FBS: The average patriotic Nigerian is supporting Peter Obi because of WHAT HE REPRESENTS. Peter Obi winning is as big a revolution as any that can ever happen in our country. This has the potential to spark similar revolutions across Africa. Peter Obi winning sends a message to the entire political class that failure will no longer be rewarded. You can also see how political campaigning has changed already. Look at you now, asking for a candidate to propose fully working solutions. I'm sure that you were not concerned in the slightest about this last elections. Show me one previous example of you doing this. And yes, Obi has proposed working solutions numerously in his previous speeches. Go and browse YouTube and see and hear for himself. Don't fall prey to Tinubu's propaganda media arm. Lastly yes, Obi has a very wonderful track record as a governor. I wouldn't even get into this with you because you are already biased but if you are genuinely curious to know his track record, Again, go to YouTube and see for yourself. It's very easy to find. Just spend 3 hours on YouTube on obi issue and you would declare your support immediately. You will catch the Obi virus. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ASUU's FIGHT IS YOUR FIGHT Why do you think FG sees ASUU as an insect that needs to be crushed? ASUU is the only trade union that has the balls to confront the insensitivity and irresponsibility of our politicians and public office holders, who have positioned themselves as demigods. From military era till date ASUU has challenged their recklessness. Why is it that for these six months, federal government cannot hire other people to take the place of ASUU and teach you? There is no professor or senior lecturer, who is unemployed, except the retired ones. Besides, there is no qualified lecturer from any part of the globe, who can afford to take an appointment in Nigerian universities, because Nigerian lecturers are the least paid in the entire world. You may wish to verify this. Why do you think politicians and top government officials send their children to foreign universities? It is, simply, because they cannot afford to see their children pass throughout the mess they created in our public universities. Note that, Buhari has seven children, and not even one of them schoolled in Nigeria. At least, the social media has revealled enough of this kind of patriotism practised by Nigerian politicians. Do you think Nigeria is broke to fund university education? If Nigeria is broke to fund education, the country should have been broke too to sustain incessant looting, an extravagant government, that can afford flamboyant aids to foreign nations. Don't forget the rail line constructed to service Niger Republic and the expensive SUV donation made to assist them fight insurgency. Don't forget that our refineries are moribound, while we import refined product from them. By so doing we sustain their economy, help them create jobs, while our teeming youths languish in joblessness. Nigeria is not broke, the billions of naira alone stolen under Buhari's watch can go far enough to meet ASUU's demands.. Do you think ASUU is the villain? ASUU is fighting for you and the future of their own children, for no ASUU member living on the wage of Nigerian lecturers can afford to send his/her ward to private universities in Nigeria or the public ones abroad. Do not consider FG the nation's hero in this fight or struggle between them and ASUU, for they do not, in one second, care about you. Do not be quick to forget that Umahi, Buhari's stooge was bold enough to tell you to your face that university education is not meant for everyone. In this statement, he meant to scourge you, and ultimately, draw the red line between their children and you. Nonetheless, do not yield to this, because Nigeria belong to all of us. You may not realize how irresponsible the government is with regards to the strike, until you understand that they did not honour the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), which was renegotiated for in 2020. ASUU suspended 2020 strike in December of the same year, as a result of this MOU, which was supposed to be implemented in January, 2021. However, uptil 14th February this year, the government went on silent mode regarding the MOU. The several letters ASUU wrote to them did not ring bells enough to awaken their conscience. The first three months of the strike was not time enough for them to engage ASUU, they merely played the game of silence, and as usual ignored ASUU. Eventually, when they woke up from their fuzzy slumber, they constituted a renegotiate committee again, instead of using the previous MOU. This was nothing, but a delay tactics. They are always eager to buy time whenever they are faced with a people oriented project. The renegotiation committee, which was made up of their own agents and ASUU national executive members, concluded their work and handed in their report in June. Again, the government went on silent mode till this month. When they recollected from their sleep paralysis, they unleashed yet another terror on ASUU, and, of course the Nigerian students. Instead of honouring the most recent negotiation report, they have engaged ASUU with a thousand and one threats. 2 Likes |

Amoto94: In my own particular order,I'll start with SECURITY 1) We are seriously understaffed. From 2007 to 2015, our strength grew by 38,000. But from 2015 till now, it grew by just 23,000. Quite paltry in relation to the increasing population and different wars we are fighting across different regions. Now, another issues for Security is Funding. How do we ensure we raise money to fund the military, and also increase its strength? While we can rely on other sources of revenue, we can also begin to involve the military into economic activities. The military can also be the workforce for the government. They should run businesses, and handle projects too. Projects can be awarded to the military to undertake, instead of Indians and Chinese. That way, there's this internal inflow of funds that leaves the government, back to the government. So while we fund the military with a limited budget, we can also be assured of more funds as the fiscal year runs. Lastly, another issue is upholding the law. Of you arrest a man, and there are no stringent laws to send a message to the next criminal, it would be pointless. The reason we have bandits and different terror groups is majorly because of our inability to uphold stringent laws. I don't believe in negotiating with terror groups. The moment you begin negotiations, you have just given another empty room to another group to occupy. We need to understand that any terror group cannot be negotiated with. Its a full blown war. Let me stop here, so we can discuss this part first 4 Likes 4 Shares |

