Politics / Re: Why We Published Ayo Fayose’ S ‘ Death’ Advert On Buhari – The Sun by Mofella: 11:58am On May 08, 2015
This is a shameless defence, whatever the case may be such should not have been taken into consideration, for your information Mr editor you did not water anything down, you only petroled it down, those actions of yours was not professional in anyway and in developed countries someone in your shoes would have resigned for the purpose of integrity and a good name. So we will not take your so-called senseless defence.

Emblem: Hello Everyone,

It was nice to be part of this great forum. My B1/B2 visa was approved today. I am so grateful to God and to everyone that contribute to this thread. @tzetzefly is an amazing guy. At a point i felt he works at the embassy...lol. The questions from the VO was all centered around my friend that invited me and also about my job. The big white guy at window 9 didn't grant visa to anyone throughout the entire 1hr:20mins i spent at the embassy

Interview Venue: Lagos.
Interview Time: 8:30am(But got to my turn like 10am)

VO: Good moring Mr Bleep (With a smile)
Me: Good moring sir.
Vo: I can see you are going to houston, Texas. why?
Me: I am going to spend my annual leave with my friend since i couldn't make it to his wedding last year due to my busy schedule.
Vo: what is your friends name?
Me: His name is blah blah
Vo: How long have you been friends?
Me: Since i was a kid. We are childhood friends.
Vo: So Are u married?
Me: I am married.
Vo: I can see u are going alone, why isn't ur wife going with u?
Me: She just a new job and she isn't entitled to a leave yet.
Vo: When did you marry?
Me: 3 months ago (June)
Vo: Any kids?
Me: Not yet.
Vo: So tell me about your job, u sounded like a busy person (That was a green light for me. lol)
Me: I am a System Administrator for XYZ Company.
Vo: What is your job role?
Me: A,B,C,D...........
VO: What is the staff strenght of your office?
Me: 200 in Nigeria.
Vo: So u've got other branches?
Me: We are located in 11 countries.
Vo: Great (Another green light for me....)So tell me what your friend does and where he works?
Me: blah blah
Vo: How old is your friend? (I knw i am a year older than my friend but at that point the issue was that i forgot my own age for some seconds b4 i later did my calculations.....lol)
Me: He is XX years old.

The white guy smiled at me and said " Congratulations, your visa has been approved, you can pick up your visa on.........."

Its all God because i really can't xplain. There are people that have more genuin reasons for going to the US but yet got denied. Imagine, a wife of a VC of a University was denied, a sick laddy limping was denied.

NB: Pls maintain eye contact, be confident answer questions without .........."ehm", "ehn".....Above all, Pray to God for favour. Thanks T

God bless you all.

@ Emblem....... Pls were u asked if you've travelled before? if asked, what was your response.

@Mofella tnx 4 ur reply. So u think am good to go, even with no travel history? Can i add my shaes certificates as ties to Nigeria too.

@ Floralgal ...You can surely go with no travel history, there are a lot of testimonies to that.

As regards your share certificates, that is not in anyway a tie, you can be anywhere in the world and receive dividends on your shares and even sell the shares,so its not a tie.

A good job and Husband should be sufficient.

tayoamos: i was granted a visiting visa 3 months ago ( 2 years multiple), and i went to the usa for the purpose for which i requested for the visa, spent just 7 days there before i returned. now, my wife and 2 kids,( ages 2 and 4) are desiring to attend a wedding in the usa next year June, and i will be going with them. how do we go about filling the ds-160 and paying the visa fee ?
1) do we fill their ds-160 forms seperately, remember the kids are ages 2 and 4
2) do we pay the same visa fee for all of them? FEE OF 27,200 each?
3) can i follow them for the interview, to speak for them?
4) should we tell the VO i will be following them to the USA for the wedding? or i tell the VO i will stay back in nigeria (as a tie back home), while they go, OR will i sound well i tell the VO i will be going with them ?........... we have just 7 days to spend there while we all return back
pls help

Each person regardless of age is an individual, so u have to fill separate forms for your children and pay the stipulated fee for each one of them. Your children will definitely not be interviewed considering their ages, there is an age limit which I really can't remember now but definitely around 12 years old thereabout,so your wife can stand in d gap for them.

As regards you convincing the VO your ties back home,
let other people advice u on that.

floralgal: @justwise @tzetzefly............Keep up with the good works.

Going to apply for a visit visa, but got no travel history. What are my chances.
i work with a reputable financial organisation in lagos, runnning a personal event company too. Total in my account like #3million.
An invitation letter from my only sibling. and will also be using an hotel reservation(going to another state too).
My annual leave approval letter, An introduction letter from my work place, My employment letter( showing my salary breakdown).
My tax id card and company id card.
My event company registration certificate.
Am married.(no kids)
Please wat do you think are my chances because i got no travel history. Am a very busy person, and not so interested in travelling.
Thnks. God bless

You will not need any document, though it is wise to go with them but trust me its just an interview of 2-3 mins, all you need is God + fill with wisdom and be extremely conversant with your DS-160 form and lastly prove that you have strong ties to Nigeria. That's all

Note: I have come to realize from people's testimony on Nairaland that Married women stand better chances of being successful at the interview than married men, reason being that for the Women, their husband is already a strong tie to Nigeria so the women will come back home to their Husband but for the Men, their wives are no ties because when they get there story may change and it will not take them anything to arrange another over there.................. But please note that i stand to be corrected.

keni: Hello tzetzefly,

You are doing a really good Job here, as regards Maddock's question, is South Africa and Dubai not enough travel experience because I have read through out this thread that it (Lack of travel experience) might be a reason for refusal.

@Maddock is there a way you can share with the house transcript from the successfull applicant in your group? from all I have read so far in this forum, you meet all the criteria but I think that transcript from the successful ones may throw more light into the thinking of the official

Yes, i share similar view with Keni, let us have the transcript of the two that were successful, from this one will be able to point at the grey areas.

Quite a lot. A virgin passport so to say, does not prevent a visa issuance. A lack of home ties does.

Many thanks bro, i really appreciate.

tzetzefly:

She can apply with her maiden name.

The newspaper publication will suffice.

Any other info required, she should be able to explain to the CO.

Since she has her ties intact, she will be good to go.

@ Tzetzefly..... thanks a lot for your response am extremely grateful. God bless you in all areas of your life in Jesus Name.. Amen

What is your question?

@ Tzetzefly .........Pls I need your urgent advise . my wife and my daughter who is1yr 2 months old will be going for interview in Us embassy Lagos this month, my wife is a pharmacist and earns good pay while I work with a foremost financial institution, but none of us have travelled before, my wife got her passport before we got married and she has her maiden name on her passport which is not expiring any time soon, my daughter has my own name as her surname on her own passport and it's only d two of them(my wife and daughter) that will be going for the interview. Pls will news paper publication for change of name for my wife be a sufficient evidence to show she is the mother or does she need to go and get a new passport to reflect her marital name? Despite d fact that her passport is not expiring anytime soon.
