@julie 55
There is no need to reschedule, since you made your payment last week thursday, i am positive that before the 21st which is your interview date,homeland would have received your payment and update it On their website. They usually receive the payment the next day, but updating it is where the problem is, they are backlogged. Thesame day they updated their records that my official receipt had been sent was thesame day my US contact received it, so you can imagine they must have sent it out 2 days earlier. So just relax they should update their records before 21st.

@ all

Contrary to the idea that you don't need to attach any file while applying for Emergency appointment, please that was before, if you want to apply for one, from your home tab click emergency appointment, it will take you to a page and expalain details on those that qualify for emergency appointment, the next page, you will write in brief why you want a quicker date and attach your i20 and sevis receipt. They always Do approve of it if you follow this means.

@stantiques
I thought you were liasing with gboyega to get this done, it would be easier for someone in the US to solve this problem.

You had better apply again and make sure you attach your i-20 and also pay your sevis fee. That's what to look at before approving emergency dates.

@samie4u

I suppose your I-20 was attached with your online application relax then, cause that's the document they use to approve emergency appointment. So just relax!

housemates, i have a bit of challenge, my school didn't require GRE, because i intend studying the same Major at Master level as my undergraduate, so it was waived for me. But i went ahead to do the GRE now, and i heard it takes about 2 months to get the Hard copy test result. So i was thinking since the online copy print out would be out in 2 weekd, can i take the print out copy to the embassy, cause i might not have received the Hard Test Result copy by the date of my appointment.
What do you think?

I don't know what else you can do oh, its only homeland that can solve your problem, keep trying them! And be on the look for other source of contact.

Your case is very serious! You can't maintain consistency and that's a turn off at the embassy.You have 2 solutions either look for that guy that filed for you then and tell him to give you details on that form, so you can be consistent, or you simply and totally turn to GOD! Once the VO detects a lie on an application, you as good as being a male to them even when you appear as a female! Hope you comprehend!

But like i said with God all things are possible, the VO might not even boarder to correlate your old status with the new one!

@profGinger,

Bruv your case is simple, use your dad as your sponsor have him provide his statement and other documentations, and use the company's certificates (which i believe your name should be inclusive) as a tie to Nigeria. Finito!

@jimtosam
The bank will introduce the account holder to the embassy, and probably state their relationship, this will be attached to the statement. Then your sponsor can just write a letter of sponsorship with is letter headed advocating this!

Its is now left for you to defend yourself before the VO because non of this parties will be present at your interview!

@smartmachine, just email them and quote your receipt number and other details, they should correct it with time
@stantiques, like i said i believe they are backlogged for now, cause i sent them an email since last week, and no reply yet! It might take some time, but they will definitley not ignore your mail.

I equally did pay my sevis fee sometimes last week, and 4 days after,my online status says 'paid' but receipt is still in process, though i have viewed and printed my online receipt. My possible Guess is that since its fall(major academic semester), it might take some time updating their records cause of the large number of applicants, most likely they are backlogged, so far you can print the online receipt, you should be fine for now.

Nobody is misleading anybody, i believe the essence of this thread is to learn from one another. People have gone with waec statement of result and were denied based on that, while some others went with statement of results and were issued visa. I have also read that someone went with neco on this thread and was asked to bring waec reults.

You guyz need to understand something, everybodies case is different, what worked for Mr A might not necessarily work for Mr B. Some part of an application might strengthen a weaker part. For instance if you did SAT and had a wonderful score and probably go with neco statement of result, the Vo might issue based on the fact that he is impressed with your SAT score, like i said every case is different, strengthen your application to the best of your knowledge. And focus more on the interview itself and not Documentation. I mean what's the point having all documents when you don't know why you want to study a course or have a goal in life!!!

Just look at it from this angle, the more positive impression you make of the VO, the more likely he will issue your visa.

@ekundayomi

When is your start date?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part2 by king14: 10:15pm On Jun 09, 2012
Men this date stuff is just not predictable. Some people get very luck while others don't. Sometimes it automatically reshedules you for a very early date and sometimes it doesn't. My believe is that its auto programmed. But to me 2 weeks to the date on i20 is very fine!

@bypassit,

Soory to hear this. You passed the interview that's was sure. The VO saw you has a genuine student and issued you visa, there is only one thing that could have happened. you must have lied or let me say made a crucial mistake on your form Ds160 about something and they later discovered. After every interview is done, even if the VO issues the visa, a superior officer does the checks and balances. So try and reflect back on that Ds160 form and also i believe you paid your sevis fee.

Sorry about this. You were only denied not grounded.

House please can one lie about having relatives on the Ds160 form even if you have a brother and sister that have been there for years now?. Will they find out or verify it? I just want to increase my chances and putting that there will definitely not increase my chances. Can i lie about it?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part2 by king14: 12:16pm On Jun 03, 2012
Thanks a lot fastlink. Will do
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part2 by king14: 9:39am On Jun 03, 2012
Please if one submits a ds 160 form online, and i made some mistakes can i fill another Ds form and link it to my profile? Since we will be going eith the printed copy i think the Vo will just scan the confirmation and get linked to the new one, i have about 3 siblings in the US 2 studying, and 1 permanent residence. So i want to complete another form and not state that i have anybody in the US to increase my chances. What do you think please.

Please what dates are open for lagos? Anybody?
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part2 by king14: 4:17pm On May 27, 2012
In my candid opinion its always good to be truthfull during your inerview. 73.6% of those who travel to US, actually don't return to their home country. The truth is the the VO knows this, and from a cue i got from a relative that works in the US they even prefer you staying back in US, so far its legal. All you need to do is convince the VO that you are going to study. If he can be really sure that you going to study and you have reasons to do solike passion and career/goal, they will issue your visa even without having strong ties. Majority of people that go for interview are not prepared, and they can see through, the average Nigeria applicant is disturbed about denial in the first instance, and they can impair your interview. Tell a good story, have a plan and a goal,try to make your interview as much different from the norm, cause they do this eveeryday, and above all Pray.
