Please leave Eastern Nigeria, so that you can have the opportunity to expose your mind a bit.

You are so dense walahi, what has eastern Nigeria got to do with this?

NO thanks to your FG at the bolded. Check yoour fact right, Lagos was far ahead of those cities you mentioned because Lagos was being managed by the colonial government. The potential was enormous so Lagos was able to build most of the facilities you erroneously attribute to FG doings or OIL MONEY today, from telecommunication, to electricity to rail tracks, health institutions, education institutions, airport, seaport, undersea telecom cable, cinema, big markets and huge commercial capabilities etc as well as being an attractive destination for FDI and expatriates. All these and more were transferred to the NIGERIAN state at independent only to send everything to their initial bad condition. They were renamed to Nigerian and subsequently denigraded.
By the time, FCT left in 1999, a whooping percentage of FDI is gone, train service has collapse, the postal service was struggling, Nitel was barely alive, the previously booming ports were also struggling, our road infrastructure was bad, electricity and electrification were poor, the BRT system forgotten and the IGR meagre. If only you know this period and what remained of LAGOS state, you'll be thankful to two persons for her resurrection from gloom. Col. BUBA MARWA played a big role to uplift her physical look a bit but the fourth republic era, which current president of the nation, BOLA TINUBU championed did the rest turn around. Now you can go through IKOYI, V.I, LEKKI, BANANA ISLAND, and the prestigous EKO ATLANTIC CITY and marvel at the ongoing transformation and development. Give it time, Lagos will soon beat far behind all those cities you mentioned upthere, irrespective of the development their central government are investing into them. Give it a little time!

FCT didn't leave in 1999 so you don't even know how to lie. Ikoyi and VI were FG developed lands from the time of the British. Banana Island was collected from rhe real developer who died. Lagos at this rate and with the monumental stealing of APC in the next 200 years can never get to the level of these cities.

My typo mistake and you should know that too. I meant to write 1991 for the official relocation of the FCT.
FOR your continous attachment of your FG to colonial development is mischievous and misleading. There ain't no FG during colonial rule. Colonial government developed IKOYI and VICTORIA ISLAND for their residential requirement, agreed. But they ain't your FG. Colonial government built the AIRPORT, SEAPORT, RAILWAY, ELECTRICITY, TELECOMMUNICATION, gave Lagos BUS TRANSIT, CINEMA, RECREATION FACILITIES, built the current LAGOS MAINLAND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (including YABA), built some renowned HOSPITALS, SCHOOLS, SUPERMARKETs, etc. Don't mix it up, they ain't your FG and they built those things using Lagos revenue.

MODIFIED....
AND to add, the IKOYI and VICTORIA ISLAND the colonial rule handed over to FG was purely residential. The Broad Street on LAGOS ISLAND and Marina generally was the place being developed for commercial purpose. FG maintained the residential plan too and handed down same template to the state upon leaving for Abuja. Lagos state reviewed the template and made the two places MIXED DEVELOPMENT. So, the places were all left littered with low-rise buildings and bungalow. You should go see the new developments now. As we speak, multiple highrise developments are still ongoing in both of them.
As for BANANA ISLAND, investors only gravitate towards opportunities. The state offers immense opportunities, that's why investors can confidently pull in their resources. it's normal.

Lagos State’s gross domestic product (GDP) is estimated at $137 billion – $145 billion. Forget whether it is fourth or fifth largest on the continent, pay attention to what that size means: Bigger than Kenya’s $113.4 billion econom, Ghana’s $74 billion GDP, and Ethiopia’s $127 billion economy.

Every serious business has its headquarters or at least a major branch in Lagos. Headquarters of all the major financial institutions from banks to insurance companies are in Lagos.

Whether you are a foreigner or Nigerian, I urge you to please bring your investments to Lagos State.
Your investments are safe and you're guaranteed of a working business environment with great returns on investment and the best investor-friendly experience in Nigeria and Africa.

Please join others already doing so.
Lagos is the right place to site your investments. You, your family and investments are safe in Lagos.

We overcame all the adversities of dilapidated/obsolete failed eyesore FG infrastructures, ghost town Lagos CBDs, filth, bomb blasts, OPC/Hausa wars, raging & ravaging Atlantic Ocean coastline, state sponsored assassination of Yoruba leaders etc when the rest of Nigeria abandoned Lagos for their Yoruba host after the annulment of June 12, 1993 and relocation of federal capital away from Lagos. They trooped en masse to their villages and states mocking us that it was over for us. Today, we are happy that we reversed things in Lagos and it is no more Oso Abiola in Lagos, it's now reverse. Our state is now courted by same people and their descendants who mocked Lagos then. We and our parents did it! We are grateful to God and few other Nigerians and foreigners who stood by us during the low ebb period of our city. We are building our own Lagos state-owned state of the art world class ports, bridges, teaching hospitals, airports, stadia etc today.

If you are a non-Yoruba, when you relocate your investment to Lagos, my advice for you is to stay off the local Lagos Yoruba politics, do not go into illegitimate and criminal business, face your investments, give back to your Lagos host community in form of corporate social responsibility, do not destroy the environment, respect and live at peace with your Yoruba host and watch how Yorubaland will bless you , your family and investment with great returns far beyond your expectations!

This is the best time for you to relocate your investment to Lagos.
May God continue to bless Lagos State and Nigeria for ever! Check my signature for free stuffs!
I see how you twisted history concerning the Igbos fleeing Lagos in '93. Thank God you posted the full newspaper article. Also, politics is for everyone.
