Politics / Re: Let Be Honest, Will Nigeria Ever Be Great Again? by Letdemsay02: 1:56pm On Aug 05
JagabanB:
Nigerians are not a group of people that works for greatness.
The leaders in this country are a perfect reflection of majority of the people.
The leaders see politics as a quick means of making money, that's how the masses see it not as a means to serve or develop your home but to Ioot and go abroad, that's how the masses see it, the fact that the masses complain doesn't mean they are different, it's because they are the ones being affected by the negative attitude of those who got there before them.
Nigeria as a country can't be great until the average Nigerian understands that building a successful society is their responsibility.
Nigerians are always fond of saying "I don't owe anyone anything", not until Nigerians understand that you owe your society alot, greatness will never come, in 20 to 30 years time people who are not in politics today will get into politics and the country will be worse than it is already.
Very true. I just like your contribution. There is something that is fundamentally wrong with some Nigerians sorry to use this words. Even I myself is not excepted. So what could be the problem,is it ignorance, illiteracy or lack of proper foundation in the society.

The best times Nigeria as had were under minority rulers, general Gowon and Jonathan, despite their shortcomings
okay. But I still stand on my ground those tribes can't rule among themselves.

There is no developed black nation. It is not just Nigeria. Black people have something wrong that is hampering her development; either culturally or genetically.
It will likely take us double what it took the whites and Asians to develop. So when you hear that it took Europe 200 years to get there, just prepare for 400 years for black world to get there.
True. But why can't there be an evolution that will change everything about the black man for good. Atlest we were told the first human evolved from the black race and also civilization started from the black race.

babasolution:
There cannot be progress in a country populated by the Hausa, Yoruba and Igbo these people have no glory or greatness.

They can't do anything on their own except helped by whites.

For Nigeria to progress the minority tribes or whites will have to consistently rule it
I will disagree on the minority tribes to rule. Have you lived with minority tribes. Those tribes are the worst in Nigeria. Yes i am from the minority tribes but I will boldly say let the major tribes rule. All those communal crisis like fighting for ownership of land and allocation of big projects where do you think it always comes from. In my state in the neighboring community that my community share boundary with. Crude oil was found on their land and an oil company was built there. Could you imagine the indigenes of that community did not allow others communities surrounding them to work in that company. But their chiefs were selling out slot to other states indigenes. The fight between Ijaw and Itsekiri what do you think is the cause of the fight. Okay look at topolo and asari tokubo that where fighting the Government for the development of Niger Delta states. Today after
Achieving their selfish desires, with the billions they have acquired what are their impact on their communities where they come from.

Nairalandler's please I need your sincere contribution to this question. Why is Nigeria not developing as a nation compare to other nations of the world. Why is Nigeria retrogressing instead of progressing. Apart from Lagos and Abuja. What happen to other states in Nigeria why are they not developing just like Lagos. In 10s,20,50 years time what will be of Nigeria in terms of development.
Short story when I was young may be 10 to 13 years. In my community there is this water board that helps to run clean drinking water all over the community, but today there is nothing like that anymore. I have heard of groundnut pyramid in the north, cotton and some big industries in the North were are they today. All the northerners have rush down to Lagos to do all those jobs like okada riding, security and others menial jobs. In the south we have the cocoa, Rubber plantations, Palm oil plantations and some big industries in each of the state in the south. But today were are they. Those are the big employers of labour. Instead what do have. Our young men are into all types fraud and our girls doing prostitution. And those that had chance to travel out in search of greener pastures could not make it to their destinations. Some are subjected to an inhumane condition. In my early childhood I hear of big cities like binin, warri escravos, Zaria Kano Port Harcourt Onitsha Enugu Ibadan Abeokuta and Aba that are doing well. But today what really happened. Why are those cities dead.
In fact will I going to see a better Nigeria before I die.

Nigerians too stupid I swear. Someone tells you to vote for a competent person but all you think is that Southeast wants to rule. Do regions rule Nigeria? FYI: Southeast doesn't want to rule Nigeria. Southeasterners and other sensible Nigerians only want competent hands to rule Nigeria. Before Peter Obi, many Southeasterners contested to be Nigeria's President but weren't supported by Southeasterners. Nigeria is so horrible because many Nigerians are very stupid like this...
If Peter were well known in the nortt. The way the south massively supported him ,don,t you know He would have been president by now.

I think the Igbos should use this opportunity to align with north on this protest that is on ground. This is not the best time to be neutral. They should take side with the north. This is the time to prove to them, that they are not enemies. I don't know much about politics just that overthinking they worry me.

Family / Lagos Is Not For Everyone by Letdemsay02: 10:01am On Jul 31
Bitter truth for those coming to hustle in a place like Lagos. Better have a rethink now. If you know you don't have a good skill. I mean hand work that can fetch you alot of money just remain where you are please. If you got a job and the salary is below 120,000 pls dey where you dey or else your suffer go long. If you're a struggling guy as in( you never find your feet), beware of any relationship involving broke Lagos girls. The way you dey hustle to make am na so them dey hustle. There's no love in Lagos. Omo dem go use you step up. If you are planning to come to Lagos and you don't have any body to help you.I mean person when go connect you or make things easy for you before you find your feet. Bro jejely stay where you dey oo. Lagos life no be like Nollywood oo I hope you understand. If not, e go clear. You want to come to Lagos and your school cert Ends with NCE ND and HND just know,I don't want to say anything.I'm not here to discourage any one coming to Lagos but before you make that move please have a rethink. The present day Lagos is not like the 70s 80s or 90s.

Romance / Fear Of Checking Account Balance Because Of Hardship by Letdemsay02: 8:46am On Jul 30
Recently with the way things are hard. I have started having phobia for checking my account balance. I mean anytime I received credit alert for my salary payment. I always have this fear of checking my balance. Even when I'm doing transactions with my bank account I don't check balance. There is the pressure that I always have, anytime I wanted to check for balance. The fear of seeing my money going down too quickly. Is not easy now days things are very hard.

how can you feed on 30000 for a month. Here in Lagos 60000 can't feed you properly in a month. I don't know how you want do am follow either cooking your own food or eating out. Only gas and cooking of soup once that money done half.

Lagos is a no man's land...
Don't be shy....
Since you have no helper, don't collect loan ...
From your salary, no matter what, save at least 10k monthly for like 5 months, amounting to 50k...
The look for what to sell...
Start small..
No look anybody face...
Even if it's Hawking just do it...
The street is not nice...
thanks bro. I like this advice. The factory work has done alot of damages to my health.

It is very easy to lose money in side hustle without any skill. Skills are never taught in our universities.
I will advise to spend money to acquire skills. Very important. That was what I did and it paid off big time. This month, I made about $10k in side hustle. I have about N1.4m naira that I may return back as I do not even have enough time to meet client's needs and they already paid into my Naira account.
My side hustle has been incorporated and in one year from now, I will be working full time in my company with staffs working for me both home and abroad.

You see, this involves a process of understanding yourself first and then learning a skill that compliments your ability and personality.
Thank you for this advice. I have spent years doing morning and night shifting. I don't really have much time for other things or I'm too lazy to learning any skills.

Before you talk of business, I have a pertinent question for you?

What skills do you have to solve a real live problem people can pay you for?

This is your starting point other wise, you may end up losing the 400k and be worse off than where you are now.

Once again, what skills do you have?
I don't have any skill that is while I came here for an advice. There are some hustle that don't require that much skills but just need a mentor that can put you through.