Amoto94: EDUCATION The major problem we have, for me is a high percentile of illiteracy. The Government should channel its funding to the Basic Education. Primary and Secondary education should be a MUST, and the government should fund it. Its much cheaper to fund that, than the Tertiary that they are dragging everyday. Also, another issue is understaffing for the UBEC. The NYSC comes into play here. I'll also suggest instead of swapping corpers from one region to another, those graduating from a particular state, should be retained there to fix the problems of the state; problems like lack of teachers. This would reduce redeployment and ghosting drastically. If I graduated from Sokoto state University, I should serve in Sokoto. There's a high probability that I won't redeploy or ghost.., than sending a graduate from Lagos or Enugu there. In a situation where those already retained are few, then they can look at other states for numbers. For the Tertiary, the government should privatise the University. Its time is up, to be honest. Let the private sector take over, and let the government have a limited number that they can take on scholarships in those schools. So there should be a cut off mark for those that the government would put on a scholarship in UI, while those that didn't meet it should pay the full tuition. Instead of subsidising, they should profer scholarships. This also goes for Polys too Then the government should service Skill centres. 2 years in a Skill acquisition centre is enough to learn technical skills, and the certificates there should be accepted in the job market. Instead of queuing up to join Polys and Unis, people should be encouraged to go there and learn. The government should also abolish foreign scholarships. Its pointless funding people to go to Oxford when they won't come back and transfer that knowledge here. Rather, they should pay get a few foreign lecturers to come here and transfer that knowledge to the students here. My hand dey pain me 4 Likes 1 Share |

izzou: Attempts to build a strong military will be met with a lot of resistance, because senior officers don turn that place to a feeding trough. Jonathan in particular had running battles with his service chiefs because they were causing too many problems, stealing too much, and even sabotaging the war on boko haram. Jonathan had to sack all of them at one point - thats when we started seeing more gist in the news - the COAS ihejerika was accused of sponsoring boko haram. The CONS had to forfeit 2 billion naira in stolen funds to EFCC. The CODS was advising Boko Haram to form a political party. Azazi started to make noise about Boko Haram relationship to Government and died same year in a plane crash It got so bad that Jonathan had to use Sambo Dasuki and Ayo Oritsejafor to bypass military procurement chain and buy guns for the military. So you can see why Buhari decided to keep all his service chiefs sweet. He sacked one set of chiefs and made them all foreign ambassadors immediately to give them diplomatic immunity. Babagana Monguno, Buhari's NSA recently said 1 billion dollars issued to service chiefs under Buhari to procure weapons went missing. They don't know where it is. Security is a problem because a strong military js considered a threat to civilian governments. The top brass in the military are empowered to steal with impunity to keep them sweet, and prevent any talk of coups. I agree with you that security is thr NUMBER 1 issue that must be tackled by any serious president. And I agree with your ideas about recruitment. I just don't know if its actually possible, and whether any sitting g president will have the balls to effect the required military reforms given the twin risks of corruption fighting back and enabling potential coupists. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

It's just one of their requests, increment in salary is one of them, increased funding of varsities, etc. [b]The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), yesterday, accused the Federal Government of misinforming Nigerians about their demands, just as it said that it never had it so bad with past administrations as far as negotiations are concerned. |

Electricity, carpentry automobiles etc can fetch a reasonable amount of income for someone even if the person is not able to further his education. FBS:When Obi said he save 70billion for Anambra, people think he didn’t do anything but he probably built more infrastructures than most his peers. From Anambra state university teaching hospital to building a new campus from scratch. He donated massive buildings to different public hospitals. He’s had some policies that changed Anambra for good especially in the education sector. Prior to him Anambra we not know and we are known now just because he started it. So when you hear Obi is stingy, that’s because he won’t bribe you to do roads One day visit Anambra, then go to Oyo or Ekiti or Osun or Ogun state That’s the issue we having in Nigeria now, government officials will inflate prices to loot… that’ll end Try selling another Igbo president and see if people will be bothered 3 Likes |

BlueRayDick: Apples and Oranges Attacking the candidate is different from attacking fellow Nigerians supporting the candidate. Most obidient have gone beyond attacking Tinubu/Atiku to actually attacking the supporters of these people If you declare war on people because they support another candidate yet you want to live in the same country during and after election What would be apples to apples is showing when the supporters of Jonathan were attacked on Social Media when campaigning for their man like Obi supporters have been doing You have expended all the insults on Tinubu druggie, Fraud, didn't graduate, everything. Reno has abused Tinubu multiple times sometimes even personal insults, how many times has Tinubu supporters threatened his children? Now if they say a Presidential candidates supporters are attacking other supporters online. raumdeuter: Let's use this thread as a case study. Is it all Obidients that have wished attacks on others for not supporting Obi? Infact the number is lesser compared to those who will vote him. You single out a tweet and call it the opinion of a group? How. So I could just call all Muslims Bandits and Terrorists because one group or groups is causing mayhem somewhere else? I don't give 2 fcks about the tweet or any campaign propaganda. But we can do better than stereotyping a whole group because of a tweet. Even the Obi himself, I have never seen him attack any of the candidates. So, why categorise his movement as insulting and vile just because of few people's opinions? Everybody has extremists. That should be well known and understood, instead of unnecessary agenda 1 Like |

I am sure for any Tinubu or Atiku supporter attacking here, its a response to attacks by the Obi supporters which is similar to what happens on all social media in the country This thread is over 200 pages, Can you quote any Atiku or Tinubu supporter attacking an Obidient supporter unprovoked? Its usually one side that tags others as tribalists, Terrorists supporters, evil people Everyone has extremists yet its only extremists of one that insults people on this thread that you want us to use as example.
