Politics / Re: President Tinubu Signs Student Loan Bill Into Law (Pictures) by klemony: 10:21pm On Jun 12, 2023
Well nice one from jagaban. He's trying to package himself in the eyes of Nigerians. The Presidential election tribunal is still in court and by so doing signing of crucial bills will make many Nigerians feel ok with his govt and forget if the election was rugged or not.
What the youths actually need is more of jobs than students loan. Sooner or later subsidy removal will be declared on the tertiary institutions and there won't be subsidization of school fees in our Federal institutions since students can afford to take a loan to pay for the school fees.

Also, this loan will also tie you up as if you have already signed a bond with the govt. You can't even leave the country without offsetting your loan because your information will be shared across board.

Lastly, not the average targeted youths will benefit from this loan due to our corrupt way of life. You will start seeing politicians submitting names on behalf of tertiary institutions and Ministry of Education.

Sending congratulatory messages by world leaders to any newly elected president is expected. They ally countries will acknowledged the declaration of result by the INEC and will show impartiality to advise the aggreived parties to use legal means to seek redress.

There was a similar situation in kenya's election in 2017 which was marred by rigging and electoral malpractices and the electoral umpire declared Uhuru kenyatta as winner of the presidential election. The opposition challenged the result in supreme court of law and won the election thereby removing the incumbent president. The results of the presidential election were annulled by the court and fresh presidential election was ordered to be held within 60 days. My concern is that do we have an independent judiciary? All the election results that have been challenge in court since 1999 have not prove that our judiciary system is independent. The current ruling party always have a way to truncate the process thereby case will be adjourn until the winner completed his 4 years tenure.

We need to include electoral jurisprudence in our judiciary system taking cognizance that there will be room to seek redress in the court of law.
Our judiciary must work together with INEC as a team player whenever election season is at the corner.

God bless Nigeria.

Mexico vs Nigeria
2 -1

Nigerian feyenoord forward Cyriel Desser equalize for Nigeria with a heading from a cross from one of our defender after a goal down.

But unfortunately, our defender Troost Ekong has made an own goal to make it 2-1 in favour of Mexico.
Our formation is quite new

4.2.2.2 formation been introduced by our new coach Paseiro.

Eagles are not well known to be using this kind of formation and it's telling in them. We only have few shots on goals. Our ball possession is low as Nigeria is just chasing the ball on the pitch.
Sports / Re: Nigeria Vs Mexico. International Friendly (0 - 4) On July 4th 2021 by klemony: 5:25am On Jul 04, 2021
Mexico 3- Nigeria 0
Goal scored through a rebound from goal keeper. defenders are clueless to clear away the ball. This is where experience count.

See the way the mexican are laughing at us in spanish...! : smiley wink grin

Why should we play this match in the first place since we do not have good crop of players to execute the match.

This is an international friendly for crying out loud and it will be in our history of meeting with mexico trashing Nigeria with these set of inexperience players. We could have well played a smaller nation in football.

I'm streaming the match live on my tv and laptop and i'm very very pained and bitter with NFF and ROHR disgracing us.

Hello Nairalander's,
I think its high time Nigerians embrace modern technologies in this 21st century. Why should Nigerians still choose to subscribe to DSTV and its likes when you can simply enjoy watching those your favourite channels and lots more while using an andriod box or smart tv or wifi tv. By using this device, all you need is just an internet network then connect it to your andriod box and select the channel u want to watch.you can also search for any other channels online. you can connect this through wireless device or via wired i.e RJ45 ethernet port or via usb. The beauty of this is that u dont need much internet data to keep this device flying, internet data of as little as 128kbps is good enough for andriod box to stream and watch. The beauty of this device is that u can browse the net on your tv phones, laptops,Tabs or any other wireless device and also watch any international tv stations accross the globe. Your internet subscription through your service providers will cover for both surfing the net and as an alternative to your DSTV and the likes in terms of pay tv or terrestial tv station.

