@poster and her likes
NOTE!
Your so called civilization is incomplete until
1. You start calling your dad and mum by their first names
2. You (compulsorily) instruct your children to call you and your husband by their your first names
3. Call your father and mother in-laws by their first names
4. Call even elders to your spouses by their first names
5. Call other members of your spouses family and extended families (even those older than your parent in-laws) by their first names
6. PERMIT your children to talk to you and say dad or mum "ARE YOU silly OR ARE YOU GOING CRAZY THIS DAYS?", then you simply answer the child "NO SON, I AM NOT silly"
7. Your children replies you whenever you abuse them like (you are not serious and your child replies something must be wrong with you mum)
8. Your children reports you to the police for not buying them bikes (which policeman in naija will wait to slap to slap the child?)
9. You slap your husband and he rubs his cheeks and say thanks then walk away
10. Divorce your husband and get a 50/50 share of his properties in Africa or Naija

The points are endless. Until you do all of these, you have no say at all (and you are a hypocrite) cos you cant do some parts of your culture and do some parts of the whites'. You will rather belong to one. Or have you seen a white man who want to behave like you and still maintain his culture? No! White men are no hypocrites smiley

What a fool!! shocked shocked
What has kneeling got to do with gods or idols and surprisingly you believe in hell fire while you forget that even Jesus never disobeyed the law of any land during his ministry. Oh! I have measured your mentality, speak english, get a white collar job and be sacked then come back home with nothing to fall back on and start crying,  embarassed Eating kolanut has nothing to do with education, people still eat it till tomorrow cos its natural herbs.

Havent you been told how people used to trade their stocks, leave a couple of stones or sticks to signify the cost of the product and the seller goes else where but whne he comes back, his products would have been sold and money completely there without a police until the white men came to take our uncherished cultural heritages and left us with what we cant manage.

All the same, civilization is not bad but it shouldnt derive you of your culture cos the white men who brought civilization actually defends their culture!! There is no land without a culture or tradition, it is the culture of the white men to shake and that is what they do.

uhm *cough* *cough* errrm, i think slyfoxxjoe was being err errr sarcastic. You guys are on the same side of this debate.

urfather. izit your bizness if i choose not to belittle myself infront of mere mortals. if u dont know all these your so called "traditions" have fetish and primitive origins. that white man has come to our land to open our eyes but some fo.ols like u choose to remain blind. as for me, only God can bring me to my knees or to postrate. no man and i repeat NO MAN can do that.not my father or least of all my wifes family. respect can be shown in more civilized manners.

Statements like these are dangerous o. You better pray you dont meet with situation that will force you to kneel or prostrate. hmm

While millions of Nigerians are scattered all over the world seeking passports of developed nations, people from other parts of the world are working hard to earn the green passport. The irony of life Sad

Just goes to show the old saying, doesn't matter how bad you think your situation is, someone else is probably having it much worse!

Nigeria is "abroad" for some other folks.

Yes, it is possible if we can also crack down guys that do juvenile runs and who sleep around not protecting themselves when they are not ready to take the responsiblity of having a child.

I agree.

The laws on underaged sex needs to be more aggressively enforced. Most people who would sleep with a girl are shameless older men who can afford to give these girls chump change to go find an abortion center inorder to preserve their secret.

forpeace:

That he completed the big projects after approving additional funds doesnt make him a saint. .i can list over 20 road contracts in rural areas that have been abandoned outrightly and the people left to rot and wallow in their poverty

I didn't call him a saint. But you seem to be criticising him for doing two opposite things. First you accuse him of only completing Tinubu's projects - as if that's a bad thing. Then in the very next sentence you accuse him of stalling on Tinubu's projects.

My point sir, is that even if you have fair criticisms of the man and his performance (and you may have a case in this lagos-ibadan accident issue), your intellectual dishonesty makes it difficult for people to take you seriously.

desgiezd:

Finally, we now know where you are coming from.

Jimi Agbaje had a vibrant campaign in 2007 when he contested for the governorship election, why dont you advise him to tread the same path this time instead of this your un-ending criticisms that do not hold water.

Well said
Politics / Re: The Prodigal Sons Of Abuja by omofat: 10:47am On Aug 19, 2010
Mr Momodu has now found his voice in criticising Goodluck's village. When he went there to cover the funeral, he didn't say anything about the bad state of the village o. Infact, he showed us pictures of the nice areas of the place and the nice house he now berrates.

I could never have imagined how quickly human beings can transfigure into a state of apparition.

You don't have to imagine it sir, you are the master of such transfigurations.

And really what does Obj have to do with the article? - Why does this man always have to name drop someone who is at best tangential to the story? - I guess we should atleast be grateful he didn't reel out the man's entire names plus those not on his birth certificate too.

How people continue to take this dude seriously is beyond me  sad.
Politics / Re: Brf On Lagos Ibadan. .deception Unveiling Itself by omofat: 9:04am On Aug 19, 2010
At the beginning of his government he was clever to rush and complete a lot of tinubu's projects which took 8years of sweat, commitment and money. .such projects including BRT , LASUTH new wards, lasu-rd,itire-okota bridge etc. .These rush completions from another person's sweat blood and tears earned him the present goodwill, jaded and misconceived love he is currently enjoying from lagosians.

Go round lagos and you would see that all construction inherited from tinubu have all been stopped

Bros, confusion dey break bone o. You need to make up your mind whether he rushed to complete all Tinubu's projects or he stopped all of them.

Politics / Re: Pdp Caucus: Zoning Stays ! by omofat: 6:00pm On Aug 13, 2010
You clearly don't like goodluck which is okay. You keep using this "do-or-die" phrase as if people are supposed to suddenly see monsters when they think of goodluck. Quit being so dramatic please.

Now back to the issue, PDPs constutition is in direct contradiction with the Federal constitution, in which case the Federal constitution wins.

However, the PDP folks say this zoning thing is a gentleman's agreement between members and they should be honor bound to keep it. Fair enough.

Since nobody can really stop anybody from contesting, the sensible thing is for well meaning members to find means of sidetracking the errant members (those violating whatever agreements they have).

To simplify, if Jonathan's running goes against PDPs internal agreements, they (PDP) can put up an opponent against him and then vote for the opponent as their party's flagbearer. Jonathan would then have to stand down, switch to another party or run as an independent.

Please stop being so over the top with this dictatorial/do-or-die nonsense.
Politics / Re: Pdp Caucus: Zoning Stays ! by omofat: 10:51am On Aug 13, 2010
@Gbawe - I dont really get your point.

Why can't Jonathan compete? - The nigerian constitution allows him to. No?
Obj wanted to change the federal constitution. Not the same thing.

If pdp dont like him, they can run someone against him in the party primary, no?
And if he's as unpopular as you say, then he will lose the primary and someone else will be the party's flag bearer.

So what's the problem really ?

In countries where homosexualism is not a crime, they have managed to procreate with ease. Why would it be any different here?

People decide to be celibate and nobody talks about 'wilful destruction of the society'!

Accept it, it's not procreation that's your grouse with homosexuality. It's not that it's a 'crime' either! I think it's in our nature to think less of people that are somehow different from us. It's called double standard and hypocricy at it's best!

You are trying to reason with a rather extremist bunch. You will do well to steer clear of reasoned arguments. Only emotion works in these circles
