Politics / ITSEKIRI BLASTS Jonathan:visit To The Olu Of Warri Will Not Save You,unless... by olaweey: 2:40am On Jan 25, 2015
By Emma Amaize
WARRI Study Group, WSG, an influential Itsekiri group in Delta State, yesterday, insisted that President Goodluck Jonathan’s surprise visit to the Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse II, on Friday, would not stop Itsekiri and other ethnic nationalities in the Niger-Delta from voting against him if he did not perform the groundbreaking of the $16 billion Export Processing Zone, EPZ, Ogidigben, before next month’s presidential election.
Chairman of WSG, Mr. Edward Ekpoko, told Sunday Vanguard, “We are amazed that he told the Olu that he would perform the groundbreaking ceremony before the end of Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s administration. What has the tenure of Uduaghan’s administration got to do with the EPZ groundbreaking, he should not tie it to Uduaghan administration, which is clearly misleading?”
“Our position is that he should do the groundbreaking before the February 14 presidential elections, otherwise, he will lose not just Itsekiri votes, but the votes of other ethnic nationalities in the region, which are angry with his style of doing things.”
He reiterated that that the EPZ project would create thousands of jobs for unwaged Niger-Deltans and Nigerians, and wondered why a president, who claimed he was concerned about the unemployment problem in the country, would delay the groundbreaking of such a job-spinning project because his Ijaw kinsmen at Gbaramatu kingdom kicked against it.
Ekpoko, who lamented that the groundbreaking had suffered three postponements allegedly in pursuit of “unstainable Ijaw objections/agenda,” said the president has inexplicably ignored the benefits of the projects to other Nigerians.
His words, “The project will be of immense benefits to thousands of youths from Ijaw, Itsekiri, Urhobo, Ibo, Isoko and indeed, other Nigerians facing severe employment and Jonathan should not tie it to his election on February 14.”
Politics / Re: INEC Can Not Disqualify Buhari - Jega by olaweey: 9:28am On Jan 22, 2015
When did pdp turn to inec to speak on wether Buhari is qualified or not to vie for the post of presidency..The body incharge of saying whether a candidate is qualified or not as said that he is qualified.
Also, for previous elections, this was not an issue because PDP was sure they would win,but now,the game as changed,Nigerians are wiser. And PDP is afraid,scared..
Also it is a shame that of all the happenings in the country, this certificate ish is making front page of newspapers, when there are other things to be looked at,such as the oil price, subsidy theft, importation of ammunitions by individual for reasons known to God,terrorism and how the goverment wants to tackle or what the goverment is doing to tackle it.probably it is when shekau drops another bomb, that nigerians the president will stop this politiking and face his duty of protecting lives and property.
As for fayose,he did not spend almost 20 million to console those who lost their lives to the boko haram saga in the north,or to the parents of the chibok girls, rather he spent millions to secure a front page insult on dead respected leaders of the northerners.the peoples democratic party dissociated themselves from the insult and death threat churned out by their brother..President jonathan went to kastina after fayose,a PDPian insulted Umar Musa Yaradua,a prominent leader among the people of katsins and expected that he woukd not be stoned forgetting that the hausas so much respect their leaders..Now APC as condenmed this act,and the PDP says its the APC's fault. Is it the APC's fault that one of you insulted their leaders and they retaliated..Orisirisi

No doubt that you are right about what you wrote, but if millions of people doubt the people from PDP,its not because they were paid to do so,its not because they have a personal vendetta against PDP,afterall they gave PDP 4 years of linning up at polling centres to vote them into power. Its because the PDP has disappointed..Human beings by default have preference for new things, people are trying to see what APC has to offer..even though some are of the opinion that Apc is pdp but recycled.I don't know if you'll agree with me,but the APC candidates do a good job,and also some of the PDP governors.Don't blame People if they don't see anything good with what pdp does..They've been given 16 years...and now we're kinda at the same spot...

To all APC supporters that are saying that Buhari is the change we need, what did he do when he was there 22yrs ago..he was busy jailing people( Dr Ekueme, fela and his brother, Jim nwobodo Ojukwu etc) and killing people( Emmanuel ogodegbe and his friends) for crimes that did not deserve capital sentence. And to u all saying he can stop BH, are u all indirectly saying that he is their leader, and so when he enters he wll tell them to cease fire. Its time we all go back and read our history notes well and get ourselves more informed

Politics / Fashola To Jonathan-"you,not My Generation Failed" by olaweey: 8:27am On Jan 14, 2015
resident Jonathan and Gov Babatubde Fashola of Lagos
According to him, “He is in his 50s, I am also in my 50s, and we appear to be, because I don’t even want to join that generation because my own generation has not failed, I have done well on my job and I am proud to say so. If he has failed, let him account for himself, he should not join us”.

Fashola described the present administration as “A failed government that has lost total focus. Seven years ago, they started with Vision 2020 but later they said that they are transforming. And all these have yielded no result. And that was why they have stopped working.

On Boko Haram
He lamented that the situation in the North-East region of the country was pathetic because citizens have become refugees in their father land due to the inability of the present administration to tame the Boko Haram insurgency.