Give it a try!
Travel / Re: Nigeria Lady Delivers Message To Everyone Planning To Move To America1 by klemony: 7:52pm On Jan 16, 2018
From what the lady on video has said,i think she doesn't really mean America is a difficult nation. All what she's saying is that life is not as rosy as we think or as our relatives and friends paint it for us to be in America. Most Africans would only say the good and better/brighter side of America than the ulgly, nasty and dirty side of it. I have family friends in America whom almost everyone in the family has migrated to usa except just two remaining. I made calls to them at anytime and we chat. One of them.which happens to be my childhood friend got married here and moved down to usa and now with a kid overthere. He now has about 3 cars he use with his wife. they are both working and husband earns about $800/week and wife works in about three places. They have now rented their own houses and have beautiful apartment.Lately.he complained to me that winter in Alabamais very harsh as a matter of fact, everything in america is in excess.when it comes to summer, the sun is too hot.when it comes to rain, the rain will be to heavy and causes hurricane.but to crown it all,he said what will take u 10 years to achieve in nigeria,it will only take u about 6 months to achieve in america. But the problem overthere to many people is to have work permit and greencard.without these,u cant work legally or live legally in america.you will be scared of immigration officer because u didnt have papers to work. Furthermore,u cant travel to ur country for a long period of time becaus eif u do,u wont be given a visa anylonger because u have overstayed so this becomes a very big challenge many migrant have been facing. Taxes overthere are high. There are jobs in states where u less have immigration officers monitoring workers but for states that are exterior and crowdy,u're unsafe to be engage as a worker.u can be working and all of a sudden u hear an alert that immigration coming into the building to check papers then u run out of the building and abadon ur job and loose it for ever.Nigeria can still be a better place even if our leaders are fucking up big time. the only thing my friend preaches to me everyday is come to america. I believe in this country,u're not totally free in america.ur still a second class citizen. If we the youths and eshew the mindset of get rich syndrome all shall be well. I spend most of my time on the web,i had conversations with youths in other countries of the world like china, nepal, indonesia, philipine, india, lebanese, bangladesh etc and i could see the patriotism ans passion in them over their countries.Chinese workers could destroy a plenty of phones in their domain at their huawei office in lagos due to expiration by smashing it off with hammer. A typical nigerian begged to be given to use but they insist that they cant tarnish their image for anything..that is brand loyalty.Let us all play our part with team spirit to build this nation well. God bless nigeria,God bless us all.

Politics / Re: Jonathan’s Regime Had The Worst Economic Management Team, Says Soludo by klemony: 1:05pm On Nov 20, 2015
Prof Soludo,You claim GEJ had the worst economic mgt team relative to available resources and u commended PDP for still manage to to record tremendous progress in its 16 years of rulling. Pls sir,i would like to know in whose regime of the PDP was this progress actualised..is it in OBJ;Y'ADUA or GEJ? I think your statement are quite contradicting and erroneous.I'm sure is because you're part of Obj team that is why u gave credit to PDP in its 16 years rulling. You canvass for Nigeria to buy the idea of single currency for west africa (ECO) for your own selfish policy. You made us believe that our banks 89 by then wasn't strong enough in terms of reserve and liquidity so u ask our banks to recapitalised to the tune of N25 billion and therefore reduced the number to 24 which is not even the seize of 4 banks we have in south africa. You also introduced N20 polymer note that our previous note doesn't last longer during transactions but the new polymer notes fades away so quickly in the hands of the holder. You also made us to believe that our banks are strong and as such advertising shares that doesnt sustain the shareholders and allowing our bank MD to give out loans to rich few Nigerians exposing them to huge non performing loans without receiving a substantial collateral if not for Sanusi Lamido that exposes these bank MD's and got them fired.Sir,i will like to remember you that bail out was given to the failed banks as stimulus package for them not to have a bank run. Over N400 billion was realease to cushion the effect of illiquidity from those banks.Where are this money coming from? is it not the money from govt?is that not a mismagement by you from your negligence as an umpire of our financial payment system? God bless Nigeria..God bless us all.
Education / Re: NUC Bans Online Degrees, Abacha Varsity Certificates by klemony: 10:10am On Jul 24, 2015
Well,I think outright ban of online degrees is not too good by nuc. What they could have done is to regulate.i understand our youths nowadays are very eager to gain admission into conventional institutions and they don't want to stay at home for long writing jamb and waec or neco.they want to impress their peers, parents and society that they are now in high institutions without paying the price by studying very hard and been focus in trying to achieve that aim. Well,it's cool gaining admission to school so early but you have to pay the price for it.some of our parent procure admission for their children via online degree and foreign institutions because their wards are too lazy to study and pass this qualifying exams. Although, our universities mostly federal ones still have the quality professors and Dr's but the fraud in our educational system is to bad.some lecturers will want you to pay huge amount of money to have good grades in their exams or until you cram and repeat all their notes in class during exam or female students sleeping with them for the same purpose or paying huge amount of money to get a good classes of honors to graduate with.also, our educational curriculum are too outdated.our lecturers uses old syllabus, crude methods in teaching and learning. Not all online degrees or foreign university are substandard. Even most of the prestigious institutions like havard,MIT,yale,Sandford etc runs online courses with certificates of learning and accomplishment and credit to gain admission for full time course. Most of this online certificate courses(mooc)from edx.org,cousera.org,alison.com,saylor.org etc are more qualitative and with modern research, methodology and of recent technology/technics than our so called courses we learn in university where researches and update are never made to improve the syllabus with modern day technics. I have completed several courses from this online learning. Platform via edx, cousera,Alison and I must confess they are far better than what we learned from our professors in conventional institutions. Their courses is tailored to address and tackle recent events, probe past events and history and look at the future events. It's has really helped me a lot to enhance and improve my skill gap and expose me to latest technology and event happenings. What would nuc say concerning NOUN?are they not running an online learning system too?they also have stated mooc courses just like the ones we have in the prestigious universities abroad. Nuc should regulate the system and collaborate with the reputable ones and let's have the online degree complementing the physical institutions. God bless Nigeria. Amen!!!

