@ Akolawole
The sponsor still remains the father right from the initial application on paper in Nigeria till date.No changes.

No he did not get a study leave to do the Msc,he got his student visa in 2004.

He is applying now because he would get marrried in June ending,in nigeria and he intends to apply immediately for his wife.

The accomodation is one bed room apartment,well its a bargain ,with all modesty.

How wld the sponsor (father) support the application?What does he have to do?

Yes the course wld finish in 60 days from lets say july,but should that be a problem?

What other should be included in the application?

Thanks

Here we go;

1) You need to give a little bit of info regarding your initial visa application in Nigeria.
   Why?
    At times ECO will recall your embassy's application to check few things eg
    (a) your original Sponsor, i am not sure if the Sponsor on "paper" is still the same person
    (b) whether you initially get a study leave to do that Msc

2) WHY DID YOU WAIT TILL JULY WHEN YOU KNEW THE COURSE FINISHES in 2 months?

3) £420 for one bedroom flat or Studio flat in london ?
    If its one bed, that must be a bargain.
  By and Large the accomodation requirement  is fulfilled

4) In my own opinion, your sponsor must support the application but my major worry is the course finishing in 60 days.

@LC and all
Just some little clarification from you.
What happens if the student is been sponsored by his father,who sends money regularly to him via local money transfer from Nigeria to UK,the student collects the money and then pays it in into his own uk account which will show cash paid in consistently.This student is not working,so his limited 20hrs does not show on his statement at all.

He intends to bring his newly wedded wife into the UK,his programme finishes by sept 2007,and his LTR expires by jan 2008,obviously he is doing a specialist advanced professional masters programme(Msc Analysis and intervention in intellectual and developmental disabilities)Msc full time,and he is currently doing a clinical placement with a community learning disability team somewhere in south east london,though its unpaid and its part of the academic structure and requirement b4 september 2007.(Obviously he wld be retained by the NHS and work for them, though this wld not be known to the ECO in lagos)

Does he stand a good chance provided he presents all documents as required by the immigration rules as to the student dependant visa.He got a one bedroom apartment for £420 per mth,with a month deposit stated on the tenancy agreement.

Is his bank statement enough to present to the ECO when he intends to apply come july 2007 or will he need to prove the origin or source of funds which he utilizes in his living expenses in the UK.

what do u feel can be done to address this anticipated issue

@showbaby

Travel / Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by omojeje: 12:24am On May 25, 2007
@VOR
The tribunal has sent a noitice of pending appeal to me and a copy to the ECO to file in all the documents used in making a decision on my application by the 6th of august.
progress i guess?

shobaby,
sorry about the refusal.if i may ask the following question:
-how old is your husband
-how old are you
-what course is your husband studying
-why did you submit all your documents as a caterer
-did your husband submit his bank statements
-if yes how much was the balance
-is your husband currently doing any job in coventry
-did you include your marriage pictures and certificate
-did your husband write an invitation letter to you
-why a two-bedroom apartment for a student,and if so how much is the rent per month
-why did you submit your bank statements,as they require your husband's statement,he has to care for you(you are depending on him)

shobaby,lets start from here,you have a good ground if this questions are answered properly.

Not been rude,but I know I have not removed the speck in my own eye as well.But it beats my imagination when people who have purpotedly applied for a UK student visa make silly and unpardonable grammatical errors on this thread.Though its quite an informal medium of communicating and sharing ideas,opinions and what have you,but nevertheless,I wonder how such applicants might have filled in their application forms for thec ECO to view.

Please I feel embarrased as some people dont know what they want and take UK Visa with all levity,soliciting for scrupulous sponsors.

@mrpataki,
well done,good reply.

I saw your email.I will reply you asap.

Looking my present circumstances as stated earlier on,how can I rebut the reasons for refusal?
what other documents can my sponsor add to supplement the application.

Thanx

check your email as well
Travel / Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by omojeje: 12:02am On May 02, 2007
Thanx.
The sponsor has provided the following in the refused application:

wema bank statement- about N9.3 MILLION with bankers letter stating d sponsor as the sole signatory
ecobank statement - about N400,000 with bankers letter stating d sponsor as the sole signatory
registration of business name
sponsor letter
share certificates
land documents with C of O
tax clearance cert
Value added tax cert
fixed deposit letter (ecobank N800,000)
certificate of business registration
end of year reports and accounts (from chartered accountant) 2003,2004,2005
land registration documents

And also remember that d coy is not a limited company.

