting for a career change, you are invest your time and energy in business school. Obtaining my MS and currently pursuing an MBA both from business schools I believe has helped me to reach where I am now.

Not sure where you are located but I suggest going to a reputable business school to gain management level skills. Even though IT skills are getting cheaper you need to differentiate your self from others that way you will continue to command a high salary. Again getting to the board level requires management training (obtained through MBA).

Thats my 2cents but if you are sick of IT then disregard the above. As for standing a chance with 20 -24's you will have to do the same thing you did in IT all again -- which is proving yourself -- but your knowledge of IT and working in the banking sector should give you a head start against entry levellers.

Good Luck, dude!

Culture / Re: Your Views On Polygamy? by Kayus99(m): 4:18pm On Apr 01, 2007
my 2 cents, why get married to the 2nd or 3rd woman; keep them as they are and it shall be well with you. really it would.
Car Talk / Re: Why Buy A Hummer Jeep? by Kayus99(m): 11:13pm On Mar 26, 2007
The upfront payment to purchase a 2nd hand Hummer H2/H3 is no big deal, the big question is can you afford it, that is maintenance. There is no point buying something and it becomes a challenge to enjoy it.
Family / Re: I Need To Leave My Matrimonial Home by Kayus99(m): 10:20pm On Mar 24, 2007
@Ihuj,

My dear stop deceiving yourself and everyone around you! Go talk to your man and let him know how you feel, it would be your first "right" decision prior to your decision to get married. I hope you are woman enough.

Again stop living a lie.