“And rather than the President using the recent campaign in Lagos to gain the support of the citizens the president was busy telling you they tried to kill him four years ago and we did not know. That is a serious national security issue because nobody wants our Commander in Chief dead. If anybody tries to kill him, we should have known. And if I was Commander in Chief, and the person who tries to kill me is in a South African jail, I will ask that he should be repatriated to Nigeria to come and face punishment.

“He (Jonathan) also claimed that General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) didn’t buy arms in 1985. And after Buhari left office, the Nigeria army got recognition for their role in protecting West Africa and was the guns bought 30 years ago be effective to fight today’s insurgency.”

Fashola added that President Jonathan made the statements to gain the sympathy of the electorate and woo them ahead of the presidential election.

He said: “In 2011, it was no shoes, now he is saying they tried to kill him, it won’t work this time. This time it is the job record, the promise that you must look at”.

u are definitely a PDP....because I am a lagosian, I live at okeaarin, not far from balogun market. The fire started at around 3 a.m,we called the Lagos state fire service, because that's the only functioning fire service, the federal one seems to be nonexistent....they came as soon as possible to put out the fire..
The reason why the fire was hard to put out is because of the location of the plaza,to get to the location, you have to demolish the shops along the path, for those who have been to balogun,u'll realise that the shops are close,a "keke napep" will have to squeeze through....lagos state goverment has been very proficient .the question to ask is how come the shop owners in balogun get careless, this is not the first plaza that will be razed,(the other ones didn't butn so much because of the quick intervention of the lagos state government.fashola is a good governor,no matter how much you try to stain him,he has performed better than the president of this country..I know u'll attack me,but don't worry,I totally understand, opening a closed eyes with a blade hurts, but if you want to see again you have to endure...

NOTE ALSO THAT more than 60% of the State &
National Assembly Candidates are also all former
PDP members!
Let me not also forget to state that AUDU OGBE,
APC's chieftain was a former Chairman of PDP
(2001-2005).
Do I also need to mention Atiku Abubakar?
Or Rotimi Ameachi who was a PDP Speaker of
Rivers state Assembly for 8 Years then Governor
for 7 years?
The list goes on and on.
If PDP wasted and stole our time and resources
for the past 16 years, my dearest citizens, the
names listed above and many more are part of
these bunch of criminals who stole and wasted
these our resources. They were and are part of
the people who lied and lie to us.
My people, YES! We want change, but if I am a
thief in Agbada, would wearing a Nnyika make me
not to be a thief? Would I stop being a thief
because I changed gang?
Some of us will always argue that the states
controlled by these thieves are better than the
others, but let me ask: Did Ameachi do all he did
for Rivers in the past 1 year that he became a
memebr of the APC? Was it last year that APC
was formed that the transformations in KANO
took place or began? Was it APC's Government
that did the stuffs in IMO?
Dearest Citizens, for 16 years we have been
under the PDP's Umbrella. Yes, but which person
in this APC has not been in the corridor or close
to the coridor of power in these past 16 years?
Not only am I so disapointed in us as citizens, I
am ashamed to be a part of this generation. We
revolved & continue to revolve aroung the same
group of people since Independence yet we seem
to be comfortable with it.
If they're saints as they claim, we wouldnt be
where we are today.
Do I need to start mentioning their names and
potfolios?
If I cant mention all, at least I know for a fact that
as far back as 1982, Audu Ogbe was not only a
speaker of his state assembly, he also was a
Minister in Nigeria. Infact, he held two ministerial
positions.
I also know without doubt that Gen Buhari apart
from being a PTF Chairman, rose to become the
President of Nigeria as far as 1983.
Very resently, Atiku Abubakar was an 8 years
Vice President.
I cant believe that at 72 some one who was
President at 41 wants to be president again.
I cant also come to term with my self when ever I
read that Gen Yakubu Gowan was about 23 years
old when he became Nigerias President. Well, I
am above 23 now and I cant even feed myself.
My dearest citizens of the Republic, do we
continue rotating our leaders and expect to move
forward? Do we expect to be in 2015 and have
some one who ruled us decades ago rule us?
As a child, I heard of Shehu Musa Yar'dua. As a
teenager, I had Umaru Musa Yar'dua rule me as
president. When do I see Taofeek Olanipekun be
my president? When do I see a 31 year old Daniel
Jaja, Yaqoob Akaaba, James Edafe, Mutiat Oyali
e.t.c be governors or senator or even ministers?
Dearests, Gen Martin Luther Agwai, the former
Chief of Army Staff is now the Chairman of SURE-
P.
David Mark, former governor of 2 different states
is today our Senate President. Tomorow, if PDP
no longer favours him, he will join forces with APC
or which ever party there is.
We are where we are today because our fathers
failed in their reponsibilities to plan for us. Are we
going to let our children suffer what we suffer by
allowing these people rotate offices among
themselves?
Whether we like it or not, Buhari as a former
president recieves a Pension of 22.7 million.
Whether you like it or not, when Jonathan
completes his tenure, he will also recieve his
millions as pension and the cycle will continue.
One thing is sure, if Jonathan retains his
presidency next year, he will not employ me in
his government. One thing is also sure, if Buhari
wins, he will not employ you in his government.
Who will they then employ? Ofcourse, they will
employ the same old crooks to help them out.
This is not Change, APC is not change. When we
see change, we go know!
God Bless Your Hearts!
