Good day everyone please I need suggestions a friend of mine sent a package for me...the company called and told me to pay a sum of 15k so my package can be sent to my location after too much to and fro I agreed I will pay 5k...when the package is being delivered I will balance up the 10k they agreed.when I asked for their location they sent this address for me ADCPA, SOKOTO STREET, AREA 1 GARKI,AREA 1&2 ABUJA MUNICIPAL KARU NO13 PESHE ROAD OLD KARU ABUJA... I noticed the address and told Dem I can send sm1 to pick it up the person on the phone said its a VIP package... please can sm1 help I don't want to waste money.

My question is... is it scam??
My friend is insisting i pay the money cause he spent alot on the package...is it normal for them to accept below the half payments??

So I have a problem, the Nigerian customs are trying to extort me.

I shipped a Windows handled pc from Netherlands to Nigeria, item value is 799usd.
Normally I'm required to pay 5 percent import duty also package is also very small about 1kg.

I was surprised to see 103,315 nair import duty payment, I asked FedEx why it's so they said customs didn't believe the amount stated on the parcel so they inflated the fee to 1500usd and charged me that high, I had to appeal and submit include, link to website and other info so they would see the price on parcel is accurate but they declined asking me to pay such huge fees instead.

Is there a way I can fight this or just ask them to return parcel to the return address?
Parcel is being held in Ikeja Lagos.

I'm having the same issue. It's been in Lagos since April and it's just saying insert in bag. I've called their lines and none of them is working. I've also sent them mails only the response that it's in their Ikotun post office.
Do I go there and see if it's there? Will I need to pay for anything? I need to know if possible as my place is very far from there. The package is about 13kg and the person paid for it to be delivered in Nigeria.

Despatched doesn't mean it's been delivered.
Be patient.
Nipost can be frustrating.
You'd get a call or text when it comes.

Please I was just contacted by my local post office to come and pick up my parcel. And they said I should come with N1500 for "Parcel Clearance Fee". Is that a new legit thing by NIPOST or is my local PO just trying to extort money from me?
My package is small, less than 1kg. Also I didn't pay this for previous similar weight parcels. Pleasee help.

Edit: I called the person back and she said I'd be given a receipt and that the 1500 is based on weight. I know the package is tiny based on past experience with the person who sent it. But as she mentioned receipt, is this some new NIPOST rule for real? Or na zobo?

So, we all resolved in the compound that we were going to cut the grass on the fallow ground just next to ours

You see, though we had no business helping someone cut the grass on his land... As we no come Lagos come count bridge

But there was no sense proving right at this time!

The man was asked to contacted the grass on his fallow land 2 years ago but to no avail

Now, the grass has overgrown the fence into our compound

And despite how beautiful, fancy, Behind and lovely our compound is, snakes were entering

With all of us having kids, there was absolutely no sense in proving our right

Our lives are more important and the lives of our kids are far more important

So, we set our rights aside and put money together to have some machineries cut the grass. All for our safety

Do you know that the owner of the land sold the land to someone else who lives just behind the house?

Yes, he did and that one would ensure that the grasses are always cut even if he's not yet ready to build

I know, you are probably thinking we have been played. Naaaa! We actually won! We are now safe from snakes bites

Sometimes, in life my friend, you have to set your rights aside and do what needs to be done

What must be done, must be done! No matter what you feel like 

Got it? I hope you do

And I hope you learn some things from this. Many, in avoiding what needs to be done, have set themselves up for poverty and some times, even for death

It means your package has been scheduled to leave for its destination country. EDI is short for electronic data interchange. NIPOST has received information from the shipper that a package is on its way to Nigeria.

That means I shouldn't be paying the 1500 right? Do you know how much the actual fee is or if it's free for packages less than 0.5kg . On the tracking page, it shows my package is 0.132kg. They say it's Express (EMS) and not registered mail. And because the tracking number starts with EH and that N1500 is the minimum clearance fee for anything that comes through there. Please how can I resolve this one
