I won't say the final deceived many sha. I'll just say that nff wield factors that can ruin any beautiful or rough but successful run of form with this team. The games are important but they can go on dragging salaries and agreement like say that's the most important detail ever. E dey kill morale.

From a player pov too, if the suspect nff dey drag such, then bonuses, etc no too sure be dat.

Then, this show of arrogance Osimhen showed today, If na Mikel Arteta wan sign am before, i guess it may cause a big u-turn.

codemaniacs:

Victor is complaining about the NFF and the coaches inviting players that are nursing injuries.. Enyeama once said people won't know the injuries he played through for the S.E.

Osimhen is 100% right..

Let the NFF address the overage players playing in the NPFL with fake ages and build a league with high standards so that true talents are produced by the NPFL..
Osimhen is 100% right about what?
he was right in cursing Finidi and everybody who complained about him?
swearing that "all of una no go die better"
by saying that,he insulted others join,
just because it was alleged that Finidi blamed him?

Nobody is happy in hearing that anybody questioned his commitment,he probably the most committed player, especially on the field of play.
But his outburst and his choice of words is wrong oga.
He might be richer but Finidi is not his mate and he even yet to attain his accomplishments.

He better come out and apologize without delay.
M no dey beg anybody to play,is because he has succeeded.
It was Nigeria that provided him the platform to succeed and a Nigerian coach ,he should remember that.

We all love him,he should not let his emotions destroy that

Goke7:

this our arrogance will never get us anywhere, we keep denying the fact that the coach had to make do with the materials he had then, I know the major grouse some of you have is the selection of players he took to the tournament but the truth remains we have tried several players and this free-flowing football we all want to see still has not happened. I wonder when it will. Thank God Paseiro is gone, I will continue to wait for the magic the next coach will do, one is down already, let's see what's next

Nothing Osimhen do today is right as long as he remains in the sphere of professional football. The curses and death wishes alll are unnecessary too. I suspect repercussions anyway, whether he apologizes or not.
But FG too spend 20months as Assistant and see as he dey do with main job??

Besides, the 1st WCQ we missed, remember how everyone blamed him too.

Only God sha know the hurt and info many of our players dey hide inside their chest. Imagine a day all of them come outside and spill everything make everywhere scatter and factory reset happen. E go sweet cos we need it. 😹😹

Even Italians are smarter about backdoor issues and dealings.

Walahi if Finidi had continued or maybe tweaked Peseiro's method, we would probably not be here but like you said he wanted to show he's his own man.

The thing with Peseiro's method is that Peseiro himself stumbled on it. He was playing or attempting to play attacking football, but it wasn't working until he tried the 3-5-3 method and it clicked. It was pragmatism and it took us to the final which we could possibly had won if he had properly rotated his squad.

This lust for beautiful football, will finish us if we continue to be immature and not act wisely.

It'd have been wisdom for Finidi to employ a method the players were used to, get good results and then with space and in good time bring in his own philosophy instead he wanted to please the fans and brought in toko Tika method and see how our players were jamming each other running all over the pitch. No structure, no shape. Chai.

some of us are saying Finidi needed more time, we gave Paseiro time and he got results in Afcon whether he stumbled on any tactic or not, if we were reasonable we should have known that another new coach would need more time but we went ahead to gamble with world cup qualifiers.

I remember saying here that any new coach will need about 5 games before finding his balance, we have ourselves to blame, Paseiro or not. All in the past now, we move.

So you don't you have ideas about how best Peseiro should have refined what was at least a working method and if you do, why do you think he'd not have incorporated new ideas?

Or you think Peseiro went through the heat of Afcon and learnt nothing about his tactics, his players and African football?

Finidi George really let most of us that wanted local coaches DOWN. Shame won't let me post here after the nonsense he served us.

Meanwhile, I ain't gonna stop believing in the local coaches. Late Keshi did it. Siasia is someone I really trust can handle the job. Give him time to start not in the middle or end of job and expect miracle to happen.

You and charlesemeka85 were quick off the block to realize that we needed to be pragmatic based on the tools at our disposal. During Afcon I saw sense in that position.

Truly we overestimate our team.

Having read several pages,I have a question for @thegoodjoe. What exactly is the rationale for wanting the super eagles to play tiki taka. Considering it's obvious we don't have the technical players for it, not enough time to coaches to implement the ideas, the playing pitches are most time terrible, we probably can't afford a guardiola level coach.
Even when pep himself got to man city he had to sell almost the players he met to get new ones that are better suited to play the way he wants cos no matter of coaching can turn a mangala to Ruben dias

Because it is the template for growth.

It forms a platform for selecting the right players.

Attention for us to build as a team.

Even when it comes to selecting coaches, it will give us a template to select those that will help us grow. This should cut across all age grades.

We have tried the other way for too long that it has gotten to a point people believe our players can't even play the possession game.

Embracing heavy possession play will help us grow faster in the long run that staying stuck as we have done for years.

Finito.

shebi it's the reason Finidi was given the job having witnessed all that happened in Afcon but he started talking about the captain band and formations. You see if you coach eagles, you just have to listen less to all these social media analysts, just like Eguavoen, Finidi allowed himself to be carried away. Keshi succeded because he listened less to armchair critics and he wasn't playing fancy football either.

Stiff coach who found his way to a working method. All our coaches have been stiff. Rohr was stiff, Peseiro stiff. Finidi in his short stint was stiff. The new coach once he finds a working method will be stiff. It's even a mantra in football: never change a winning team.

Incorporation of new ideas could mean playing the same method with different players in one or two positions.

Problem is Finidi was a nobody under Peseiro. How the players go take look am? I wonder why he stayed at the β€œjob”. There will always be a temptation to stamp some authority coupled with the missing players due to injury.

There is no guarantee that Peseiro would have done well in the absence of those players.

Simple. These boys were not paid bonuses or allowances for years. These boys were not well funded. The boys were put on a very poor pitch that was waterlogged. Simple they were sabotaged. Not quality. They played over 50 games and only lost once. Amunike's U20 were quality.