The the sponsor has stated in his sponsor's letter to the ECO that he does not have a personal account in his name based on security reasons and the bank has confirmed availability of funds through the bank letter.

Now dont you feel the ECO has really erredbased on his remarks,comments in the refusal letter.

Now what am saying is that what ground do I appeal,as my the ECO cannot determine if the funds will be availalbe or nor,and the sponsor can decide what to do with his money.

Tuition fee-£3,900
deposit paid-£600
Balance-£3,300

Accomodation- already sorted (to live with the sponsor's son who is my first cousin,which has reduced the expenses)-documents were submitted to ascertain this.

I need to prepare an appeal letter.

I need contributions pls

@VOR

Yes,i remembered u mentioned it,but the company is not a LTD coy,so i did ignore it as you said.

what is the next step,as I believe reapplying shows I am not confident on my documents to face scrutiny @ AIT in UK.They could refuse it again,av lost confidence in them,the contextual expression of the ECO in the refusal letter was not straight forward,he kept on beating around the bush,and repeating the same thing,haven known my case is genuine and meet the requirements of paragraph 57.

VOR,what next?

Also this is my second refusal and all things been equal 'cetaris paribus',I would like to appeal the refusal.

Pls cld u shed more light.

The bank statement was in my sponsor's company name,with a letter from the two banks stating that he is the sole signatory to the accounts.

How do i go about the appeal based on the single ground i was been refused.

Thanx.
Travel / Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by omojeje: 7:21pm On Apr 28, 2007
This is the refusal letter.

UKvisas and the BDHC Lagos provides information to visa applicants about the types of documents they will be required to produce so that they can demonstrate to the visa officer that they meet the requirements of the immigration rules.We advise applicants that the failure to submit such documentation may result in refusal of the application.This decision has been made on the basis of the evidence you have supplied.The onus is on applicants to demonstrate that they meet the requirements of the relevant rules.You have declared that the information you have provided is complete and true to the best of your knowledge.

You have applied for an entry clearance to the United kingdom as a student and have completed an additional questionnaire to assist your application.I have carefully considered your application on the basis of your passport,application form,supplementary questionnaire and the papers you have provided.It has not been necessary to interview you in order to reach a decision.In considering your application overall,I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities,that you meet the requirements of paragraph 57 of the immifration rules HC395.

You state that the cost of your tuition,maintenance and accomodation is to be borne by your uncle MR LAGBAJA AND TAMEDU, As evidence of his funds you have submitted a business bank statement.No evidence has been provided of regular income and outgoing or financial committments of your sponsor;nor is there any evidence that the funds in the business bank account would be available for purposes other than that of the business.I am not satisfied,therefore that these funds will be made available to pay for your private studies in the UK as required by paragraph 57(vi) of HC 395.

Following careful consideration of the documentary evidence provided,I am not satisfied on the balance of probabilities that you are able to meet the cost of the course and maintain and accomodate yourself without recourse to full time employment or public funds as required by paragraph 57(vi) HC 395.

I therefore refuse your application.

That is the refusal letter.

What do I do next.Where do i stsrt from?

thanx

It is needed as soon as possible.

Travel / Re: Uk Visa - Visa Appeal Process by omojeje: 11:50pm On Apr 27, 2007
He also mentioned paragraph 57 was not met and he was not satisfied on the balance of probabilites,because he is not satisfied that my sponsor is the sole signatory to the statement of account he submitted as evidence of funds.

I will type the full text on nairaland 2morow and explain my circumstance here on this thread.I dont have the refusal letter with me here.

cheers

It continues to beat my imagination why some people who use fake bank statements to secure a student visa at the british embassy are successful while those who use genuine bank statements are been turned.Mind you,I am not generalizing hastily,but I have seen recent situations especially this month and the last where 5 people I know got their student visa with a fake bank statements, and 3 people as well got turned down the ECO saying that there inconsistencies and anormarlies in the statement of account.

Any view on this.
