Please can we give this a rest? We are not perfect here, surely we do make mistakes but i doubt any one of us deliberately want to insult people. When any of us sound rude in our replies you can politely point that out without going off rail.

Vicjustice has being extremely helpful here, he started helping people even before i joined nairaland, if you found his post rude then explain that to him and he will apologize as i have seen him do in the past.

Please we are all volunteers here and sometimes we don't get it right but we are doing it with right intentions, it doesn't look good when one is being attack, i will feel bad if a single incident is blown out of proportion over shadowing all the efforts made in the past to help.

don rocky: hey everybody in the house....pls am a student and my stepfather is sponsoring my uk gerneral visiting visa....i summit my application on 16 of may 2013.and up to now i havent hear from them...pls my quesion is what are my chance of geting the visa.and when am i likely to hear from them.....the document i summited was
1)my completed visa form
2)letter of invitation from my uncle and his wife
3)letter of introduction from my school stateing the course am doing and when i will be likely to finish it
4)six month banks statement of my stepfather who is sponsoring me.acess bank and first bank.with go cash inflow
5)letter of consent from my dad and mom
6)marrage certificate of my mom and my step dad showing their surname
7)my birth certificate
so good people in the house what are my chancess of having the visa....and when likely are my going to hear from them...pls i need your help

@Phemobay, i employ you to be patient. Do not change your data so soon after your last refusal you may further be denied your application. I am telling you this honest truth, based on experience from two friends i know.

The first has been denied five times already and has taken a break from the US Embassy. His wife secured the F-1 visa in 2011 and she is in the States presently. He changed items in his profile soon after refusal, which further earned him several refusals.

The other guy has been denied twice already. He is not applying anytime soon.

Travel elsewhere, there are so many places to go for pleasure. Give your application ample time for your travel circumstance to change.

what i know that happens is that the embassy calls the bank and asks for the transaction history if it tallies with the statement submitted.
i saw this on a documentary of the UK border force.
it was in india and they called the bank to clarify the details on the account.
i once applied for a visa after picking up a loan of like 3 million.
was delayed for 4 weeks but it was granted for the 4 of the applicants.my wife and family.
the funds had depleted by the time the visa was granted.
cant say for sure though if they ask for the current balance

Very easy! In fact Asian Visa's are generally easy to get.
Trust me, getting bounced at the US embassy makes it seem as if getting an Ordinary Travel Visa is a Miracle.... Lol
Traveling to Malasia just needs a form and these;
1-Proof of employment- letter of Introduction from your employer
2- your passport Photos
3-int'l passport
4-about 20$ VISA application fee (dunno the price now, but as of sept last year when I checked it was 20$)
5-your IV letter, if you are going on Vacation a copy of the Hotel reservation and your bank statement
6-then your return flight ticket

they have opening hours at their embassy(I know only embassy one@Abuja, not sure about Lagos) submit your application and GBAM!

Your Visa comes out that same day.
The only lil fing I hate with going to Malasia, is the fact that their Law enforcement officers have a tendency to be hostile, esp towards Nigerians, so one has to be extra careful around those parts.

The idea is that the money will be there for use on the trip.
UKBA / visa are likely to check account with bank and find no funds!
Big wahalla. could be seen as fraud and get 10 yr ban in worst case.

Search for hotels in London and log on to their site and find out the cost. Hotels like Premier-Inn, Travelodge, Holiday-inn are all budget hotels.

However, having a genuine reason for a first time travel, assists such decision and the CO has a final say in the matter.

If you make this changes so soon as you have planned, it raises further suspicion on your motive to travel. Do just what i have told you, travel someplace else get travel experience and change your current status.

Apply after six(6) months as a pleasure traveller and not for conference purposes, this shows consistency in your application and clears any doubt.

ok... my purpose was not conference in d on i did b4, but d invitation letter is still so much valid for may... I wish to put my monthly income, then change my 3 weeks intended time of stay to 5days... and re-appear next month...

I can see from your first post that some pertinent questions were asked you by the CO. Those were the areas that needed answers you could not give.

1. You do not have any travel experience
2. Your take home pay was not stated clearly in the DS-160
3. The duration of your stay 20days was too long in comparism to your take home pay
4. Your other business that fetch you extra income, needed to be stated clearly for verification
5. Business/conference visa in your
specialised area should have been the better option for you and not tourist visa
6. You cant apply now or else your
application will be refused again.
7. Apply after 6 months when you would
have made this changes.
8. Travel someplace else to change your
status.

U can reapply next month. Secondly,u shld just say "you are staying 5days" because its somehow wanting to leave your work,wife and kid for 3weeks (20days). And also be specific about what you do, being an Accountant sounds more conviencing.
