Politics / Re: List 5 Important Things That Will Make Lagos Work And Develop - Lagos For Us ALL by Peinstein: 6:34pm On Jul 05, 2019 |
Fhemmmy: Already they use generators, which is quite expensive to run. Since it's a hub (say for furniture making) of about 50 artisans, the electricity cost is lesser per artisan. With the added benefit of machines and other equipments being available, and benefiting from the ecosystem with access to market, they will find it as a cheaper alternative. They just need to pay a certain fee per month, like we do with co-working spaces. |

Create hubs for artisans. Carpenters, furniture makers, tailors, and more. In the hubs there should be provision of electricity, modern equipments which ordinarily they wouldn't be able to afford, and a working space. More like a mini-factory so many artisans in the same industry can work from. There used to be this Cane village in Maryland. They had many talented artisans who made wonderful handmade cane furniture. Not sure if they still exist. I always imagined how more productive they could be if they had modern equipments which they could all use in turns, and constant electricity to power the equipments for 24hrs. Their production capacity will be increased, their works will be more detailed (with help of machines), and they can even consider exporting their creative works Such a hub will reduce their cost of production, increase their profits and they would still afford to sell items at a lower cost. Tech hubs made significant impact in the community we have for tech entrepreneurs in Lagos today. Fashion hubs are also coming up and making impact in the fashion industry. However this artisans hub could do more, as they address a productive arm of the society that normally doesn't enjoy much government support, little financial support from banks, among other benefits they are denied. |

Properties / Re: Own A Beautiful Solar Powered 4-bedroom Duplex With Less Than 12m by Peinstein: 11:10am On Mar 03, 2018 |
You should compare apples with apples. The OP is talking about a duplex. Sure you can do your analysis with a bungalow, but definitely not with a duplex. Even 4m for a decent bungalow still depends a lot on your definition of "decent" The only reason 12m works for a duplex is because it is a container house. Otherwise with the current cost of building materials and cost of doing a good foundation, you will end up spending far more if you go the route of traditional construction. Perfecttouch: 2 Likes |

OP like some people doesn't know the difference between foreign exchange earnings and GDP. Even agriculture accounts for a bigger percentage of our GDP than oil. Throwback: 2 Likes |

Warship: I can help with the "market". They simply call it "Kasunwa" if I remember correctly. Can't remember others. They share some words with other Nigerian languages. I was familiar with some words there that had similar meanings with Yoruba's. But those similarities are so few and far that I saw them as mere coincidences |

Politics / Re: The Cry Of Igala People In Anambra State(igala Plight In Igbo State) by Peinstein: 7:51am On Jul 13, 2017 |
Nigeria indeed has ethnic groups dispersed across several states, only few states are homogenous. However I want to correct your assertion that Obi people in Nasarawa are Igbo's. I don't know about how they came about that name, but it is not a hard thing to find names in other areas similar to what you have in other well defined ethnic groups. Obi people in Nasarawa are not Igbo. The Igbo people there are migrants. Obi people are just like their brothers in Jenkwe, Ayaragu, Awe all belong to the ethnic groups normally shared between Nasarawa and Plateau and a few local ones. If you have your doubts meet with the emir or obi. His palace is not too far from the main bus stop in Obi. While you have IBO people there selling their items like provisions as they do in other areas, they all return home to the east during Xmas and new year. In fact it would be difficult for you to get some provisions during this period as the Igbo's who normally sell it would have returned to their towns in the east for the yuletide. Don't define a people's culture by the name of their town. Danzakidakura: 3 Likes |

Quite informative. I think it had been effected since last year or much later. My Rwandan friends once told me last year that they didn't need their passports to enter some east African countries. Or are they just making it official? |
Romance / Re: GIRLS - The RIGHT WAY To Play Hard To Get by Peinstein: 12:27pm On Sep 12, 2016 |
And this is how you end up confusing ladies. Green light. ... Red light light .... Blue light ... Until the guy thinks you are merely wasting his time and finds something better to do with his time. I think we live in a more direct world nowadays; if you love him, observe him and give him a yes or no answer. A player who knows his game would keep chasing a lady while he has other ladies as backup to keep him busy while "latest" lady decides. It is most likely the guy who has good intentions that would get tired of the back and forth of colour-inspired moods and decide to move on. 1 Like |

I think you should remove her image except you are convinced she is a scammer and you just want to expose her. I believe conversations you make with people through chats shouldn't be made known publicly especially if it is a private discussion. For all you know she might be on Nairaland too and might be surprised to see her image here. Just google her name, I am sure you get something about her background. 2 Likes |
Politics / Re: Newyear Unterrupted Power Supplied For More Than 8hours. by Peinstein: 9:03am On Jan 02, 2014 |
Well observed OP. Unfortunately, even few years ago, 8 hours of interrupted power supply was a norm in my area and on new year's day you could have it all without a moment of darkness. The fact that we now celebrate 8hours on new year's day shows how "transformed" our recent experience of power supply has been. 1 Like |
Culture / Re: Someone Should Help Me Interprete My Dreams! by Peinstein: 4:45pm On Jan 01, 2014 |
Not an expert in interpreting dreams but I will give it a try. Dreams could have direct interpretations and sometimes (most times) it could have an implied interpretation. The interpretation of this dream is beyond a direct interpretation except your niece is related to superman. Implied - your niece symbolises someone close to you; who looks up to you; who needs you love, protection and provision. Do you have anyone in your life who gets this sort of attention from you? Think Secondly, you are living with your older sister and this means you are close to your niece. Implied, this could also mean that the said person is very close to you. Interestingly, your older sister might indicate the said person is being backed up by an authoritative figure in your life whom you are benefiting something from. The fact that your niece is harming you means you are underestimating the said person's potential to harm you Finally, it has happened repeatedly. It means you haven't been paying attention and probably you are already being harmed by the person. Now look into your life and search who fits in. Immediately after having those dreams what unfortunate things happened in your life and who was behind it. Is there a pattern. Look beyong your aunt or niece; they are more like an analogy to explain something. We all have our life warning systems; I guess this is yours doing its job. Pray more if confused and God will help you I hope I have tried. Happy new year |
