When you attack and demonize those practicing certain aspects of their native culture unjustly so as to destroy their culture and replace these aspects with similar aspects from a foreign culture, when you attack the wrong person and they send you a message in your vulnerable state while asleep, just bear your misfortune like that.

All humans, whether religious or not, have norms, languages, practices, arts, music they listen to. All these is what constitute a culture.

Even to use your dictionary to check what's called "norm" and "culture" is difficult.

Lols.

I no get time for that terrorist
Why don't you get us a dictionary oga. Listen you are just exposing your stupidity by engaging in this. Get a dictionary and explain your pointless point. An individual's personal life cannot constitute culture or its norms if that's the way you are going. And by the way, the issues that surround belief systems are not regarded as norms because they involve social institutions. There can be religious norms but religion itself is not a norm.

Isese vs Islam: Whenever I encounter this debate anywhere, the natural response is to support the Isese people because I know what Islam means for Isese, my culture.

Africans of low intelligence are the slaves of this world. When you're dumb, you're a burden to yourself, your people, and the whole of humanity.

Even if one's parents were indoctrinated into an evil religion and they then indoctrinated their children, a person can read and educate themselves on the history of the religion upon reaching adulthood and leave such a religion that's toxic to their culture, unless such a person's IQ is too low.

You call yourself a Yoruba person, and you see people having an argument about religion, which is an element of a culture, if you don't have what we call "lakaaye" in Yoruba, i.e., "intellect ", like some animals here, you'd be defending the foreign religion against the indigenous religion.

Yet, even as an irreligious person, I know what the growth of Islam means for me as an agnostic and as a Yoruba person: The death of freethinking and importantly, the death of Isese.

This continent is just unlucky to have too many dolts who support the ancestor of other parts of the world over their own ancestors. And yet, the morons want to develop and grow.

They think other intelligent peoples around the world, which Africans are rushing to their country, who promote and support their ancestors and cultures don't know what they're doing.

There are some religions that are even relatively better and more humane like the traditional African religions, Buddhism, Eckankar, Taoism and the likes.

These ones aren't toxic to Africa.

However, Christianity and Islam are toxic to Africa for a single reason: They both seek to destroy African cultures and traditions and replace them with the Arabic and European cultures.

People are doing a lot of work in promoting Isese. I love this calendar developed by a Yoruba person.

Philosophy in Yoruba and other indigenous languages

When we philosophize in Yoruba, our forefathers called it "Arojinle", which also means "deep thinking" or "critical thinking". A guy (picture attached) is doing a great job in this area on Facebook with over half a million followers, developing great philosophical thoughts in Yoruba language.

Philosophy is indigenous to Isese, just like it's to other native cultures of Africa. Highly intelligent Igbo people, Ijaw, and other indigenous peoples can also develop philosophy in their mother tongue for the modern world if such a project doesn't exist already.

I just read some posts on this forum and laugh. Religious people can be very funny because most of them don't check things pertaining to their faith in detail before believing them.

A couple of months ago, I was discussing religion and culture with a younger colleague, and this person was complaining about some other lecturers of Philosophy in her school.

I just laughed. I just told her if you want to develop a career in your field as a scientist, you'd still learn that philosophy you're running from while in the university now.

She's afraid they'll make her dump her religion, without knowing I'm not so different from those lecturers she was running from.

I just told her not to bother herself too much about religion, that it's human beings doing their "thing". No god is involved.

I added if she wants to take up a career in her field after graduating, she'll still learn that philosophy so as to grow and develop in her career. You can't establish a career in science without philosophy.

As regards culture, most modern humans, especially religious people, don't know it's some of these freethinkers they see around that pioneered/developed some of their cultures and religions in the Old World.

Whether it's Yahweh, Allah, Atum, or Olorun or any of the tons of the local gods and goddesses, they've all existed in the past, and for most of them, freethinking was the norm. Or does it make sense for Olorun to be worshipping Allah his mate? Or for Allah to be worshipping Yahweh his mate?

Anyway, they're all the same to ignorant religious people sha.

So, some of these past humans, which religious worship as God, reincarnate in the modern era. And the funny thing is, most times, it's that freethinking (atheism or agnosticism) they did in the past eras they still do again when they come back.

Nature can really be funny. The same reason that made them embrace atheism and agnosticism in the Old World is the same reason that also makes them embrace it in the modern world: They see those entities religious people call God as their mate, which is true.

The funny thing is, religious people don't know some atheists and agnostics they see around developed their culture in the past.

Then, even most times, a reincarnated person who had been worshipped as God in the past most times don't also recall their past life, and when they do later, it can be a life-threatening incident.

Nature is full of mysteries.

How did the past people develop what we call culture today? All cultures are mental programmings.

When the first humans molded various sorts of living things in the Old World mimicking those that evolved naturally from stars, they programmed these living systems using languages, various practices, norms, music, belief systems, and the likes, just like engineers program hardware and robots today.

There are some techniques those past humans used to mentally shape and mold these living systems again. It's all psychology.

A person can even apply the same technique to themselves to let go of old beliefs and habits and learn new ones. Freethinkers would have done such programming, deprogramming, and reprogramming when they left religion.

So, I laughed when some people think some humans have no culture. Even if you yourself see a fellow human without a culture, you'd be shocked as such a person is either dead or in a vegetative state (brain dead).

It's interesting when I see modern scientists and engineers program, deprogram, and reprogram robots today.

They are some songs you need to listen to more than once before it grows on you. At first I didn't feel gwagalada until I played it for a while now it's my one my best jam. They are countless songs like that.

I'd exemplify:

Say I'm a techie and I team up with a marketing cofounder to start an e-commerce company called "Market Plentee". Basically, our startup helps you pay your customer with bonus points redeemable after 50 points.

We get #5 per transaction so you do 50 transactions monthly. That's #250. 10,000 people use our app monthly.
That's #250 times 10,000 or even less. But averaged at #2.5 million monthly as revenue.

But 1 person is 50 monthly transactions. and 10,000 people give us 500,000 monthly transaction volume.

See? It looks high but our gross profit is #2.5 million. But because the transaction volume is high, I can get accounting gurus to falsify the financial records and instead of #25 million gross profit in 10 months, I could ramp it up to #4.5 billion gross profit. How? Increasing the charge back from users and up the user numbers.

In Nigeria where we overlook things, would the authorities painstakingly go through 5 million transactions in 10 months. Like #50 here, #40 over there, #84 there? Nothing suspicious, right?

Well, we are a fintech. With our cooked financials, we get a $13 million valuation. We raise $2.3 million in a Series A round from VCs, and our initial investors sell their equity for big bucks.

We get Tech Cabal, Benjamin Dada, Tech Radar and the big boy tech blogs to run 5 cover stories on us. We get public legitimacy.

Rinse and repeat.

Only in fintech would you likely get away with it.

----

Of course, not all are guilty of it. But the earlier you get funding from outside sources before your startup stabilizes and gets profit, the more you are desperate and more likely to fall prey to investors who'd put you under pressure to falsify records because they want [ 10 or 15 times their investments in 'your' business.
And the more likely you'd sign away rights.

I'm looking at it simply from the tech ecosystem perspective. I can't say for hotels and others. What I know about them is what most people already know - conduits, but I can't say how they operate.

I stumbled on a debate about the deceit of Nigerian fintech minutes ago on X days and hours after I pointed it out.

The valuation is forged. Most Nigerian fintech are nothing close to the valuations you read in sponsored articles on tech blogs. It's fraud.

Cooked financial records, mostly. Or projected perception of profitability.
