Dead on arrival, Tinubu won't sign this, ndi Igbo no just get sense, instead of fighting to create Anioma state which consists of the Igbo speaking areas in Delta to make South East a 6 state region they're trying to split the small 5 states which still won't increase the number of votes that would account for as South East votes, rather than splitting what you have why not add to it.? I must be the ignorant one here. I had thought that to create additional states in Nigeria requires constitutional amendment and not just an act of the national assembly. Can lawyers in the house please educate me.

They just started the process. After it scales the NASS it will be sent to the states where it must scale in two thirds of the states.

The whole region does not bring enough to the table in terms of IGR, now they are contemplating on creating another state so that they can be entitle to more allocations from the federation account while they they contribute less to the account.

Moreover, why trying to split their dot land again?

Enugu state is too big so carving out those 3 local governments from the southern part is a good idea..also the isiagu, ivo, uburu, ohaozara people barely identify with the current ebonyi state..and then the northmost parts of abia state coupled with okigwe...this proposal will surely make for a fairer reprensentation for these marginalized border towns and communities between enugu abia and imo.. 'center(middle) state indeed.. nice one!

Ebonyi State creation in the SE centred on Okigwe and Enugu zones
Only those naturally unjust would go into the same area again for a 6th state in the SE but leave Anambra south and Imo West.

Concerning the long proposed Anioma state, which Sen Nwoko recently made an advocacy for, even some Anioma communities have opposed it.
These people should forget about it because state creation ended with the military regime.


The Etiti sponsors are novices.
According to the pattern of creating the existing five states in the southeast area,
the 12 local government areas in Imo West senatorial district is the nucleus of a sixth state for the southeast.


BEFORE NOW.

Old Enugu State was divided to get most of Ebonyi state. Abia state contributed a little to Ebonyi state.
Therefore a sixth state for the southeast is to come from Imo and Anambra States, or from Imo or Anambra State.

Na so. Only a dimwit keeps all his eggs in one basket. If you refuse true and fiscal federalism, refuse extra states in in the southeast, we return to the trenches until one day, one thing happens in a jiffy. You will lose all the cheap cash from crude oil.

We are discussing pre-1966 regional government pattern and you're stuck with the creation of more Micro states that won't be viable.

Practically impossible create a new state in the SE. It may even be a strategy to thwart the Orlu state proposal and bring confusion to
kill any further balkanization of Igboland.

And they all know that the Orlu state proposal is the most qualified and most just as 6th state in the southeast.

A lot of the local government areas in Anambra south were in Old Orlu division before they were carved to Anambra State. Some of the churches in Anambra south are still in Orlu Dioceses.

Even without that, the 12 local government areas in present Orlu senatorial zone is enough to form a new state.
These Igbos are their own unmaking.

Because of that,the SouthEast should be denied an addittional state which is meant for Geopolitical balancing??

And who told you ANY state in Nigeria has its indegenous peoples being of the same dialects and customs?When in fact the indigenes of EVERY state in Nigeria are of completely different ethnic groups from each other but lumped together in the same state...

The Orumba North and South you are alluding to is even of the same Ethnic group with the rest of the peoples of ETITI state....compared to what is obtainable in other states!!

So what are you talking about??
