I was at a restaurant yesterday for a fast one but noticed I was the only customer available at that point. The restaurant is situated on a very busy Road.

The generator was put on for me for close to 2 hours.

Same story for most of the restaurants I've been to.

How're they surviving and what's your experience like?. Could it be my location alone?

Not your location alone. People don't have money to waste on frivolity. Nowadays, no more big man. Everybody is managing. If you can manage to cook with that your 5k, it might last you for some days compare to one plate of food at that price.

Minimum wage 30k

People do not have disposable income to go chop for restaurant anymore.

Even buka/mama put eatery customers have drop significantly!! Talk less of these kind of restaurants.

The following have made fast food restaurants business challenging and unprofitable
- Cost of diesel
- Cost of procurement (raw materials; a bag of rice is over 85k. A kilo of turkey is 7k, Sharwa that used to be 200 back in the day (2020) is N800 for one piece, Titus & Kote is damn expensive, Beans na big man food, I don't want to mention Garri, noddles have left the WhatsApp group)
- PHCN estimated billing
- State Internal Revenue Service
- Federal internal Revenue Service
- State Environment Protection Agency
- State Advertising Agency
- Consumption tax (depending on the state)

How do you think they would break even in 6 months?

Funny enough people come in to just buy a bottle of water and wait endlessly taking AC into their body because they have trekked a long distance (whereas I am burning fuel😭)

Unfortunately, the inevitable would eventually happen, the business closes down and people are out of jobs.

Anyway 🙂 join the WhatsApp channel link to get free food, jobs & many giveaways https://whatsapp(.)com/channel/0029VaH6zEJFHWpuQ1zwxt1Q

I noticed it where I do eat sometimes. The place was literally empty. Last time I was there I told the woman to consider reducing her standard plate of food so as to attract more customers. She was just quiet and I really felt for her. Cos it's not really her fault.

Even chicken republic that use to sell their refuel from N1,500 have all increased their prices due to inflation. the last refuel I bought at the chicken republic in MM2 was N2,700.

That's why everyone is cooking at home these days. With 10k (or even less) you can make an average soup or stew that would last days or even weeks.

On Sunday I made stew with 8k. Bought 2 kote fishes for about N4,400 and 2 half derica size tomato paste. That stew should take me till next week. And believe me, it's much more economical than spending about 4k on just one meal.

Wetin you dey chop for two hours?

You say you rushed in for a fast one not a date o, saw you’re the only customer, the turned on the generator for you on top your less than 5k meal and proceeded to stay there for almost two hours. You’re wondering how they’re surviving? OGA you’re part of the problem.

Even shoprite no dey get crowd as before.. Nigerians never ready sha.. if them don hungry reach, them go do pass Kenya..

Cux I don’t understand how leaders go just dey ball, wear designers ,then telling citizens to endure suffering.. Worst part is that the government of the day is so confused ,and they are without plan or ideas of making the country better anytime soon..