Politics / Re: President Jonathan Gives Emotional Speech On APC, Amaechi’s Comment by klemony: 10:43am On Dec 27, 2014
It's so unfortunate and disheartening to see the way some nairaland viewers thinks and reason sometime. I think if we all have internet data to visit nairaland website,we should also find time to know what is going around the world globally. I'm in my mid 30's and I'm opportune to see the regime's of some of ur past leader's like obj;shagari;idiagbon;buhari;ibb;abacha;yaradua;Gej.I think our problem is both leadership and followership.you need to see how other Africans commits crime and claims they are from Nigeria.they quickly protect their country's name and image..will a Nigerian ever thought of that no except condemning this country name and image. Our leader's got it all wrong in the early 80's by allowing I'm and world bank to deceived in devaluing our strong Naira. We have so many challenges in this country of ours ranging from infrastructure;developmental;economic and institutional. Had it been our past leader's have tackled at least one of this issue in the past maybe successors could have had few issues to be face with but instead most of them left power without tackling one e.g yaradua and obj .The truth be told ,no leader can fix this country challenges if voted in for the 1st tenure. .Our challenges are so enormous. Those clamoring for change doesn't know what it mean by change.politicians leaving ACN to PDP; PDP to APC;APC to PDP and u call that CHANGE? I don't like PDP as party but I see gej as someone if given the good atmosphere to lead will kick start the uplift ment we need as regards to key infrastructure. Corruption is endemic and our psyche has been skewed to getting rich if we have our own opportunity to be at the top of leadership. Obj looted 16 billion dollars all in the name of revamping our power sector.yaradua was advised to focus on just two issues concerning the economy but he insisted that he gonna achieve all his 7 point agenda which he never achieve till his demise.jonathan might have looted aswell but he has the sagacity to address the key issues we have like power, road, agriculture etc.he has the nerve to unbundled power sector and create a part for reforms .agriculture has been revitalized, our road network has been improved. I think Nigerians need this change in our key infrastructures.have u ever wondered how Ghana and south africa manage to have a sustained power for longer years?we can't continue to do things the way our past leader's does that it didn't work and we shouldn't check how is been obtainable in other climes.our Naira has fallen because of drop in international prices of oil.our country is a mono product economy based on oil production majorly. Most time we have a stable exchange rate is because oil prices continues to hover above 100 dollars per barrel and our reserves was used time to time to cushion the effect of our weak currency.even the BRICS countries like brazil,Russia;India and south africa are facing currency depreciation aswell.Buhari would have been given the benefit of the doubt to lead us if not for his inflammatory statements he has been altering in the past as regards to previous elections.his statements aggravated most of the chaos and unrest we have in the country. Immediately after 2011 presidential elections. When yaradua was there, there were no kind of this perpetual bombings in the north here and there because they are comfortable with a northernal ruling.Buhari thinks Nigerians are fools..He thought we have forgotten all the silly statements he has been making and he now wants us to entrust him with power..that will never happen! U are now telling us you will put an end to bokoharam if voted in.u have this idea and u can share with the govt in power to put an end to this incessant killings across the country. Let's give Gej another term to lay things on ground so that incoming govt and continue from that .GOD BLESS NIGERIA!

Politics / Re: Nigeria's Economy Set To Overtake South-Africa's In Two Years by klemony: 3:27pm On Apr 15, 2013
you are right juan.infact, this is what the international institutions like world bank and imf together with the private institutions have been saying that Nigeria economy will supass the South african economy before 2020. I think u're wrong concerning the percentage of SA projected economic growth. it is said to be around 3.6%. Nigeria's economic growth figure had been measure using 1990 has the base year.there will be a shoot-up when its been calculated using 2008 as the base which will matches up with the SA GDP growth.
However,Nigeria still lags behind in terms of development. We are a monoproduct economy with our oil export contributing to 90% of our foreign earnings. SA has other natural resources in which they've nutured that is reviving her economy like shipping, servicing, diamond, tourism, metal works, hides and skins etc.
SA owns companies national and international that its contributing to her economy such like MTN,STANDARD BANK,STANBIC IBTC,STANDARD CHARTERED etc. In Nigeria we only have few like Dangote group and Globalcom that are doing well outside Nigeria. Insecurity is another big problem in Nigeria.Bokoharam in the north and the mend threatning in the south has really cost us alot of FDI.
Also, countries that surrounded south africa were having a relatively peace in thier region while countries that surrounds us like Chad,Mali,Niger,Ivory coast are having a links of terrorist group operating in thier country. moreover,SA has her currency been used by countries like Lesotho,Namibia,Zimbabwe etc that has strengthing their her rand while Nigeria still thinking of how to use a common currency with Ecowas sub-region.

Another issue is the brain drain problem.Nigeria had lost most of her human capital to most of these developed economy like the uk and united states. Most of our doctors, engineers, economist, lawyers, artisans have moved to these countries including south africa for teaching due to unstable economy.

I believed Nigeria will reach her full potential if it can provide a secured enviroment for business to trive and diversify her economy to an export base type. God bless Nigeria !! ! !
